It was a beautiful morning, sun was shining bright, the birds were chirping about and two people, a boy and a girl were lying on a bed in the Gangwal house hugging each other, the girl with her head on the crook of the boy's neck, both slightly smiling in their sleep.The sun's rays reached the girl's face she was now waking up slightly annoyed at the light...she began burying her head further into the boy's chest. She brought up her hands tightly hugging the boy's body like a pillow. Suddenly realization dawned on her she was hugging someone, her eyes snapped open. She was snuggling close to him, his lips touching her forehead his hands encircling her body...
AAAGHHH...Nisha screamed. Poor Kabir fell of the bed landing on his back side he cried out.
"Kyun yaar tumhe mujhse kyaa dushmani hai ki tum subha subha mujhe marwaane meim padi ho ?".
"WHAT THE HECK WERE YOU DOING IN MY BED KABIR?."
"Arrey yaar Why would people lie on the bed...i was sleeping yaar..."
" ON MY BED ? WHAT ARE U DOING IN MY BED LYING WITH ME..."Nisha's mouth was clamped shut by Kabir.
"Nisha tum yeh kya keh rehi ho.." Kabir whisphered rapidly.
Nisha tried to talk against Kabir's hands, a wimper came out.she started struggling and finally bit Kabir's palm which was over her mouth
"AWW... yaar tu pagal hai kya ?" Kabir asked howling in pain.
"MEIN PAGAL HUN ? TUM MERE BED PE MERE SAATH..." Nisha was screaming when Kabir again grabbed her by her mouth wrapping one hand on her waist and hugging her from behind
"Arrey chup yaar...chillana bandh karo...do you even realize the things u are screaming can be taken wrong on so many levels ? Kabir whisphered rapidly in her ears.
Realisation suddenly dawned upon Nisha. She blushed bright red , heat radiated off of her face. Kabir continued.
"Kal hi humara shaddi hui hai, agar tu aise chillayenge toh tumhare gharwalon ko lagega ki...Kabir trailed off.
That's when Nisha noticed the mirror opposite them, holding their reflection. Kabir was so close to her that not even air could pass between them. His right hand was on her mouth , his left hand...his left hand was wrapped around her waist. His head over her shoulders, mouth close to her ear as if he was kissing there. She was wearing her white sleeveless tee and sweat pants , her usual night clothes the only difference were the bright red spot of sindoor on her maang and the mehendi in her hands which was so red that it seemed as if she had dipped her hands in blood. Kabir was wearing his black baniyan and white sweat pants. The muscles on the hands which held her rippled. Nisha noticed that his face was bright red too maybe from the explanation he had to do. Nisha saw herself wide eyed in the mirror
Kabir followed her gaze to the mirror. Their eyes locked in the mirror. So many unsaid emotions passed between them. Each reminiscing the moments passed between them. The day they met at the velvet longue, Kabir's words to Nisha. The meeting on the bus, the journey on the roof of the bus, moments with chandu, the time Kabir introduced them as Mr and Mrs Sharma, the time Kabir hugged Nisha after Chandu was kidnapped, the time he hugged her apologizing for bringing up viraj, the time they disguised as Rajastanis, him saving her from a bullet, ofcourse their unintentional marriage, they remembered their hesitant goodbye, the time Kabir called her to make her talk to her dad, the words Kabir had spoken to Bhabhiji and her men, Nisha's response when he came back, the holi challenge which Nisha lost, him applying color on her,the times he had cheered her up after Viraj breaking her heart, their dance which they enjoyed so much, his antics to save the magazine and finally the latest memory their marriage. The thing was that they both knew that they were thinking about these moments.
Finally both averted their gaze Kabir slowly took back his hand without looking at Nisha and moved to the bed side. He didn't know what to do. Nisha's state was no better. Finally Kabir said.
"Woh mein kal...shayad tumhe yaad hoga hum kal bath kar rehi thi bed pe and u fell asleep...so I was thinking about u know things and I didn't know when I fell asleep."Kabir said without looking at Nisha."Aaj se mein floor pe sounga...teek hai ?".
"Koi zaroorat nahi hum dono turns le lenge...for u know sleeping on the floor" Said Nisha without looking at Kabir."Mein washroom jaa rehi hu." Nisha quikly took her things and was about to leave when Kabir called her. She raised her eyebrows .
"Good morning wifey" Kabir said trying to bring out the irritated Nisha with his goofy grin
Nisha first wanted to strangle him but then thought better of it and said.
"Good morning Jaanu."She winked and turned leaving behind a shocked Kabir to contemplate what just happened.
