She wiped out her face with a determination and went in search of him..he was in a conference room working in the system with a serious look on his face ...
She went to him and stood just opposite to him like a mute doll..
Though he knew her presence he ignored her completely and continued with his work..
She gulped the feel which blocked her vocal card and tried to talk with difficulty..
"Sorry..." that's all she could muster her courage to say..
With a impatient gasp he said.. "Clients won't buy ur sorry' Raji" he said in a stern voice..
"Ippadi aagum nu theriyama thappu panniten...adhukkaaga nee yen kitta pesamaatiyaa karthik?,yennai oraediyaa veruthuduviyaa? I am really regretting it..won't u forgive me..?i won't let u down karthik .indha problem ah sari panna mudiyalainaa kooda ,I will take the responsibility and resign my job..."her voice had broken at the end...
She was in a wedge of crying..
He raised his eyes immediately and he closed it in regret seeing her condition..
He was already started feeling sorry for his rude behavior with Raji..Now her state melted his heart completely..But he was not ready to give up that easily..His ego stopped him from uttering consoling words to her...
He continued with his work without a word as if he was unaffected by her confession..
Seeing his stone hearten behavior she composed herself and made up her mind not to cry in front of this reckless man..
She waited for some time.. expecting him to initiate the conversation..But he was working like a robot having no emotions...Finally she gave up...
"Yenna panna pora karthik...IT team ah koopitaa avanga data retrieve pannuvaanga la..naan venaa..."she stopped in the mid seeing his glare..
"Just shut up Raji...naan yellaam paarthukaren..nee kelambu.."He almost shouted at her..
She stayed quiet for a second and said "Naan poga maaten un kooda irundhu help panna poren.." declared firmly..
"Adhu unnoda ishtam...Nijamaave yedhaavadhu help pannanum nu thonichinaa...Konjam pesaama iru.. adhuve yenakku periya help..."he said in irritating voice..
She was grumbling ... "How come he talks like this to me?"
"Pesaama dhaane irukanum..sari pesaama iruken.." she thought in her mind...
She kept on starring at him as if her intense gaze penetrating his skin ...however he tried hard he couldn't ignore that piercing gaze on him..Finally he gave up and looked back her...
"Yenna..?"he asked in annoyance..
"Naan chummaa dhaane iruken...?"she replied innocently...
"Yenna venum unakku ..?" his tone clearly showed his irritation as well as frustration on himself for not able to concentrate on work being affected by her gaze..
At last he was showing some positive emotions..
She was slowly getting back her confidence now...
"Nee ye yeppadi sari pannuva karthik...? She asked the doubt which was bugging her mind for so long..
"Yennoda friend Madhan hardware padikkum podhu avanoda serndhu naanum hardware kathukiten..So system inch by inch yenakku theriyum..data retrieve pandra velai laam naan neraiya panni iruken..."He said very casually..
Her eyes widen in shock...
Seeing her shocked face he said... " China vayasula irundhe computer than yennoda fascination ,so computer pathi yendha vishayama irundhaalum naan kathukaama vida maaten..?"A slight pride visible in his tone..
Her brows reached its height...
"So u know very well that u could retrieve the data...?" she asked...
He nodded affirmatively ...
"Appo yedhukku yennai thittine..." her anger was rising...
He frowned as if stating that he didn't get her point...
"Adhaan data retrieve pannidalaam nu theriyudhillai..appuram yedhukku yen mela avlo kobam unakku?"She cutely pouted her lips..
"Pinna yellaam ok.. naalaikku presentation nu varum bodhu.. kadaisi nerathula ippadi sodhapinaa yerichal varaadhaa? adhuvum nee?Vera yaaraavadhu panni irundhaa kooda paravaallai..." his voice clearly showed his disappointment..
His one word caught her attention "adhuvum nee" naa yenna artham?"
Instead of feeling regret she couldn't control her heart jumping in joy...hearing his hidden confession her face beamed...
"What I mean to him? how much if he had trusted me that he couldn't even accept the fact that I did mistake..."
