Umm, since I am binging MATSH now, can talk about a couple of sequences I liked, if you are interested.

I am always interested in listening...erm I mean reading. 😆

Then again, Rabri ko leke na sahi Jalebi ko leke thoda bohut fireworks ho rahe hain. Muhahahahahahaha!!! 😈 😈 😈

Yeah... I read the first post in that forum. Looks like Alif ki Laila has found a tough competitor in terms of being irritating... 😆

Cool. 😈

Like Madhura used to say, every serial has its portion of good and bad things.

One thing I really liked was the 25-30 episodes they had shot post the leads' marriage. We have seen countless love-hate marriage and I had actually read the synopsis first and started watching from their wedding. The ML buried the hatchet. When he married the FL, he was fully committed and didn't do any sort of manhandling.

The FL, although showed some tantrums in the first 2 episodes, I liked it when her mother told her to keep her marriage a personal matter and not to make a Tamasha out of it, she did that.

They were childhood buddies and in those episodes they actually behaved cordially enough and the girl started respecting the boy as a person, not just her best friend.

Now the bad thing about it was once again Sonali Jaffar who is fond of extreme negativity. 🤬 🤬 🤬

Ishani misunderstanding Ranveer to be the murderer of her father to learning the truth - storywise it was necessary.

Because from the promo I gathered that the show started from the ML's POV - how he had always loved the FL who considered her as a friend. So yes, it was necessary that she misunderstood him, then realized her fault and finally started seeing him as her husband.

The problem once again was the 180 degree flip the ML took. He was justified but the way he behaved in his anger and publicly insulted the FL so many times - it wasn't done considering the same guy would have never disrespected any woman. Why so much blackwashing of ML and whitewashing of FL?

But I loved the confession scene. It was honest and now I understand why Madhura included it in her list of favorite confession scenes.

And a scene I really liked and gonna pakao you with is a firefly sequence. 😈 😈 😈

It was when Ishani was confused as she was getting proofs that Ranveer had killed her father but couldn't really believe it. So during a function when Ranveer was talking about companionship and other things, she had asked something like what would you do on a new-moon? When there is so much darkness, from where will you bring light? So she entered into her room and found a jar full of fireflies and Ranveer told her that now there won't be any darkness in her life.

Nazar has a special place for fireflies but I've got to admit a lot of times they made it look like bugs.

Here the fireflies actually looked like fireflies and I loved it.

Third, I am in love with the antagonist. The only sequence I had watched when the show was actually on air was when Hritika stabbed Ishani and left her to die. This is one episode that I am not gonna delete because I really loved the actress's smirk and the way she was talking. 😈 😈 😈

Me and my love for antagonists! ☺️ ☺️ smiley43 smiley42

Yup! Thankfully some people have the sense to differentiate between forced comedy whereas someone special has this unique capability of turning anything into a romantic justification and supporting both the couples.

Oh wow... Now this is interesting. The ML buried the hatchet? He was fully committed and did not do any sort of manhandling?? Great... This is something new...

The FL, although showed some tantrums in the first 2 episodes, I liked it when her mother told her to keep her marriage a personal matter and not to make a Tamasha out of it, she did that.

A good advice...

They were childhood buddies and in those episodes they actually behaved cordially enough and the girl started respecting the boy as a person, not just his best friend.

Interesting dynamics I should say... You must have enjoyed it.

Now the bad thing about it was once again Sonali Jaffar who is fond of extreme negativity. 🤬 🤬 🤬

Ishani misunderstanding Ranveer to be the murderer of her father to learning the truth - storywise it was necessary.

Well, this is a common twist that I have seen several times... Bas what matters to me is that whether it was handled logically/decently or the CVs made a mess out of it.

Because from the promo I gathered that the show started from the ML's POV - how he had always loved the FL who considered her as a friend. So yes, it was necessary that she misunderstood him, then realized her fault and finally started seeing him as his husband.

Okay... So, the show started from the ML's POV as to how he always loved the FL and she considered him as her best friend.

Realisation of the fault is the most important thing... And I am glad she was shown realising her fault and then seeing him as her husband.

