It was a busy Monday morning...Raji was immersed in her work she was totally out of the world and very sincerely working in full swing as the dead line neared for the wall mart project...
Suddenly she heard the snoring sound which deviated her concentration from work...
She searched for the source of the noise..to her astonishment.. it was Vishnu who leaning on his chair comfortably and was in deep sleep indicated by a big snore..
Raji couldn't believe he was sleeping at the very first day of week that too in the morning...
"Camara vera record pannittu irukku..ippadi kumbakaranan maadhiri thoongaraaare indha Vishnu..lakshmi paarthaa..nangunnu kottuvaa...avala solli kutram illai..ippadi thoongaradha paarthaa..yenakke kottanumnu thonudhu..."she couldn't bare that sightanymore so she called him loudly..
"Vishnu...Vishnu.."
Vishnu woke up with a jerk as his sleep was disturbed by a sudden voice .. "Adhukkula vidinjiduchaa...yenge.. Trisha... Asin...Eliyaana...?"
He had blabbered in his half sleep..
"Vishnu..yenna idhu..office nerathula ippadi bagirangamaa thoongaradhu illaama...pagal kanavu vera kandutu irukeenga..?adhuvum..Trisha..Eliyaana..vaaa?Lakshmi kitta sollataa.."she asked in a threatening voice..
"Iyooo Raji...Lakshmi kitta solli yennoda kadhal deepatha oodhi anaichidaadheeenga..."
Vishnu pleaded her...
"Andha bayam irukattum...adhu yenna office hour's la ippadi korattai vittu thoongareenga?"She asked with a smile..
"Thookamaa..cha..cha..yaaru sonnaa..?naan kannai moodi aazhndha dhiyaana nilai la irundhen Raji...
Innum konjam neram neenga yennai yezhupaama irundhirundhaa..naan samaadhi nilaiya adaijirupen...just...missuuu..."Vishnu was giving some lame excuses in his own style.
"Aamaam just missuuu dhaan..innum konja neram vittirundhaa..cctv ya paarthuttu...HR la unga seat ah kizhichirupaanga.." Raji mocked at him
"Cha..indha velaiyaala manushanoda nimmadhiye pochi...project..target...deadline...demo,presentation...
Yevandaa kondu pudichaan idhaiyellaam ..modhalla avan seat ah kizhikanum..."
Vishnu polambufying in his usual manner..
Raji was laughing at his antics...
Vishnu showed surprised look with a widened eye...
"Raji yenna aachi ungalukku...?"he asked in a very serious tone..
"Yenakku yenna.. naan nalla dhaane iruken..."Raji couldn't get what he was hinting...
"No Raji..u r not in ur usual self...joke sonnaa modhalla yellaam neenga moraipeenga..aanaa ippo sirikareenga...what a medical miracle...!!!!!"
Vishnu showed extreme surprise in his face.
"Vishnu..."she said in her usual threatening voice and started laughing loudly..
Vishnu looked at her with a genuine smile...
"Raji neenga yeppavum ippadi sirichi kittae irunga..manasukku romba santhoshamaa irukku..munnadi laam neenga yeppaum moody aa romba reserved aa irupeenga..romba pesi pazhagavum maateenga..but ippo konja naalaa unga kitta neraiya maatram theriyudhu..andha change romba positive aa irukku...neenga ippadi irukanumnu dhaan naanum Lakshmi um aasai pattom...ippo neenga naanga nenaicha maadhiriye irukeenga..i am really very happy for u Raji..."
"Vishnu.."she called him all amazed.
she had never thought this funny easy going guy like Vishnu would think this much about others..and that too he was genuine in his each words..she never thought him as a very good friend of her she only treated him as a mere team mate ..but his concern for her well being andcare for her touched her hearts.
"Cha ..ippadi oru friend namakku irukaarunnu ivlo naalaa therinjikaamale irundhutome..."she got emotional..
"Sorry Vishnu ,neenga yenakaaga ivlo yosichirupengannu naan nenaichi kooda paarkalai...naan yenakkullaye moozhgi poi ..yenakkaga yosika ippadi pakkathulaiye oruthar irukaarunnu kooda gavanikaama poiten ..sorry Vishnu.."
