CHAPTER THIRTEEN

Karthi's Birthday

Karthi gets up early , dresses up and goes to the temple and waits for Raji leaning on his bike.

He checks his watch quite often. Tries to call Raji and founds it to be switched off. He seems disappointed first and got irritated later. When he was about to leave, a lady comes and calls him.

Lady : thambi... yaara thedittu irukka...? paappa appave vandhiduchu...

Karthi : yaara solreenga... ?

Lady : innaikku enna vishesham thambi ? paappaa seekirame vandhu special poojai ellaam pannuchu..

Karthi : (still confused but happy that Raji had already come there) innaikku en pirandhanaal..

Lady : appadiyaa... naan kooda unga kalyaana naal lo nu nenachen...

Karthi : illanga.. neenga vera yaaro nu nenachuttu pesureenganu nenakiren..

Lady : ennappaa nee.. adhellam naan correct ah nyabagam vachiruppen... naan inga dhaan pookadai vachirukken 10 varushamaa... Kaalailaye kadai thorandhuduven... naan dhaan paathene un samsaaratha... ippo dhaan saappittu varalaam nu ponen...

Karthi : illa..adhu vandhu...

Lady : indha kovil lukku oru 2 varusham munnaala... neenga rendu perum jodiya vandhu... enkitta poo vaangi, paappaa thalai la vachi vittadha paathu... naane kannu vachitten... oor kanne pattirukkum...

Karthi : (remembers that on Jaya's birthday they both came to the same temple)

Lady : ennappa ippo nyabagam varudhaa... ? (she turns aside) paaruppaa.. ammani ye vandhuttaanga.. (points someone coming outside of the temple)

Karthi : (turns and sees Jaya coming there)

(the lady moves on with her work now)

He is lost and goes back to the past and remembers that day. The saree that she is wearing now is the one Karthi selected for her on her birthday.



Jaya : Karthi... enna yosanai la irukka...

Karthi : haan... onnum illa...

Jaya : (gives her hand) Happy Birthday da...

Karthi : thanks Jaya.

Jaya : indhaa prasaadham eduthukko...

Karthi : (tooks vibhudhi from her hand and applies on his head). sari naan kelamburen...

Jaya : kovilukku ulla pogala ?

Karthi : illa.. time aayiduchu... marubadiyum thanks Jaya...

When he was about to leave, that lady calls him again and says..

Lady : varum bodhu dhaan thani thaniyaa vandheenga.. ippovaadhu onnaa pogalaamla... naan kan kulira paathuppen..

Karthi : (thinks for a while) hmmm... vaa Jaya bike la yeru... unna drop pannittu poren... unakku shift 2 o clock dhaane.. ?

Jaya : illa Karthi... andha work mudinjiduchu... inimel normal shift dhaan... aanaa nee kelambu.. unakku yerkanave time aachunu sonna...

Karthi : office kku dhaan...

Jaya : illa karthi.. naan veettukku poittu... dress change pannittu varuven...

Karthi : yen ? indha dress ku enna ?

Jaya : illa... salwar maathikkalaam nu...

Karthi : venaa.. Jaya... saree dhaan unakku nallaa irukku... adhum indha green color... super... modhalla.. pinnaadi yeri ukkaaru...

Jaya sits at the back seat and waves the lady, who is taking dhirustti.

Karthi forgets his anger and what for he came there... as they were riding to office.

Later in the conference room,

cake cutting event is arranged for Karthi. Susan & team is present there except Raji.

Karthi cuts the cake and gives to everyone. Vishnu applies cake on his face and have fun.

Karthi enters Susan's room. She slowly starts talking about her past and how she started liking Karthik and finally says that she loves Karthik.

Karthik stops her and immediately says that he has only respect on her and can't imagine anything more than that. He also says that his heart belongs to another girl now. He says sorry for hurting her and leaves.



Susan upset and thinks about her meeting with HR last week.

HR : Susan.. ungalukke theriyum.. indha client evlo important nu... they want experienced person like you at their place next month.

Susan : theriyum David.. But indha dhadava enakku poga viruppam illa.

HR : nallaa yosichu apparamaa sollunga..

Susan : illa Sir.. en personal life la idhu mukkiyamaana time.. oru major decision edukka vendi irukku... so kandippa mudiyaadhu.

Comes back to present. mindvoice ... unakkaga naan onsite offer ah vera vendaamnu sollitten... enna ippadi disappoint pannittiye karthi.

Later in the evening ;

Karthi checks with Lakshmi and Vishnu if there is any news on Raji.

Karthi : Raji yen ippadi panraa... oru phone koodavaa panna mudiyaadhu.. ? atleast oru SMS ?

Laksh : ava panradhu irukkattum... nee panradhu sariyaa ?

Karthi : naan ennanga pannen... ?

Laksh : enakku onnum theriyaadhu nu nenakaadha.. unakku dhaan Raji illanaa substitute irukke.. apparam yen varuthapadura... ? naan paatheen.. innaikku Jodi ya bike la vandhadha...

Karthi : (silent)

Laksh : illa nu sollu paapom..

Karthi : adhu vera lakshmi...