The problem once again was the 180 degree flip the ML took. He was justified but the way he behaved in his anger and publicly insulted the FL so many times - it wasn't done considering the same guy would have never disrespected any woman. Why so much blackwashing of ML and whitewashing of FL?

Again I am not surprised... Seems like this flipping of the ML's character is one of the most common things shown in most of the shows...

Whitewashing of FL and blackwashing of ML... Most common things.

But I loved the confession scene. It was honest and now I understand why Madhura included it in her list of favorite confession scenes.

Great... 👍🏼

No problem... Pakao. 😆

When there is so much darkness, from where will you bring light? So she entered into her room and found a jar full of fireflies and Ranveer told her that now there won't be any darkness in her life.

Hmmm... Sounds interesting.

I must say, the entire scene seems to be very well written and we'll performed... Fireflies being related to light...sounds really nice. A nice comparison was done...

New moon defining darkness as there is no moon to illuminate the night but the fireflies signifying light...again another gift of nature.

Sorry for this illogical comment... I know iska show se koi lena-dena nahi hai. Bas man main aaya to bol diya.

Nazar has a special place for fireflies but I've got to admit a lot of times they made it look like bugs.

Even I admit this thing... At times they did make the fireflies look like bugs.

Upar se the fireflies in broad daylight... That was ultimate!!!

Here the fireflies actually looked like fireflies and I loved it.

That's good...

Third, I am in love with the antagonist. The only sequence I had seen when the show was actually on air was when Hritika stabbed Ishani and left her to die. This is one episode that I am not gonna delete because I really loved the actress's smirk and the way she was talking.

Hmmm... A decent antagonist? Sounds interesting again... Waise bhi, you rarely find shows where you get to praise the antagonist...at least this is the case when I am searching for shows. I love to see a strong antagonist in front of the protagonists.

Me and my love for antagonists! ☺️ ☺️ smiley43 smiley42

Even I have a special love for antagonists...but only smart, cunning and capable of giving the protagonists a run for their money. Plus the fact that the actor(s) portraying the antagonist(s) should be decent.

Yup! Thankfully some people have the sense to differentiate between forced comedy whereas someone special has this unique capability of turning anything into a romantic justification and supporting both the couples.

Definitely... I was glad to see that at least someone had the sense to differentiate between forced comedy and actual comedy.

Oh wow... Now this is interesting. The ML buried the hatchet? He was fully committed and did not do any sort of manhandling?? Great... This is something new...

Well, from the FBs I gathered that the ML married the FL to save her from public humiliation. And also because he really respected her father and wanted to fulfill his last wish - to keep his daughter happy.

But yes, there was not a single act of mishandling from his side post their marriage, until the MU. And another good thing was, he was very open. Like, the girl knew he loved her since childhood but he was expressive yet happy with only her friendship, even after their marriage. He made it clear -

Mera akela ka pyaar kaafi hain hum dono ke liye. 😭 😭 😭

Interesting dynamics I should say... You must have enjoyed it.

I actually did. I saved a couple of episodes also. Radhika was average but Shakti Arora was really good. 👏 👏 👏 Such a shame that Silsila makers couldn't make best use of his talent. 🤬 🤬 🤬

Well, this is a common twist that I have seen several times... Bas what matters to me is that whether it was handled logically/decently or the CVs made a mess out of it.

Umm, I would say it's 50/50. I mean Ishani's progression wasn't too sudden or too melodramatic. But certain behavior of Ranveer was really OTT and typical ITVish. A guy who didn't touch his wife in her intoxicated state, suddenly he comes home with another woman and takes her to their bedroom while the wife is present just to spite her - what sort of BS was that? 🤬 🤬 🤬

Realisation of the fault is the most important thing... And I am glad she was shown realising her fault and then seeing him as her husband.

Me too. What I hated was that suddenly she was turned into a Mahaan FL, justifying every damn insult and the ML was totally blackwashed. I liked it from the point when she actually asked that what could she do for him to trust her again? And just before the confession when she made it clear that what she was doing with her ex (Antagonist at that point).

