Shashi Ranjan reveals Roshan Abbas will be new host
It's indeed the season of comebacks. 'Office Office' has already hit the small screen as 'Naya Office Office' and if rumours are to be believed, 'Antakshari' and 'Karamchand' are also going to revisit the idiot box. Joining this crop of shows is the hit Zee show ' Jeena Isi Ka Naam Hai'.
Confirms producer Shashi Ranjan, "Yes, it's true that Jeena…' is making a comeback; only this time around it's going to focus on TV stars instead."
Speaking further about it, he notes that the shooting is yet to begin. "It's scheduled to start on September 22 and it should go on air sometime in October," he adds. So will the new version stick to the earlier format? Replies Shashi.
"Certain elements are bound to stay. For example, we'll still cash in on the nostalgia, the emotions, walking down memory lane and the surprise factor."
That said, Farooque Shaikh will not be hosting the show. "Roshan Abbas will don the host's mantle this time around but we'd love to have Farooque as a guest," says Shashi. So what made him produce the show?
"The earlier show (produced by NDTV) was a huge success. Moreover, I'm not new to talk shows - given the fact that my previous shows like 'The shotgun show' and 'Guftugu' were also talk shows," he admits.
However, he's yet to decide as to who would appear on the very first episode of this one hour tte--tte that will be aired on Saturdays in the prime time slot. "It's too early to say that," he says, but not without revealing some of the names who have agreed to be a part of the show.