Lakshmi leaves. Vishnu keeps quite as he feels that Karthi is disturbed now.

At the end of day, when they are starting home :

Karthi : Raji inimel varuvaa enakku thonala da..

Vish : adha vidu daa.. nee Jaya va enga, eppadi paathenu solludaa..

Karthi : (kaduppu) ippo adhu rumba mukkiyamaa ?

Vish : aamaa da...

Karthi : Raji kkaaga... kovil la wait pannittu irundhen. aanaa Jaya adhukku munnadiye vandhu edho poojai laam pannaalaam...

Vish : appadi podu... onnu note panniyaa..

Karthi : enna daa. ?

Vish : pona dhadava yum... Raji abscond aana bodhu dhaan... Jaya entry kuduthaa... ippavum... shift la irundha ava, Raji kaanaama ponnappa vandhirukka... edho karanamaa dhaan idhellaam nadakkudhu nu thonudhu enakku...

Karthi too thinks...

Nice Ramya... Im confused along Karthik but as of now Jaya weighs more than Raji... Indha feeling puriyadhavanga thinks that he is comparing and having option as onu illana onu'nu but this is entirely different... Karthik loves Raji but Jaya'va avanala maraka mudila... He can feel the presence of love whenever Jaya is there... Karthik pavam dhan neenga enna plan panirkinganu therila but im in love with this story...

CHAPTER FOURTEEN

Even this time... Raji goes missing for a week.. and no clue as what happened. All are worried and Karthi is angry as well.

At times, Jaya used to go for with Lakshmi. They are in canteen, Karthi & Vishnu joins them.

Though Lakshmi likes and knows about Angel, this time she doesn't want her to be there along with Karthi. Laksh has more concern for Raji.

Jaya : enna karthik... dull ah irukka... udambu sari illayaa ?

Karthi : adhellaam onnum illa..

Jaya : illaye... nee eppavum pola normal ah illa...

Vish : (starts teasing) adhu vera onnum illa Jaya.. ivlo naal nee shift la vandhappo.. unna romba miss pannaan... innum adhula irundhu velila varala...

(Karthi gives a look... Laksh in her mind voice ivan oruthan... vaaya vachittu summa irukka maattaan')

Next Day :

(Briefed the actual scenes from the episode)

Raji comes to office and goes to her seat silently. No one talk to her. But when they are around together... talk indirectly about what she did.. (absconding, not intimating, not ready to open her mouth on first place)

Laksh notices Raji alone in the conf room and she goes in. She starts scolding Raji and points out her mistake.. Raji couldn't bear and she bursts out whatever happened to her in her hometown from the night she left.

Father's health - left by midnight - engagement preparations - operation date fixed - finally engaged without the groom around...

Later, Lakshmi informed this matter to Vishnu and they were discussing about it as how will Karthik take this up. Then they notice Karthi coming from the other side of the door who has overheard their talks.

Both are worried on seeing him. Karthi is in tears.

Finally, Karthi and Raji have one to one talk. At first he shows his anger, frustration, helplessness... and at last he cools down and wishes Raji and says that he is happy for her. Raji cries after he leaves.

Team Meeting :

Susan announces that she is travelling abroad in few days due to urgent client needs, but looks at Karthi and feels..

Again a flashback...

Susan : David.. naan onsite opportunity ya accept pannikiren.. I'm ready to travel anytime.

HR : enna Susan...? pona vaaram dhaan personal reasons naala chance illa nu sonneenga..

Susan : illa Sir... enakku ippa oru change thevappadudhu...

HR : OK. unga wish.. nallavela.. naan udane NO sollaama hold pannirundhen... so problem illa... naan further ah panna vendiyadha paathukiren...

Susan : Thanks David..

Lakshmi and Raji @ canteen having coffee... Angel joins them..

Raji : lakshmi... Susan nin dhideer velinaattu payanathukku enna kaaranam irukkum ?

Laksh : may be... avanga proposal ku Karthi NO sonnaan la... adhanaala kooda irukkalaam.. hurt aagiruppaanga... location change...

Raji feels happy on hearing this. Same happiness for Angel as well (mind voice... habbaa... Raji yum love illa nu sonnaa... ippo engaged vera... Karthi Susan kkum NO sollittaan... appo innum avan manasula naandhaan irukkenaa...)

Angel congratulates Raji for her engagement. Raji just smiles as she doesn't know how to react.

KRV @ their seats..

Karthi is upset..

Raji : Vishnu.. paatheengala... Susan poraanga nu SIR romba varuthamaa irukkaaru..

Karthi : (shouts) chumma edhaavadhu olaraadha..

Raji gets a call from her fianc.. She hesitates to pick it up.. But it keep on ringing, so she picked up at last.

Karthik gets irritated more on seeing this, he gets up and leaves the office.

While he is driving, he decide to go to the park he usually goes when he is upset where he gets peace of mind... with fresh air, watching the kids playing, elder people spending their time together...

While he meets many different people, he tends to forget his tension for some time.

When he is nearing the park, he is stopped by a middle-aged person.. Thambi Karthik...' . He turns to see who it is.
