Our Star Plus Show Maryada lekin Kab Tak, inspite of its bold story line and strong star cast, is unable to garner good TRP ratings and has been under a scanner.

Recently there was a news that the show was to go off air on 25th January 2012. However the viewers and the makers breathed a sigh of relief when it got an extention. The ongoing justice and courtroom drama against Brahmanand Jhakkar, so far has been quite gripping and engaging for its audiences.

But looks like all is not well with the cast of the show and as per the latest news,Daksh Ajit Singh aka Gaurav Jhakkar who is essaying a gay character, is all set to quit the show.

In a conversation with Rangmunch.TV Daksh confirmed the news saying "yes I am quitting Maryada. My contract got over and it was a mutual decision between the Production House and me, since I want to do something new. I have already started working on my next project which is a music album. I have written the lyrics, composed the music and will also be singing for my new album. I also wish to publish my first book. So there are a lot of things in the pipeline. Moreover I feel there is nothing much left in the character of Gaurav to portray onscreen. Hence I decided to concentrate on my other projects. Nonetheless, its been a wonderful journey as an actor and I am satisfied with whatever I got from Maryaada, the show. I have written the lyrics of Maryaada tracks Sajan Ji and Naina Banjare and made my debut in the televison industry as a lyricist. But quitting Maryaada definitely does not mean that I am quitting Television. I am open to acting and will definitely make a come back if I get a challenging role to play.

When asked what prompted him to take up a Gay character he said, "the character of Gaurav was explained in a very detailed manner to me. I was told that it's going to be differently portrayed, as we will be playing on emotions. I found that intriguing and decided to go for it. As an actor I have been very happy with the responses of the viewers. I was also told that the identity of this character will be revealed towards the end and its gonna shock everyone.

They considered me for the character of Gaurav also because my physical appreance do not give the impression of a Gay character. So for all the viewers it will be a surprise of the worst kind. I loved the challenge and hence took it up."

Daksh further confirmed that 25th January 2012, will be his last day of shoot on Maryaada Lekin Kab Tak.

I am sure this news will come as a shock to all the fans who loved Daksh aka Gaurav and watched Maryaada only to see his performance.