Again I am not surprised... Seems like this flipping of the ML's character is one of the most common things shown in most of the shows...

Whitewashing of FL and blackwashing of ML... Most common things.

It is. 🤔 But SJ is the worst. 🤬 She showed it in KD and YHM too. But once you take some extreme steps, it's impossible to look at you with respect no matter how justified you are. And SJ ruined the MLs at certain points when it would have been 1000 times better if they had maintained their integrity and the FLs had gotten a chance to talk properly instead of all the drama.

No problem... Pakao. 😆

Thodi der baad clip bhejte hain. 😈

Hmmm... Sounds interesting.

I get that. Actually in Nazar they had incorporated the same metaphor. Piya being the purveyor of white magic and fireflies leading Ansh to her.

Here it was just darkness. The FL was at war with her instincts that how could such a loving person kill her father and whether she should trust him or not? So in a conversation the guy was talking all romantic with full-moon and all and she talked about new-moon.

Upar se the fireflies in broad daylight... That was ultimate!!!

Hmmm... A decent antagonist? Sounds interesting again... Waise bhi, you rarely find shows where you get to praise the antagonist...at least this is the case when I am searching for shows. I love to see a strong antagonist in front of the protagonists.

Well, I mean the performance. Frankly I loved Hritika as the best friend who stood by Ranveer and helped clearing the MU between the leads. Then the sudden flip in her character was extreme and I would say that was the beginning of the end of this serial. They should have ended it with the confession itself.

But the actress was amazing. 👏 👏 👏 Be it the supporting best friend or the psychotic villain - she nailed it. 👏 👏 👏

Hmm, I am gonna pakao you with her. 😈 😈 😈

Another technical thing I liked about the stabbing shot was that in Nazar, it was glaringly obvious each time they showed someone to stab another that it wasn't a person and some prop covered with same clothes. Considering Ekta and her VFX, from technical point it was quite amazing. Like she was talking and suddenly stabbed and it actually looked like she hit the girl.

Definitely... I was glad to see that at least someone had the sense to differentiate between forced comedy and actual comedy.

Yes, I actually liked the post because such posts should be appreciated. Noticed another one where someone said it was unique but now Jalebi was mimicking Aladdin which he/she found insulting as a fan. If only these people knew the amount of copying they have done from Nazar!

But again, there is someone else who has the unique capability of turning anything into a romantic justification and supporting both the couples...

Playing safe.

Koi baat nahi... 😊

Well, from the FBs I gathered that the ML married the FL to save her from public humiliation. And also because he really respected her father and wanted to fulfill his last wish - to keep his daughter happy.

Hmmm... Saving the FL from public humiliation... Again something repetitive. I have seen this happening in several shows when I read their synopsis.

The respect part is something really interesting...

But yes, there was not a single mishandling act from his post their marriage until the MU. And another good thing was, he was very open. Like, the girl knew he loved her since childhood but he was expressive yet happy with only her friendship, even after their marriage. He made it clear -

Mera pyaar kaafi hain hum dono ke liye.

Now, this is really good to hear... No mishandling on the part of the ML plus the fact that he was comfortable with her friendship even though he loved her... Interesting.

I actually did. I saved a couple of episodes also. Radhika was average but Shakti Arora was really good. 👏 👏 👏

That's good to know... 😊

Such a shame that Silsila makers couldn't make best use of his talent. 🤬 🤬 🤬

Well, ab ispar hum kya kahe? Bas itna hi keh sakte hain ki it's indeed a shame...

Umm, I would say it's 50/50. I mean Ishani's progression wasn't too sudden or too melodramatic. But certain behavior of Ranveer was really OTT and typical ITVish. A guy who didn't touch his wife in her intoxicated state, suddenly he comes home with another woman and takes her to their bedroom while the wife is present - what sort of BS was that? 🤬 🤬 🤬

Okay... This is completely bakwas. 🤬

I liked it from the point when she actually asked that what could she do so that he would trust her again? And just before the confession when she made it clear that what was she doing with her ex (Antagonist at that point).

Hmmm... Not surprised once again. A mahaan FL and a completely blackwashed ML... Not surprised.

