Its time for the new DOTW for the month of March! (Second week of March to be precise!)
As we all know, the show Navya is at a point where Navya and Anant's financial hurdles have been slightly sorted out. But since this is a Hindi Daily Soap, the lead pair always has to face some sort of problem or the other!
Sugandha Bajpaayee (Anant's mother) has just visited Navya and given her an earful about how everyone is suffering because of Navya's mistake, and how Nimisha's (Anant's cousin sister) marriage is at stake cause they have left the house, and she's made Navya promise to ensure that Anant and Navya will celebrate Holi with the Bajpaayees! And we know for a fact that Navya is gonna heed to her request and make Anant celebrate holi with his family!

But is this correct? Is this unfair treatment of the DILs justified? Today is International Women's Day. Keeping this in mind, I have come up with a question for all of you.
What do you think about the unfair treatment of women in Hindi Daily Soaps? While channels and PHs are certainly coming up with interesting taglines and new concepts and refreshing characters, the majority of the shows (especially the ones that garner the highest TRPs) depict a submissive DIL and a khadoos saas/bhabhi/nanan/etc. Is this "devi maiiya" attitude of the DILs justified? Is the "Komolikka" attitude of the saas/bhabhi/nanan/etc. justified?
I do know that we've begun to see female leads who are loud and outspoken, but we have very few of those. Most of them are still behaving like reincarnations of "devi maiiya" herself!
This DOTW gives you a chance to speak up for the portrayal of Indian Women on the small screen. Share your opinions on the issue, and take this opportunity to make your voice be heard. Who knows, some PH/Channel/CVs may read this and get inspired?
I hope you enjoy this DOTW and there are some healthy and mature discussions that take place! Over to you all now!
Cheers,
Ritchelle
