I Hate you Like I... (No Chance)
Kabir went back to the hall. They all had dinner. Kabir was still staring at her but his eyes depicted pain this time and Nisha could feel it. Nisha felt really bad when he was hurt. She went to the terrace after having dinner. She was looking at the stars.
"Dreaming about me?"
She heard a voice so she turned. There he was standing.
Ni- Yahan kya kar raha hai?
Ka- Tera muh taakne aaya tha!
Ni- Kya?
Ka- Abbe terrace par aana mujhe accha lagta hai.
Kabir went and stood beside her as she turned.
Ka- You also feel good here?
Ni- Hmmm... Kabir what do you like the most about these stars?
Ka- There silence and patience!
Ni- Huh?
Ka- They listen to my faaltu stories without even complaining for once. They just listen to them and sometimes even suggest me some ideas but in their own way. They never for once say that shut up Kabir you are irritating us. I find them to be the cutest character one can ever see in their life. (looks at Nisha) And you?
Ni- (looks at the stars) I never talk to them but just look at them and they understand what I want to say. And sometimes I try to understand what they want to say. Mom used to say that try to be a listener because the stars are listeners and that is why they are held high. I could never implement it in my life (giggles) But Kirti did. That is why she got a high post.
Ka- Hmmm...
They stood in silence. None of them spoke a word. They were as if talking through the air. As if they were telling something to the air and the cool breeze transferred it to the other one. Finally Kabir broke the silence because he remembered that he had something really important to talk to her.
Ka- Nisha?
Ni- (looks at him) Hmm...
Ka- Nisha I wanted to tlak to you about something.
Ni- Sure.
Ka- Nisha that... I mean what happened between us... I mean at the venue...
Ni- (keeps her palm on his) It's okay Kabir. It was just a small mistake. Ignore it! We were taken by the moment.
Ka- (monologue, upset) it was a mistake for her? Why? I mean she is right, we were taken away by the moment but still. I don't know why I don't regret it. What is happening to me? Am I really in...No Kabir. Let it be. You are thinking a lot about the whole thing. Leave it and move on. But still it was a mistake for her... Kabir!
He mentally scolded himself.
Ni- Kabir?
Ka- (his trance was broken) Yeah! You are right! It was just a mistake. I am sorry.
Ni- (monologue) Tere liye yeh mistake kaise ho sakti hai Kabir! I don't regret it. though I don't know why but still I am feeling upset about it. Why? What is happening to me? am I in... No Nisha, no chance. You hate the concept of love so how can you. No you are just over-exaggerating the whole thing. Leave it! but still he shouldn't have... Nisha!
Nisha also mentally scolded herself. They were looking at each other and they didn't know when that looking changed into an eye lock. None of them even blinked.
Nisha!!!
They heard Laxmi call her.
Ni- haan Maa aayi!
She didn't know why she blushed.
Ka- (monologue) wait! Did she blush? Why would she? Does she... NO Kabir! Phirse mat shuru ho jaa na!
Nisha was about to leave when Kabir caught her hand.
Ni- (turned) Kya hua?
Ka- Are you hiding something from me?
Ni- Why would I? And why should I tell you all the things?
Ka- I was just asking!
Ni- Chod ab! I have to go to Viraj! He wanted with me alone.
Ka- (monologue) Iss Viraj ki toh!
Kabir pulled her towards him through her hand and she crashed on his chest. Nisha was flabbergasted. Their eyes met. Kabir held Nisha's hand at her back.
Ni- (low tone) Kabir chod!
Ka- (huskily) Nahi!
Ni- (not able to understand, blushing) Kabir! Please Maa neeche bula rahi hai!
Ka- I want an answer.
Ni- What?
Ka- (boldly) Did you actually regret the kiss?
Nisha was shocked for why he asked that question when he himself regretted it. she didn't reply at first.
Ka- (huskily, nearing her) Because I didn't!
Nisha was feeling butterflies in her stomach. She wanted to jump then and there itself. She obviously didn't know why. But she was really elated.
Nisha!!!!!!!!
She heard her mother calling her again.
Ni- (tried to release her hand) Kabir jaane de! Maa bula rahi hain.
Ka- Nahi! Pehle tu bata!
Ni- Kabir please!
Ka- No!
Ni- Kabir Maa upar aajayengi!
Ka- Aa jaane de!
Ni- Kabir this is not some Shahrukh Khan movie! Please let me go. This will become a big issue otherwise.
Ka- Tu jawaab kab degi?
Ni- Pehle chod fir bataungi.
Kabir released her.
Ni- (ran from there) Pata chal jayega! (blushed and smiled)
Ka- Pata chal gaya hai madam (smiles)
Kabir also went down. But they did not know that their conversation was heard by two people.
"This can't be true!"
"This is!"
"We need to do something about it!"
"We will have to!"
The two people went down. Kartik's family was leaving. Nisha and the entire family came out to see them off. Nisha had a cute smile on her face all throughout. She was looking stunning with that smile. Kabir could not stop but think about her all throughout the way to their home.
Nisha could also not stop thinking about his stares and all the things. She thought of talking to Viraj once but knew that he would again start with love and all bakwaas. She went to Kirti. Viraj was already there.
IN Kirti's Room
Ni- Kirti I need your filer.
Ki- Haan le le! Ismein puch kya rahi hai!
Nisha sat there. Kirti was really excited.
Ki- I can't believe I am engaged! (over-excited)
Ni- (filing her nails, not so very enthusiastically) Even I can't!