At that moment she very well understood the reason behind his outburst ...
It was not anger it was also the outcome of his immense love and affection..
She looked at him with admiring eyes .. "Yen mela yevlo nambikai vachirukaan..! naan ivlo mosamaa sodhapitenae ...her guilt feeling surfaced again...
He was working for hours and she was nothing to do rather than starring at him sitting besides.
She was witnessing him working almost like his second shadow...
She brought him coffee he took it silently...after taking the first sip he halted for a moment it was made by her he could perceived that..
Then she bought the dinner for them and they had eaten in silence...
She was aware of that he was not fully convinced..So she maintained silence not ready to annoy him further..
Karthik also aware of her attempt to show her regret but he wanted to finish the work first before getting back to her..because it was not only the challenge to his leadership it would costs her job as well which he couldn't afford to lose ...
He was damn confident that he could recover the data ..but not sure about the time it would consume...so he didn't want to take chance..
When he almost finished the retrieval the power had gone unexpectedly..he banged the table in frustration...
"Cha..it was almost done just a few minutes work.. adhukkulla indha current poiduchi..."he was very much annoyed ..he said it more like he was talking to himself loudly..
The room was engulfed by the darkness as he couldn't see a thing out there.. For an instance he felt he had gone blind..he shook his head to come out of his absurdity..he fished out his mobile from his packet and switched the flash light...it slowly illuminated the room ...to his shock Raji was not in her seat... he rolled his eyes around the room...and his gaze stopped near the window where she was struggling to open the window..
When finally she opened it, cool wind stormed in and hits her face with force... he could see a slight shiver in her body out of cold..it was a rainy season the cool breeze accompanied by the smell of the mud indicates that it was raining somewhere near and it's going to be pour down here too..
As if reading his mind a heavy rain started pouring with a loud roar...
She crossed her hands against her chest to subside the shiver...
He looked her in a daze... she looked excruciating and the dim light added to her beauty.. he was rooted to his place like a statue and starring at her as if drinking her beauty through his eyes...
Strands of hair escaped from her thick braid due to the force of the wind dancing to the tune of nature...
Her lips holds the nave smile and her dark eyes glittered in excitement..his mind registered the each minute details of her ...and his pair of dark eyes gaping at her in pure desire...he was spell bounded by her beauty...the dark ambience also added fuel to his fire of desire..
Oblivious to the fire she had ignited in him... she was playing with the rain like a kid...
He tried to control the untamed beast in him...which tried to roam out of his control...
He closed his eyes to get out of the spell..but to his utter dismay..her chime sound of the bangles made him go crazy even with his closed eyes..which tested his patience even more...
Finally he was swept off by the hormonal waves which engulfed him with force...
He slowly closed the distance between them with a thudding heart... he stood just behind her...her one arm was clutching the rail of the window and an another one was extended out in the rain to hold the water ..
As she felt his presence in her proximity she stilled ... her heart beat stopped for a moment and started pounding frantically...she could felt the heat emitting from his body burns her back.. on the contrary a chillness ran down her spine...with his touch..
He extended his one arm to hold her hand which stilled in the air while his other hand snaked down her waist and pulled her even closer with a tug...
Her breath caught in her throat and then gasped hard as her lungs running out of oxygen...
He dug his face at the crook of her neck... as a reflex she arched her neck to giving him more room...he kissed her ever so delicately.. She got Goosebumps out of his action. His hot lips lingering on her cold skin ignited the passion in them...
He slowly turned her and brought her to his embrace as if plastering herself to him ..He lifted her chin up to him with his finger. ..
His dark passionate eyes ran down her face as if capturing that ethereal beauty forever... her eyes were closed out of shy and anticipation... his eyes travelled down the track... strand of hair teasing the forehead..a slight blush on the cheek...finally his gaze fixed on her trembling pink lips which seemed like inviting him...driven by his impulse he bent down to kiss those petals...
He jerked back with a sudden splash of cold water on his face...
