People forget you if you are out of sight: Barkha Bisht
- Barkha Bisht is back on the small screen after replacing Rupali Ganguly in the show 'Parvarrish - Kuchh Khatti Kuchh Meethi'. The actor, who has done a few shows like 'Pyar Ke Do Naam... Ek Raadha Ek Shyaam' and 'Sajan Ghar Jaana Hai' in the past, is happy to be back on television.
"In television, people usually forget you if you are out of sight for a long time. This is a new start for me," says Barkha. How challenging is it to replace an already established character on a show? She says, "A character forms a certain connect with the audience, and stepping into someone else's shoes is definitely challenging. The best part about the show is that it is taking a leap of two years, which will work in my favour."
Barkha, who will be playing Shweta Tiwari's younger sister in the show, is quite excited to work with her. "I remember working with Shweta in Kasauti Zindagii Kay, in which I did a cameo. I am looking forward to working with her again," she says.
Barkha has returned to TV after a two-year break post her delivery in October 2011. How has motherhood changed you? "For me, having a baby was one of the happiest moments in my life. It's an amazing experience to watch your child grow. My daughter Meira, who has just turned one-and-a-half, has taught me a lot of patience, which I think is needed in a daily soap too," says Barkha with a laugh.
The actor, who will be playing Ranveer Singh's bhabhi in the movie Ram Leela, is all praise for the actor. She says, "Ranveer is extremely charming, well-spoken and a hardworking actor. I was a bit nervous when we started shooting and did a lot of re-takes. He was very supportive and helped me overcome my apprehensions."