At some point or the other, they tend to make the FL ultra mahaan and the ML being completely blackwashed.

It is. But SJ is the worst. She showed it in KD and YHM too. But once take some extreme steps, it's actually impossible to look at you with respect no matter how justified you are. And SJ ruined the MLs at certain points when it would have been 1000times better if they had maintained their integrity and the FLs had gotten a chance to talk properly instead of all the drama.

Well, once again I haven't seen any of these shows so I will go by your judgement.

Rest, I just hate such things...

Thodi der baad clip bhejte hain. 😈

Bhej dena... Will watch a little later as right now I am watching a movie. 😆

Uske baad, I will pakao you in return with something else.

I get that. Actually in Nazar they had incorporated the same metaphor. Piya being the purveyor of white magic and fireflies leading Ansh to her.

Agree completely...

Here it was just darkness. The FL was at war with her instincts that how could such a loving person kill her father and whether she should trust him or not. So in a conversation the guy was talking all romantic with full-moon and all and she talked about new-moon.

I can understand... A comparison and talks regarding full moon and new moon... A nice reference and parallels.

Well, I mean the performance. Frankly I loved Hritika as the best friend who stood by Ranveer and helped clearing the MU between the leads. Another technical thing I liked about the stabbing shot was that in Nazar, it's glaringly obvious each time they showed someone to stab another that it wasn't a person and some prop covered with similar clothes. Considering Ekta and her VFX, from technical point it was quite amazing. Like she was talking and suddenly stabbed and it actually looked like she hit the girl.

Agree completely with you on this too... Have nothing more to add regarding technicalities.

Yes, I actually liked the post because such posts should be appreciated. Noticed another one where someone said it was unique but now Jalebi was mimicking Aladdin which he/she found insulting as a fan. If only these people knew the amount of copying they have done from Nazar!

Well, for that they need to have a basic idea regarding Nazar... Besides, I did come across a couple of posts when the show began. I guess that certain someone (you know whom I am talking about) pointed out the similarities between Nazar and Alif Laila and the fans there gave the explanation that copying is done everywhere. All the shows copy something or the other...

Playing safe.

True enough... 🤔

Well, he was their driver's son. Despite that, the father was really affectionate towards him and made sure he received the same education as his children. So he really loved and respected the girl's father.

Definitely! If only they had finished it with the confession, I would include it in my list of good ITV love stories but ultimately they turned it into crappy drama.

Yeah, I remember. I commented on a couple of posts too but then kuch logo ko bohut mirchi lagi thi ki kyun bar bar comparison kiya ja raha hain to main forum chod ke aa gayi.

Agar technical term pe bole then it's true. Every PH or same writer copy-paste things. I mean, after I saw certain scenes of MATSH I got confused because it resembled both YHM and KD. Then I checked in WiKi and got to know that SJ was the writer. But the thing is, even when the same plot or scene was introduced, there was a bit of variation and it's not that bas ek hi show har bar behtar kar raha tha.

Like the extreme fear regarding injection, they showed it in both YHM and KD. But in YHM, they went overboard and I enjoyed the KD version more. Both were unrealistic but KD was comparatively better.

Then again, playing a prank on the spouse on a lonely road - YHM version was amazing while the MATSH version was better in terms of certain dialogues. In fact, mujhe Nazar aur Naman yaad aa gaya tha uss time pe -

Dhai kilo ka haat hain, itni ahsani se nahi chootega. 🤣 🤣 🤣

Shower scene - MATSH was thousand times better than YHM.

Setting the bed on fire, showed it in both KD and MATSH but despite being the better actor (at that point) I feel Sana went overboard while Radhika's version was more impactful.

And how can I forget than manhoos walking on burning coal sequence shown in all three shows. However KD was better.

MATSH seemed like the girl was walking on flower petals and YHM as usual went overboard.

So ultimately there was variation. 👍🏼 Every show had shot some sequences better and faltered at points.