"Cha..sorry laam yedhukku Raji?neenga yendha thappum pannalaiye..neenga yellaa vishathulayum perfect aa irupeenga..naan kooda ungala paarthu admire panni iruken..but neenga unglukkulla oru circle pottutu ..adhai vittu velaiya varaama irundheenga...but now u r slowly coming out of ur shell..adhaan ungala suthi ivlo azhagaana..arumaiyaana manushanga irukaangannu paarkaeenga...".he said raising his collar playfully while saying the last sentence...
Raji smiled at him..she had seen a true friend in him..
"But indha pudhu Raji ya yengalukku yelaam romba pudichirukku..aanaa indha maatrathukku yenna kaaranamnu dhaan theriyala," Vishnu teasing her as he himself knewthe answer..
She felt her cheeks are getting heated up...and her eyes automatically looked for her source of happiness...
He was busily working in his system..not even sparing her a glance..
She was sulking.. "Thirumbiye parka maatenguraan..."
"Dai loosu paarudaa...korangu..thirudaa"she called him with names. "Thirumbipaarudaa..."she was frustrated at his insensitivity...
For the last time she tried .. "Karthik.."she called him from the bottom of her heart..
To her astonishment he looked back at her immediately after she called his name..as if he had heard her calling him...she was awestruck ...and gaping at him like a statue..
He looked at her weirdly and gestured like asking for "what.."
She flashed a delightful smile at him with a contended heart... first he was surprised of her strange behavior then he too smiled at her heartily...
By seeing his smile..her heart flying in air.. out of her control..Her mind said "He is the one..."
She bit her lips to control her blush..and grinned like a fool..this feel was very new for her..she was very much enjoying this new found feeling..the churning feel in her stomach giving her a sweet confusion...totally she was on cloud nine..
In canteen
Raji was sitting alone...and took out her lunch box from her bag...when she tried to open it..suddenly a hand snatched it from her in a jiffy..She was outrageous and looked back at that person in shock and anger..but as soon as she saw that person her anger gone with the wind andher eyes widened in astonishment..
"Hey..Karthik yenna idhu...?"she asked in surprise..
"Oruthan inga kola patnila irukkum bodhu..yennai vittutu nee mattum saapidura..?"he complained like a child..
Sari yenna inniku lunch box laam konduvandhiruka? he asked in surprise..
"Yennamo theriyala inniku samaikanum pola irndhadhu..adhaan naalu manike yezhundhu samaichi konduvandhen..."she said with pride..
He smiled at her and raised his brows in amusement...
"Appadi yenna samaicha..?"he asked curiously...
Before she answered his question...
"Karthik..."a shriek caught their attention...a smart looking girl came and sat near Karthikwith an amused face..
Karthik also retuned a warm smile and hified with her..
"Hi.. Susan..How r u?"
He too asked in an excited voice..
Raji was shocked to see this sight..a tinge of jealousy started to burn her heart..
"I am fine da..unnai andha meeting la paarthadhu... adhukapuram paarkave mudiyala...modhalla unnoda phone number kudu..appo dhaan nenaicha udane unnoda pesa mudiyum.."she asked him demandingly..
Raji's eyes widened in shock...
She too knew this Susan..she is one of the team leaders in KOUSHIK's team but she never talked with her in this 7 months of her career in this office..
"But vandhu oru maasathulaiye..ivanga yeppadi ivlo close aa pesikaraanga.." Actually she was fuming ...
Both Karthik and susan continue with their talk without even aware of the soul sitting besidethem was burning inside...
Karthik and susan was chatting totally forgetting Raji as if she doesn't exist there..
Finally Susan asked Karthik to come with her for a lunch as she was going out for a lunch..
"Hey ,Karthik innum saapidalai dhaane ..vaa polaam..Nala's aapa kadaikku porom naanga gang aa neeyum join panniko..i will be very happy to have u with us for a lunch.."she was inviting him ...
Raji felt a wetness at the corner of her eyes..she had felt that she was totally out of thatplace..like odd man out..she decided to vacant that place silently..as she tried to get up..Suddenlyshe felt a tug in her hand ..he grabbed her hand tightly and pressed it down wards to make her sit in her place...all had happened under the table hidden from others sight...she looked at him with widened eyes full of amazement..
But he was not even glancing in her direction..but talking with Susan like nothing happened...
She couldn't get a head or tail of his odd behavior..but she felt a jitter passed through her with his touch..
She came back to this world as she heard her name..
"Susan..this is Raji..my team mate.."he introduced Raji to Susan.
