Congzzz Usha😊...thanks Madhu 🤗and in the process of breaking my head to ask u some questions, i totally forgot to congratulate you...sorry!!...and know what, i looovvveee grilling lecturers😈...being a student, i'm always in the receiving end...so, why not some role reversal now???...hahaha...that's fair enough...
here goes my set of questions...1.Its the first day of the new semester...and CSB has opted to study FINANCE...and being a curious student, he sits in the front row...and you enter the class to see this curious oogling pair of eyes, thirsty for knowledge...and his first doubt..."Excuse me mam...i have a doubt...can u define finance...in pure pracheen Hindi"...Usha Mam, please clear your student's doubt.Aap vitt ke baare mein jaanna chahte hain? Thik hain, jaise hamare puranon ko padke, usey gyaan praapt karke aap achhe karm karke, punya karke apni jeevan ki poonji banaate hain, vaise hi vyavasay mein paison ki nivesh karke karobaar mein safalta paane ke liye aapko vitt, arthaat finance ki gyaan se aapko madad milega. Aur adhik jaankaari ke liye aap hamare kakshaa mein pratidin aaiye...2.Anant and Navya are your students...one day, while taking class, you see them looking at each other romantically, sending messages to one another inside the classroom...your immediate reaction?? will you feign ignorance?? or take strict action??In my initial days of teaching, I used to get distracted by ppl talking/whispering in class. These days, I have learnt to ignore and keep teaching. If Anya are distracting me from my teaching, I'd go up to them after the class and ask them to stop messaging or leave - I usually don't care about attendance, even if there is just a handful, but interested handful, I am happy to teach them...I don't have a problem with Anya messaging - but if it distracts me, it is unfair to the other students, because my train of thoughts get affected.3. Between a teacher and a student, the learning process is always mutual...what is that one ( or many) valuable thing(s) you have learnt from your students??Oh, so many things: from keeping in touch with the latest technology to teaching me patience (for an impatient person outside class, I am really a patient teacher - strange, na?), to keeping me organised in my work (if I promise my students something, I'll always keep it - again a paradox to my outside life), I owe lots of things to my students. In addition to teaching students, we also act as tutors (ie we are in charge of their non-academic stuff) and there I've come across students who battle illnesses, really stressful conditions at home, etc and still have a smile and positive approach - really admire their courage...
4. As a lecturer, you must have handled many batches, seen your own students pass out and make a big name for themselves in the outside world...what would be your piece of advice to every student like me, who is about to pass out of college and face the real world??Don't lose your thirst for knowledge, be sincere in whatever job you take up, make your alma mater proud! Till date you were reading books (mostly) for passing exams, now you have the chance pick up and read books because you really want to learn - use this opportunity to learn without the pressures of exams and marks...good luck and best wishes 😊Actually, i don't feel satisfied...i'll add a little more...5. Dada and Dhoni are great captains in their own right...and we know, comparisons are inevitable...Who is the greatest? Dada or Dhoni?...diplomacy is strictly banned for this answer...just one choice with reason...They are very different personalities of course and their style of managing their teams was so different...and I would never try to choose one or the other because they have both given a lot for us fans and this is not about diplomacy, it's what I genuinely feel. However, since you are asking for one name, I will go with Dhoni - not because he won the world cup (in fact if this summer's performance is taken into account, I am unable to face any of my English colleagues 😆), but because he is a cool-headed leader and I like that. But having said that...ok ok I'll stop here 😃, otherwise I'll keep bringing dada back into the pic...
6. I got totally excited when u mentioned Rafa is your favorite...mine too...but his recent losses, especially to Djokovic in the finals of grand slams, has everybody commenting about how his days are over and that he purely plays tennis as a power game rather than a classy game...in a situation like this, how will you defend Nadal as one of the best players??I'd ask these ppl to watch the latest US Open Finals - we wouldn't have had such a lovely game if one of the players wasn't playing classy...power game is really boring to watch, so if they liked the US Open Finals and thought it was a good match, surely they can see that Nadal still has it in him? Djokovic has up-ped his game, definitely. For Nadal it is all in the mind - if he can get his mental game back on, I am sure he will have a better season next year. It's too early to write him off...7. The upcoming marriage of Anant and Navya, has put Deepak in a tough spot, financially... how about a few ideas on how to manage the budget, from your side??I am always one for not over-stepping my finances. The kind of demands the Bajpais are putting on him, it will be never-ending! It's better to be frank and say - that's my budget and I'll do my best within my means. Plus I dislike spending oodles of money on a marriage (just a personal choice) when some of that money can be put to better use...Given that he is in a tight spot, I'd keep a tight rein on the budget - buy stuff from middleclass localities (in his case - go to Dadar, not town side) - there is always a locality premium... buy from shops rather than malls, etc. Make sure you have a master list of things required to avoid last-minute buys (which usually end up being costlier), shop around before making big purchases like jewellery/sarees...getting stuff from wholesale market areas can help (ingredients etc)...ask Meeta to raid her jewellery box - see if any can be polished and reused instead of buying all new stuff... just commonsense ideas I guess...