But every time they copied something from Nazar, Jinn s***ed big time - be it the sequence or acting or fighting. And I am talking about couple of light scenes in shows that they had repeated in 100+ episodes. Here they copy pasted every damn thing. So giving the justification that same PH, even that had become pointless within 50 episodes.

Well, this is something really interesting... Else most of the times they show either the ML or the FL's family insulting the other one as they are not of the same status.

Definitely! If only they had finished it with the confession, I would include it in my list of good ITV love stories but ultimately they turned it into crappy drama.

Ah... That would have been great. But unfortunately, like all other shows, they had to mess up with it too...

Any normal person would.

Unfortunately, seeing the number of people who enjoy watching such things makes me feel that I am the abnormal one... 🤔

Well, this is something really interesting... Else most of the times they show either the ML or the FL's family insulting the other one as they are not of the same status.

Hate to disappoint you behna, but it wasn't that novel of a concept. I mean, majority of the family members were okay. But we had that quintessential evil grandma and one of the siblings was pure evil. But the FL and her father shared great bond with the boy; specially the father. Even when the enmity cropped up, the boy was always respectful towards the father as he was his mentor.

Unfortunately, seeing the number of people who enjoy watching such things makes me feel that I am the abnormal one... 🤔

I know that feeling. 🤔 Felt the same way until I started reading comments on the international shows and realized sensible and mandbuddhi wale - dono team hi bharpur hain. But we, as in people in this sub-continent, we do have excessive hypocrisy like western itself means bad and we are bharpur sanskari and the same sentiment regarding pathetic storyline. As if only love matters but grey characters or sensible plots hardly get their due. Not to mention the pseudo educated people who talks about modern thinking but can't see anything beyond hot romance.

That's why I was quite shocked at the beginning that how could Madhura keep her calm there!!! 😲 😲 😲 The day she joined us, I was singing that last song of Angrezi Medium with a slight change in the lyrics; instead of My Darling Daughter, You Are Always Welcome, I was singing in my mind - Aa Jao Bahen! Kab Se Tumhara Hi To Prateeksha Thi!!! 🤣 🤣 🤣

BTW, should I send you YouTube link or Voot link of the clips? The episodes they have uploaded in YouTube, audio is paused in some portion for copyright infringement. I am not entirely sure if the discussed sequences fall under that category or not. 🤔

Ah so there was something which is not different... 😆

I was actually waiting for this... I knew poori family main se koi na koi, daadi/chacha/tau/chachi/tai to evil niklega hi... And obviously, we need to have an evil sibling. Neither surprised nor disappointed. 😆

Grey characters are hardly praised... But it is only the grey characters/antagonists who mainly spice up the story most of the times. Warna it becomes a boring saga... At least for me.

That was the basic thing yaar, majority of them were blind fangirls who wouldn't want to listen to any logic and why waste time in arguing with such people?

Eggjactlyy!! Majority of them were and still are blind fangirls who don't want to listen to any logic.

They are just like an ostrich who buries its head in the sand and thinks that the predator won't be able to see it. Similarly, by closing their minds they think that the others too won't be able to find the shortcomings of the show...

I am literally rolling, laughing imagining the scenario. 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣🤣 🤣

Ah so there was something which is not different... 😆

I was actually waiting for this... I knew poori family main se koi na koi, daadi/chacha/tau/chachi/tai to evil niklega hi... And obviously, we need to have an evil sibling. Neither surprised nor disappointed. 😆

😈 😆 😆 😆 😈

Plotwise I found one thing refreshing - generally we see the show from FL's eyes, her POV. This show started with the ML's POV. 👍🏼

Agree completely with you...

Grey characters are hardly praised... But it is only the grey characters/antagonists who mainly spice up the story most of the times. Warna it becomes a boring saga... At least for me.

Couldn't agree more! 🤗

Agreed!!! smiley31 🤗 🤗

I am literally rolling, laughing imagining the scenario. 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣🤣 🤣

🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣

Same here... Even I was shocked at the beginning that how could Madhura keep her calm there... I would have lost my cool and blasted them the second or the third day itself...phir chahe mods ban hi kyon na kar dete. 🤔

@pink: me too... 🤣 🤣 🤣