She just said a careless "hi.." to Raji..as she was least bothered to meet Raji.
Raji twisted her lips seeing her attitude..
"Sari adhai vidu nee kelambu lunch ku polaam.."she was very keen on dragging him for the lunch.
"Sorry susan..naan innikku Raji oda luch saapidurennu solliten..naan yennoda commitment ah yennaikkum change panna maaten..."he said that sentence eyeing at Rajifor a second..
Raji felt that he said that with a hidden meaning...she has a kind of illusion that he was trying to hint something to her...
Raji couldn't control her heart jumping in joy..
Susan left with disappointed look...
Karthik turned towards Raji ... but she was frowning at him..
"Yenna..?"he asked in confusion...and raising his one brow as a question..
"Avanga dhaan avlo dhooram koopiduraanga la poga vendiyadhu dhaane...? " she asked annoyed..
"Kandipaa poven but inniku mood illa.."he said with a teasing smile..
She twisted her lips at his statement..
"Sari poi avalodaiye saapittuko..."she turned other side..
"Romba pasikkudhu Raji seekiram yedhaavadhu saapidanum illainaa..indha table chair iyellaam saapida aarambichiduven..."
By saying this he snatched the box from her and opened it..
She was little embarrassed by seeing his surprised look..
"Idhai dhaan nee 4 manikke yezhundhu samaichiyaa..?" He asked in disbelief..
She was cutely pouting... "Yenakku idhu dhaan seiya theriyum..."
He smiled at her innocent revelation ...
"Thayir saadham.. ooruga...idhai seiyaradhukku 4 maniku yedhukku Rajiyendhirikanum...?"he was still amazed..
"Arisi oora poda yezhundhen appuramaa thirumba thoongiten..."she said in a meek voice...
He laughed out loud...shaking his head...
"Sirikaadha Karthik.. naan poren..."she tried to move away...
"Hey..hey..pogaadha.. sari kudu saapiduren..."
He took his first bit and looked at her..she was looking at him with curious eyes..
"Hey Raj.. vera yedhunaa order pannu.."he told to her
Her face had fallen in disappointment...and he continued as if she didn't notice that..
"Yenakku idhu full aa venum.. nee venaa vera yedhaavdhu order panniko..."
Her face lit up immediately... "Avlo nallavaa irukku..?"she was suspicious..
"Ivan yerkanave yennoda coffee romba kevalamaa irrukkunu yen mudhugukku pinaadi pesinavan dhaane..."
"Raji.. actually yenakku veettu saapaadu saapidura maadhiri irukku ...this is the best curd rice I ever had in my life podhumaa..?"
"Poi sollaadha.. yen kitta ippadi solluva.. appuramaa Vishnu kitta ,kanraaviyaa irundhadhunnu solluva..unnai pathi yenakku theriyaadha?"she said in a complaining voice with a little hurt visible in her tone as the other day incident flashed in her mind..
Karthik felt sorry for giving that pain to her ...
"Sorry raji anniki naan unnoda rude behavior naala kadupula irundhen adhaan appadi pesiten...
But unmaiyaave unnoda coffee super theriyumaa..?thirumba yeppa daa appadi oru coffee kudipomnu yekkamaa irukku Raji.."
A sweet smile appeared on her face hearing his confession..
After they finished their lunch..he offered her a chocolate..
"Yenna idhu..?"
"Idhu theriyaadhaa?chocolate..."he joked.
"Adhu theriyudhu yedhukku..."
"Saapidaradhukku dhaan vera yeddhukku?"
"Adhu yengalukku theriyaadhaa..?Yenna thideernnu,yedhavadhu visheshamaa nu keten..?"
"Konjam vishesham dhaan but yenakku..unakku yeppadi nu theriyalai..." He said with hidden meanings..
"yennanu sollu Karthik.."
" Neeye yosichi kandu pidichiko..."with that he departed after dumping the chocolate in her hand..
She looked at the chocolate ... "Yenna vaa irukkum...?"she was in deep thought...
Suddenly it strikes her that at this same date only they had met each other last month.its a one month completion day for their meeting...
"He felt this as a special day and bought chocolate before hand and shared lunch with meas to celebrate the day..he had planned everything..and involved me in everything evenwithout my knowledge.."
After the realization hits her..She looked at the direction he had left in pure astonishment ...and her eyes full of love...
