Hey NiBirians, Day 14 is updated. Hope it is nice...

Day 14

Nisha woke up in hurry. He was still asleep hugging her. She ran her hand through his hair and muttered, "Happy Birthday Kabir."

She then freshened up and left for Saurav's house, not before leaving him a note. Kabir woke up after 15 minutes and saw the note besides him. He read it and sighed happily.

"Good Morning Kabire. Today you can rest as much as you want. Tere liye holiday hai aajJ Will see you in evening.

Your so-called wifey, NishaJ"

Kabir-(happily) Haan, aaj holiday... aaj toh... (he smiled) Mera birthday hai... Chal Kabire, jaldise tayyar ho jaa, your angels must be waiting..."

He freshened up and left to meet his angels. The whole way, he was waiting for her call. Vrinda had called him and wished him, so next he expected Nisha's call.

Kabir- Mujhe pakka pata hai that she remembers, par if she doesn't... (Brushing of his thoughts) of course she'll remember.

He stopped the bike near, "St. Mary's Orphanage" He entered the orphanage with a smile plastered on his face. A boy saw him and went running inside the building and after a few minutes the nuns and children of the orphanage trickled down in the lawn of the building. The nuns wished him and blessed him. He felt a tuck on his jacket and bent down smilingly to face Chandu.

Chandu - happy birthday Kabir Bhaiyya.

Kabir- Thank you shona.

Chandu- (making baby face) App phirse cake bhul gaye naa?

Kabir- (making a sad face, holding his ears) oops, sorry...

Chandu- But I have a cake for you...

Kabir- (acting surprised) Really? (kissing her cheeks) par mujhe toh apni sweet dish mil gayi...

He turned when he heard a boy say, "Sweet dish toh yaahan hai..." It was Rohan. He held a small tray with Oreo biscuits arranged like a cake with a small candle in the middle.

Kabir-(surprised) Wow, this is so nice.

They shared the biscuits, sang, danced and played games. Kabir was waiting for Nisha's cal from the past 2 hours. Finally his mobile rang. Thinking its Nisha, he hurriedly removed from his pocket, but it was Vrinda.

Vrinda- Hey Chocolaty boy, what's up?

Kabir-(irritated) yaahan toh sky's up, wahaan kuch aur hai kya?

Vrinda- (faking laughter) Best joke of the year(now serious) Bol naa...(excited) Nisha wished you?

Kabir-(sadly)Nope, Nisha forgot... Waise bhi usmein naya kya hai, har saal main apna birthday akele hi celebrate karta hoon, iss baar inn bacchon ke saath kiya that's it...

Chandu called him so he cut the call, and went. She looked at him sadly from her hiding place, the pillar and murmured, "I promise you Kabir, iss saal ka birthday, tu akela nahi manayega." And left.

Nisha had came there to meet the children but heard screams and laughter from the lawn and saw Kabir playing with them like there was no tomorrow. The smile on his face bought a smile on hers too, but when she saw the sadness in his eyes, she felt miserable.

*After 2 hours*

Kabir bid goodbye to the kids and went to the beach. The sea and he were closely connected. He looked at the waves and smiled as he remembered the faint memories of him running on the warm sand and his dad running after him while his mom stood a little away adoring the duo. He sat there for some time watching the people enjoy the sun, sea, wind, sand and with each other.

A couple passed him. They were holding hands and the girl was resting her head on the boy's shoulder. How he wished to be with Nisha like that. He was so caught up in his loneliness that he didn't realize that the sun went in west horizon, finally reality struck him and he left for home.

He rang the doorbell but no one opened so he opened the door with his keys. The house was filled with darkness. Suddenly the lights shone bright n he heard a loud "SURPRISE" He looked in shock at the smiling faces of Nisha, Saurav, Dolly, Aman, Umesh, Kirti, Sukku, Mr. and Mrs. Saxena.

Nisha hugged him and wished him followed by others. They then cut the cake (which Nisha had baked), sang the birthday songs.

Saurav- Now starts the real party...

Mr Saxena- Well, bacchon ki party hai, hum chalte hai...

Nisha and Kabir tried to stop them but they left.

They played games, joked around, danced.

Kirti-Ek minute, humne kabhi Kabir ko Nisha ko propose karte hua suna hi nahi...Aaj toh occasion hai, shaam itni khoobsurat hai...(to Kabir) Kabir yaar, ek proposal toh banta hai...

NiBir's eyes fell out of their sockets. Dolly and Saurav giggled while others started screaming, "Kabir Nisha ko Propose Karo, propose karo."

Kabir- Thikh hai, fine. Aisa propose karunga that you all will be shocked.

Now Nisha was shocked to death. "Hope he doesn't do something cheesy"

Kabir- (kneeling infront of her) Nishaji, agar Shivji ne chaha toh humara ek pyaara sa lalla hoga, kya aap uski maa banegi?

All were quiet and looked at him in shock. Kabir burst out laughing.

Kirti- What the hell was that?

Kabir- Tumne Raj Kapoor ki movie nahi dekhi, usmein bhi unhone aise hi propose kiya tha...

Umesh-(angrily) Kabir...

He grabbed some cake and threw in his direction. In few minutes, Cake War hit the Saxena House's 2^nd floor.

As everyone was enjoying,

Kabir- (to Nisha) Waise don't worry, I don't want my kids to have a jhalli mom like you...

Nisha stared at him in shock, which turned into anger. She ran after him. Dolly saw this and signalled Saurav. When Nisha decreased distance between herself and Kabir, Saurav kept his feet infront her leg. Nisha tripped and screamed. Kabir turned and before he knew what happened he slipped over the fallen cake and Nisha fell on him.

They were lost in each other's eyes while the other's looked at them in shock. Aman, Kirti and Dolly said in unison, "Awww..."

Nisha came out of her trance and looked at Dolly, Aman and Kirti. She stood up and helped Kabir up.

Umesh- Kabir, are you interested in acting?

Kabir- (confused) Kyun?

Sukku- nahi, kyunki Viraj sir wanted to launch new faces in the new romantic flick, so you and Nisha will be perfect.

Nisha and Kabir looked at each other awkwardly while others laughed. After some time, they helped NiBir clean the house and left.

Nisha- So, enjoyed?

Kabir- Enjoyed? This was the best birthday ever...

Nisha- ek minute...

Kabir- Kya hua?

Nisha- Ruk naa...

She gave him a box wrapped in blue color.

Kabir- Iski kya jaroort thi?

Nisha- Kholke toh dekh...

Kabir unwrapped the gift and his eyes glistened with tears. During his treatment, his dad had written a dairy which his mom had gifted him when he was 15. He thought he had lost it. He hugged Nisha and cried but the only word he said was thank you.

Nisha- (breaking the hug) Tujhe laga tha ki yeh kho gayi naa? It was in your bag itself.

Kabir -Thanks.

That night, when Nisha entered the bedroom, she saw Kabir sleeping with an innocent smile on his face. After all, he had found his dad that day and happiness isn't just smiling all the time, it's all about holding the moment close to your heart.