Vi- Kirti, how did you realize that you have fallen for him? (he wanted Nisha to know)
Ki- I can't exactly tell it. I mean at first we were just friends. We didn't have much of an informal conversation. But then we started having fun conversations. Then we started becoming good friends.
Vi- (monologue) In logon ki story se toh Nisha ko kahin se inspiration nahi milega. Because they are the fighting couple. I only need to do something.
Vi- (cuts her in between) But Kirti there might be something by which you understood it was love. What was it? (looked at her with hopeful eyes)
Ki- (casually thinking) Yes! (Realizing the thing) Yes! Actually there was a start somewhere. And the credit for making us realize our love should be given to Naina, his friend, rather a close friend. He talked too much with her. I started feeling angry with them. I thought I was getting angry for some reason but no, I realized I was feeling jealous.
Nisha started remembering the time when Kabir was talking so cutely with Ayesha and she was getting angry.
Vi- (monologue) Teer bilkul sahi nishaane par laga hai!
Ki- One day I was dressed beautifully for a function in the office. He was staring at me. I was feeling shy. Later I realized that I was blushing.
Nisha remembered when Kabir was staring at her and she again blushed thinking about it.
Ki- And then...
Ni- (cuts her off) Shut up! Tu padh gayi hai na pyaar mein toh ram katha kyun suna rahi hai? I am going to bed. Goodnight.
She went away. She did not want to shout at Kirti like this but she feared. There was some unknown fear which enveloped her. Did she actually fell in love? And that too with a guy she claimed to hate? She didn't know the answer for it but she knew that something was happening to her.
Ni- (monologue) Nahi Nisha you are over thinking. It is nothing of that sort. You can never even like that Bandar. Bhains ki poonch! Uss isiot, gadhe, duffer, lunatic piece ko like karna, Huh! Not even in my wildest dreams.
Nisha went to sleep after that.
Kartik's ROOM (Ussi ke ghar mein)
Ka- Bhai, what are your after barbaadi plans?
Kar- What?
Ka- I mean your after wedding plans?
Kar- Kabir! Ab to sudhar ja.
Ka- Sudharne ke liye thodi na bigda hoon. (winks)
Kar- Chod! After wedding plans kuch khaas nahi hai! We will go for our work abroad and then come after a month after completing our work.
Ka- (irritated) Bhai this is too much! Don't be such a workaholic! Arre shaadi ke baad honeymoon pe jaate hain (stressed on honeymoon) (angry) aise kaam par nahi.
Kar- (whispered as Vasu was standing on the corridor) Abbe oh gadhe! We are having honeymoon only. Try to understand! (winks)
Ka- (Loudly) OOOHHH!
Kar- (smacks his hand) Chup kar! Idiot!
Ka- (smiles)Bhai vaise how did you come to know that you love bhabhi?
Kar- Too much interested? Kya baat hai? (teasingly)
Ka- bhai, ho gaya aapka! Batana hai toh bata do varna... (about to go)
Kar- Accha baith! I won't narrate everything because kaafi long ho jayega but I can tell you the main things I felt. Like I was frustrated one day so I shouted at her. Later I felt so very guilty that I felt like I have done the biggest mistake. After that I went to her and apologised to her. Though she didn't get convinced so soon but still, I finally managed to convince her to forgive me. She was really hurt. And I felt someone stabbing me when I saw tears in her eyes.
Kabir remembered how he had hurt Nisha and then how much guilty he was feeling! The way he had hurt her actually hurt him more. Seeing her hurt, in pain was more painful for him.
Kar- And one day by mistake we came really close. Not that close but still close. I felt that the time should stop then and there itself. I didn't want the time to go on. I think that was when I stopped denying my feelings and started accepting it.
Kabir remembered the way they kissed each other. He really did blush thinking about that. He didn't regret it and neither did she. And then at the terrace when they were so much close. He never wanted the time to pass. What was happening to him? Was he really... No it can't be! That was what he told him.
Ka- (ignoring the topic) Bhai I am leaving. It's already late. We have too much of work to do.
He was about to leave when Kartik called him. He turned.
Kar- Kabir, do you love someone?
Ka- (not looking in his eyes) What? No bhai! Not at all. I have told you Kabir Kumar cannot fall in love. (proudly)
Kar- (smirks) But remember even the lion fell for the lamb. And you are no lion and she is no lamb.
Ka- (hesitatingly) Who...Who is no...Who is no lamb? Bhai I cannot understand what you are talking about!
Kar- (smiles, teasingly) But I can! (goes to him and keeps his hand on his shoulder) But Kabir remember if you are latte in realizing then you might as well have to pay for it for every action has an equal and opposite reaction.
Ka- (leaves) Goodnight bhai!
Kartik smiled and closed the door. Kabir was walking on the corridor.
Ka- (monologue) No chance Kabir! You are over-thinking! Aur bhai kit oh aadat hai philosophy jhaadne ki! You cannot even like that Oxygen! She reacts for everything. You are like hydrogen who supports combustion but does not burn itself. So tera aur uska koi connection nahi hai. Not even in my wildest dreams!
God- (suddenly, teasingly) But tujhe pata hai na ki Hydrogen and Oxygen combine to form water, one of the most purest and beautiful thing of the nature. Tune padha toh tha in 6th?
Ka- (looks up) Aapki timing bahut kharab hai! Abhi chedo mat! Neend Aa rahi hai! Goodnight!
God- Haan haan! Bhaag le! Par kab tak bhaagega! Lautkar tujhe yahin par aana hai! Goodnight !
Ka- So jao jaake! Goodnight!
Kabir went to sleep convincing himself that he cannot fall for her.
