Day 23

Nisha went to Saurav's house before going to the studio. Kabir was in the kitchen and his mobile in the living room. Suddenly it rang. Looking at the caller id, Nisha's face became red. Vrinda! Kabir came out.

Kabir-Nisha, yaar my mobile is ringing, at least receive kar naa call...

Nisha-(annoyed) Tumhari best friend ka call hai...

Kabir- (happily) Vrinda? (he received the call)... (happily) Awww, hi my baby... (Nisha's eyes were wide in shock)... How's my Shona..(her eyes turned red)...Awww my sweetheart is missing me huh? (now Nisha wanted to go to Australia and slap Vrinda, after a pause) Really, you are in Mumbai... Wow! (Nisha wanted to be killed or kill someone) Waiting for you, bye...

Kabir hanged the call and was surprised to see Nisha walk away.

Kabir- hey, ruk naa, saath mein chalte hai...

Nisha- (annoyed) No, your best friend is coming... you should spend time with her...

She walked out of the house and went to the studio. Here Kabir was confused. What happened to Nisha? When she came she was all happy-happy and now she is upset? Paagal hai...

Saurav saw the whole scene and happily messaged Vrinda, "Thanks a lot. Nisha actually thought that Kabir was saying all those cheesy words for you."

Actually, Kabir wasn't speaking to Vrinda but her 5 year old sister Rinni.

Saurav and Kabir went in the studio. Everyone was surprised to see Vrinda. After exchanging "Hi"s and hugs, Vrinda said those words that made Nisha's insecurities multiply 10 times.

Vrinda- Actually, I have joined the dance crew in place of Riya.

All were happy, but no one noticed Nisha's sadness as she walked away. Harsh and Saurav saw this. Saurav signalled him to speak to her. He nodded and followed her. Kabir didn't fail to notice this. His anger started boiling, but then Harsh was also Nisha's friend and Kabir had no right to stop him from talking to her.

Harsh followed Nisha in the fire exit.

Nisha was sitting on the steps, trying to control her tears, but just couldn't.

Harsh sat beside her.

Harsh- Hey.

Nisha looked at him and rolled her eyes mentally.

Harsh- So Kabir and you are "just good friends" huh?(air quoting just good friends)

Nisha-(looking in the other direction) Yaa, just good friends.

Harsh- And you think I'll believe that?

Nisha's heart froze in fear. Harsh shouldn't know about her feelings for Kabir, what so ever. Her Dadaaji wouldn't leave her alive.

Nisha-(faking annoyance) Tum maano yaa na maano, mujhe farak nahi padta...

She stood up and went outside the fire exit and Harsh couldn't help but pity her. She was trying to hide so many emotions and the worst part was that everyone knew about them.

Here Nisha entered the canteen and couldn't believe her eyes. Kabir was feeding Vrinda chocolate cake. Her favorite chocolate cake! "Vrinda, I so hate you!" She thought to herself with anger being evident in her eyes.

Sukku-(who saw Nisha's expression) Tumhe jalne ki badboo aa rahi hai kya Umesh?

Umesh- (confused) Nahi toh...

Sukku- Tumhe Kirti?

Kirti- How blah Sukku! Yahan kya jalne waala hai?

Sukku-(trying to control his laughter) Nisha ka dil...

Nisha- Kya?

Sukku- Lagta hai humari Nisha Vrinda se jal rahi hai...

Nisha- Vrinda se jale meri jooti...

She said and sat beside Dolly. Dolly was busy planning the color scheme of a set.

Nisha- (trying to change the topic) Dolly, kya kar rahi hai?

Dolly-(lost in her work) Tere aur Kabir ki shaadi ki planning.

Nisha blushed. Kabir stared at her in shock and other burst out laughing.

Nisha-(faking gratitude) Oh really! Thanks a lot yaar... Tu hi meri sabsi acchi dost hai...

Sukku- Jaise Vrinda Kabir ki sabsi acchi dost hai...

Nisha made a face at him.

Vrinda- Sukku, kyun usse pareshaan kar rahe ho? Actually Nisha, mere haat ko wound hua hai, and chocolate cake is my fav... isilye Kabir mujhe khila raha tha...

Nisha-(trying to be normal) Mujhe koi farak nahi padta, Kabir tumhe khilaye, yaa kisi aur ko...

She went away. Kabir stared at her retreating back in confusion while others smiled. Their plan was perfect.

The day was very uneasy for both of them. They wanted to talk with each other but Kabir couldn't ignore his best friend and Nisha knew that Dadaaji would be angry at her for avoiding Harsh.

Nisha's blood was boiling as every minute passed. Kabir was engrossed in Vrinda that he forgot the world around him, he forgot her and what added fuel to the fire was Harsh and Saurav's conversation.

*Flashback*

Harsh- Kabir aur Vrinda saath mein kitne acche lagte hai naa?

Saurav- Haan, even I was wondering that how come they didn't fall for each other...

Harsh- Aren't they together?

Saurav- No... just good friends...

Harsh- I thought they were dating...

Saurav- Kuch bhi...

*Flashback ends*

"How could that Saurav ka baccha say that Kabir and Vrinda should fall for each other? Wait, was he right? Was Vrinda perfect for Kabir. After all she was his childhood friend... she knew his family... his likes... She knows him..." Nisha thought this and sadness over powered her.

Viraj, Shantanu and Vrushika eyed the 6 with their eyebrows arched.

Viraj- Toh, yeh sab Nisha aur Kabir ke liye kiya jaa raha hai?

Saurav- yes sir...

Shantanu- Are you serious, agar lene ke dene pad gaye toh?

Sukku- Sir, agar humne kuch liya hi nahi toh toh lene ke dene kaise padenge?

Viraj, Shantanu and Vrushika face palmed.

Vrushika- Iska matlab hai, ki agar Kabir ne Nisha ko Harsh ke saath jaane ke liye keh diya toh, yaa Nisha ne Kabir ko Vrinda ke saath, then What the hell will you guys do?

Kirti- Mam, aisa kuch bhi nahi hoga... I saw insecurity and jealousy clearly on their faces...

Dolly- Aur yeh koi movie bhi nahi, ki hero apni heroin ko sacrifice kar dega...

Viraj- And neither is this a story ki your plans will be successful if the author wants...

Umesh- Sir, this is a story, just that Kismat ne already likh di hai, aur jo bhi ending hoga, accha hi hoga...

Viraj sighed and looked at the leads of his movies. The 6 had asked them to help them make Nisha and Kabir more insecure.

Vrushika- (smiling) Fine, I am in...

Shantanu- I am in too...

Viraj- Ok...

The 6 started cheering in happiness and all eye balls turned towards Viraj's cabin.

Nisha decided to practice archery. After shoots, she went to the grounds. But every time she shot, she missed the aim. Her mind was very much distracted. Not knowing what to do, she went home.

She freshened up and opened the refrigerator making her smile for the first time in the whole day. 2 bars of chocolate were lying there and there was also a tub of ice-cream. She saw a paper stuck to one of the bars. Reading it made her realize that Kabir hadn't forgotten her, "I am sacrificing my chocolate and ice-cream for the last time- Kabir."

Kabir lied on his bed. He missed Nisha. Yet he pulled himself out of her thoughts, turned off the lights and went to sleep. His lips curved into a smile. He knew that Nisha had seen ice-cream and chocolate and had smiled. Smiled because of him and that was enough to make him happy.

Nisha relished the ice-cream. So what if Kabir wasn't with her, his memories were there and that was enough to make her happy.
