Part 3: I don't deserve her

At first the brothers didn't know how to react to the frightened woman in front of them. They lead her in, made her sit down and gave her a glass of water.
"What happened?", Kabir asked anxiously. He was scared that it's bad news.
"You need to save Nisha", Rupan chachi said, " It's Sumit. He did all of this and he trapped me too. He's going to destroy the family and it's my fault."
She started crying uncontrollably.

Just then the doorbell rang again.
"That must be him", Rupan said with fear," He can't know that I'm here. "
Kabir took her to the nearest room. They both his there while Sumit was let in.

"Mr.Viraj. This is a perfect chance for you to show the family that you are worthy of Nisha. I have told them about the contract and that Kabir kidnapped her. It was me though. I got her kidnapped."

Viraj wanted to kick the man out of his house. He could see Kabir in the nearest room while Sumit's back was against the room. The younger brother bade Viraj to calm down. Some how he knew what Kabir wanted him to do.

"Thanks Sumit.", he said with a fake smile," You have saved my love life. How can I ever thank you."
Sumit handed him the address where Nisha is kept.
"Take Nisha back home. You'll be the hero and Kabir will be out of the way for good."
Sumit smirked and Viraj gave a fake smile.
"I'll take leave. I have other things to attend to", Sumit said and left.

Rupan and Kabir came out of the room.
"This is all my fault", Rupan chachi said weeping.
She told the brothers about everything.
"Today I realized that all this was his plan. He's not going to help me. He is doing this for himself."

"You stay here", Kabir said, "We'll get Nisha back."
The two men left the woman to cry out of fear and regression while they went after the woman they love.

Nisha was struggling to untie herself. Her screams were useless as they seemed to have taken her to the middle of nowhere.

"Stop trying sweetheart", one of the goons said, "You can't get out."
They all laughed.
"While we are at it. Why not have some fun.", suggested another.

Nisha panicked. Her childhood trauma flashed before her eyes. She felt like history was repeating. She closed her eyes and kept repeating one thing over and over again.
"Kabir! Where are you? I need you? Please help me!!"

Next she heard was a series of kicks and punches. She opened her eyes to find Kabir fighting off the goons. She was so happy that her eyes filled with tears. He came for her. He came to save her. Then she saw Viraj. Her smile faded a little.

It wasn't long before the two men chased away the goons. Kabir rushed to Nish's side and untied her.
"Kabir!", the raven head said, her eyes filled with tears.
"It's okay. ", he assured her with a kiss on her forehead, " I'm here now and I'm never leaving."
They hugged each other. Kabir held on tight and never wanted to let go. Nisha let herself go and the tears flowed onto Kabir's shoulder.

"Ms.Nisha?!", Viraj interrupted the love birds.
The couple broke the hug. Out of the emotional overdose Viraj hugged Nisha. The girl didn't know how to respond. Kabir on the other hand retreated from them and headed outside.

Kabir reached home all broken, physically and emotionally. He hurt his arm but it didn't hurt as much as seeing Viraj and Nisha together. He started searching for the first aid when he realized that he didn't know where it is. It was always Nisha who nursed him back to health.

Kabir wanted to stop Viraj from hugging Nisha bit he knew. He knew that he had no right to.
"But then I did I feel possessive about her?", he wondered," She's just my friend. One of my best friends. Then why did I feel like my world has come to an end when she got kidnapped? Why did I feel so relieved and beyond happy on seeing her? Why did I feel so jealous, like my heart broke into a million pieces when Viraj hugged her?Am I in lov-"

"No no kabire", he interrupted his thoughts," You and love?! How is that possible?"
"Oh", his subconscious said, "So you are arguing that you don't love her then why can't you stand seeing her upset? Why do you always flirt with her? Why do you always protect her from Viraj's aggressiveness? Why would you come back when you could have run away?"
"Because she's one of my best friends?", he said.
"Then why did you almost kiss her? ", his mind questioned him.

Kabir didn't have an explanation for that. He knew that only one thing made sense right now.
" I love her ", he said out loud, " I love my wifey."
A wide smile appeared on his face. He felt like he was on cloud nine but one thought brought him back to earth.
"But my brother, Viraj", he thought," He loves her too, for longer than I ever have. He's my family. The family that I've always wanted...a complete one. She still has a soft corner for him and he still loves her. I shouldn't come in between them. I won't "

Kabir wiped the tears that unknowingly flowed down his cheeks. He's not going to come in the way of his brother's happiness or the happiness of the girl he loves. He didn't want to go to London, not without Nisha but he has to. He had to leave without her. Kabir felt she belonged in India with Viraj. He didn't deserve her, his elder brother did.

The browned eyed hunk packed his bag, left a note on their bed and left. Before closing the door he took one last look at the house, at the wedding photo in their bedroom.

He took the sweet memories that he and Nisha had in the house. The way the cleaned it up,their cooking disasters,the times when Nisha took care of his wounds,their celebration that he got into London School of Dance,their dances. Everything.
Kabir turned away and left the house. He took everything that ever indicated that he was there except the wedding photo of his and Nisha's.

The house was incomplete without Kabir just like his love.