He was standing in the same place and when he looked back at her... Raji was splashing water on him with a child like amusement on her face..
He blinked twice to come back from his hallucination ...he racked his hair in frustration...
He cursed himself for his third rated thoughts...he tried to be calm outside though his inside was burning with sensation...he slowly walked towards her and stood beside her silently.. hiding the storm of emotions inside...
"Don't look towards her..."he warned his heart...as he was so much tempted to look into her eyes...he clenched his fist over the rail of the window..to get a grip on his overflowing emotions..
He was struggling between the sane and insane parts of his brain...
He tried to hold back his senses which drives him wild...he didn't want to lose his senses or else he might have done something which he would regret later..
But his senses betrayed him and he looked back at her...time stilled for him seeing her face..it glowed like a moon in the darkness...he looked deep into her eyes.. he felt like drowning into those dark pools filled with emotions.. he put all his wits together to held back his over flowing sensation..
When he was about to lose the battle...there came a sudden eye blinding lightening... followed by an ear deafening thunder...
She hugged him instantly all sacred...when she heard an another one which was more louder than before she hugged him even more tighter ...as if both could hear others heart beat...
Her hot breath fanning his neck driving him insane...
At last he was defeated by the hormonal war..His senses over powered all his rationality and he hugged back her tightly as if burring her inside him..like he would never let her go off him...like she was the meaning of his existence...
Finally his heart felt peace as it found its solace..
Don't know where their sensation would have led him to...but all of a sudden... power came back bringing them back from there trance..
As the light came back they were very well aware of their vulnerable state and parted in a jiffy muttering a sorry to each other...
The devil raised in the darkness was subsided seeing the light...
He couldn't muster his courage to face her after his censored thoughts..
Rain has stopped outside but lightening and thundering were taken their turn..
Raji was muttering something to herself with each thunder...
When he keenly observed he could clearly heard that
She keeps on chanting.."Arjuna...Arjuna..."
He looked at her in surprise even a corporate century girls do believe these kinds of superstitious...
While he looked at her in astonishment ..a small smile appeared in his lips...this was a must needed distraction for him from the over powering emotions he had experienced till then ...
She noticed his naughty grin and felt embarrassed...
"Idi.. idichaa veetukku thalaichaan pullaikku aagaadhunnu yenga ammaa solluvaanga..adhanaala yeppa idi, minnal vandhaalum Arjuna..Arjuna.. nu solla solli kathu koduthutaanga...china vayasu pazhakkam adhaan vida mudiyala..."she gave explanation to her childish act..
He was even more surprised ... this was the first time she was sharing something related to her family...
She was taken aback after spilling those words...she went numb for a while...
What happened to her suddenly "konja nerathukku munnadi she was normal and telling her childhood habits.."then instantly she screened her emotions with a stern look...definitely it would be something related to her family ..which was bothering her for so long..."
Her restlessness and her withdrawing nature confused him...
He know it was not the right time to ask..so he let it for now..but he resolute in his mind that he would gain her full trust one day and on that day she would confess her problems all by herself to him without any hindrance..till then he decided to wait patiently for her to open up her pent up feelings..
He got back to his work glancing her oftenly..she was in a trance and not looking at him...
Finally when he finished the work he stretched his hands in air...Raji was sleeping on the couch in a sitting position...
Her innocent nave face softens his eyes...
He sat near her ... she was cuddled to the sofa like a child..
She was slightly shivering in cold...he put off his shirt and wrapped it around her..
She snuggled into it comfortably...he sat beside her and watching her intently..
"Hey..azhagi..sorry di..naan inniki unnai romba azha vachiten.."
Her brows frowned in sleep...as her sleep disturbed by a strand falling on her face..
He softly tucked it behind her ears...and pecked her forehead ever so lovingly..
"Unakku yennadi problem?yedhu vaa irundhaalum naan paarthukaren...nee nimadhiyaa thoongu.."He took an oath in his mind to protect her and be with her always...
Slowly he drifted to sleep seeing his love sleeping peacefully beside him...
