I am not sure whether its just me but I find the introductions cheesy. The more I think about it I think in the name of entertainment there is more slapstick comedy than dancing. Last week I thought was bad and thought it could not get worse to realize I was totally wrong. I like chotte and bade but I think their comedy is not going down well right now for me. I hope that they are stopped from doing all this biscuit chai stuff and instead we get from them some sensible humorous lines for the further. Jai in his usua style l the way he came and introduced the judges without the extra effects was what I am looking from Chotte and Bade. Initially I thought maybe it's me that its tawdry but Anushka's answer actually kind of made me feel maybe I am not the only one who feels this way.

Charlie and Amar. – I think their dance was ok. There was nothing spectacular there that has not been seen before. I have not seen all the 3 segments in the same song but all the pieces have been surely seen on DID stage. One thing was sure as I mentioned last week that thanks to Charlie leaving her inhibitions out in the open there was only one way to go from there which was up and that surely was the case. She really did well and complemented Amar well. It might have been due to last week but today I was only looking at Charlie and there are times I felt her expressions were so good and maybe even better than Amar. Although they all gave the extra 1 for Charlie I thought this was not their best performance so for me 30 would have been their scores

Jai and Mahi- Just like Terrence for me this is the strongest couple so I expect a good level of difficulty. The prop was not a new one again since these choerographers are mostly from DID we are seeing a lot of things being choried from there. 11 whats up with the judges . I felt last week was lot better in terms of difficulty and moves and expressions. Today's was a sweet performance which they did justice with the one leap of faith. However 11 nah way too much.

Karan/Nisha- The beginning I thought something was wrong. Karan was looking really tensed and later he did acknowledge that . There should have been more spice to this especially from Karan which was missing for me totally. Since Karan is an actor you would think expressions would come easily for him but here you could see he was making the effort to portray the character. 8 the perfect marks for their act.

Rahul/Dimpy – I had seen this in an SBS segment so unlike Imran knew what to expect. For a change I have to say that I thoroughly liked Rahul's dance. For a non dance his item number was really good. Although it was obvious Rahul's lack for dance sense but he still was able to carry out this way too well . Poor Dimpy she was good but was really overshadowed by the item girl . Parvez the choreographer has really thought out the cheoreography and concept well. For a change here I think the 33 was well deserved. Rahul did put in effort and although the concept was not good but to put such a daring concept on a non dancer that was where I give all the points.

Suhasi /Jaisheel – We finally got to see an AV on their life. It was so sweet to hear their love story and it kind of fit well with their dance theme. Although they were not neighbours they were in similar situation where the distance made the heart grow fonder. I did think there were not totally in synch but still the act was nice. This time Jaisheel really surprised me as last week I thought he was not going to be able to match up with Suhasi but this time he did better. The somersault was so clean and effortless from his end . And this time the sych was lost not because of steps forgotten which is good however these 2 really need to work on synching with each other .

Couple of things that stood out from today's episode

Over the top Scores - . 11's were thrown left right and center today. As I mentioned not all of them really are worthy. I understand the judges were throwing in extras as means of encouraging but I think 10 should have done it.you just don;t go to the top at the drop of the hat. The charm of getting a 11 will be lost if this is the way the judges keep scoring. What are they going to do when someone really does something outstanding and innovative. Or is this all the standard for the show. If they continue to give such high marks next week I think the 11 is not really going to be shown as anything different . Over here 11 was the additional when you were giving standing ovations. We did not see it either with JaiMah or Char/Amar.

Sajid the magnanimous judge- What happened to Sajid today. From being the measly marks judge in last week episodes he was totally reformed and gave in unison with his other judges. Did he read IF to realize that he was not judging right LOL. I am glad to see him being in synch however I hope next week the scores are more on the lines of the performance.

No new Ideas in terms of Choreography -Almost all the concepts were taken from DID where most of the choreographers were . I think the producers need to buck up the standard. They need to come up with different and unique ideas as this is the first time I am seeing almost all acts as copies. Apart from Nisha/Karan all the others have been done before. And for such concepts the judges gave 11 especially Terrence not the bar you want to set for the show.

Out of Date Score Cards -What a lousy idea of a score board. This is the digital age and instead of using modern technology what is this of showing the scorecard with a hand written score. I would want the producers either they gave the judges the last week simple scoreboard where they get to choose the number or if they want it written then to use the one they had in zara nachke where u write on the tablet and it pops up .

Hosts- Lastly I think Chotte and Bade are not shapping up well as good hosts. These are 2 good actors and they have I am sure good hosting skills but over here they are doing everything than hosting. If the beginning was cheesy I don't have words for the ending. The way they embarrassed Anushka with the song that she literally closed her eyes was not enjoyable. I wish the writers focus and give a more definite script for these 2 instead of having them do the nautanki. For that we have Rahul that that is more than enough

Was waiting for your reviews 😆

For me, what i felt about the performance was :

Amar & Charlie - Charlie was the star between both of them i would say. Its not because Charlie became better than Amar but she is now more confident in her dance and i have to say, her expressions was cute that you felt like looking at her. Certainly improved from last week and wishing them the best for the weeks to come.

Jay & Mahi - Certainly a tough competitor and they would go far in this competition. It was a sweet dance and loved the emotions they had in the song. The dance was nice and i liked the leap of faith but i felt last week was much better and they should have got 33 for last week's performance instead of this week.

Karan & Nice - After dancing to romantic tracks, they have tried something different this time and like the Judges said, Karan didnt smile and that shows he was in his character. It was simple dance and looked good. Hope they can do something heavier in the weeks to come.

Rahul & Dimpy - Entertainment is the word for this performance. I seriously didn't see much dance. It certainly made me had good laugh and i was entertained but i felt this was not Comedy Circus but its a dance competition. To see this performance getting 33 made me think that instead of trying to dance, all the couples should switch their gender and dance like this and they would get 33 too? Didn't expect that mark from Terence though.

Suhasi & Jaysheel - Dancing behind the wall and missing each another was a nice concept and we could really feel the love between them. Jaysheel had certainly improved so much better and i hope he keeps improving. And Suhasi, if one really notice, they could see her wearing something on her leg. Despite her ligament stretch, she still managed to give a good performance and she looked like an angel to me there despite they didn't get to practice much due to her pain. I wonder how their performance next week is going to be as she was having high fever then. Finally an avi was shown on them and it was sweet.

Coming to the judges, we know Gautham and Karan has good body but do they need to flaunt it everytime? Anushka's expression of closing her eyes says it all. Sajid seems to have tone down but i still don't find his judgments good enough. And yes, even i was wondering what a funny scorecard. The ones used in the previous weeks was much better.

I agree with you on numerous points PD! I did not like how 11s were given so freely too... I would understand 10s, but 11s were a bit much!
And definitely feel that chotte and bade are not that great or that entertaining! The whole shirtless, sexy dance was not only embarrassed for anushka, but also a bit inappropriate in general!
As far as dancing goes, I agree with a lot of what you said! And rest may come back and talk about more 😆

Great reviews.

To sum up Nach Baliye till now, standards are very low in terms of dancing, hosting, judging..i mean everything.

I understand participants are actors and not dancers, hence I an ready to give some more time to see the levels going up. I am happy that there is no couple like they have dancing background and their performances are always good. All the participants are equal and hence it will be a good competition.

Hosting. I totally agree. Normal hosting will be much better than what Gautham and Karan are doing. They are putting themselves down by doing such hosting. I liked when Mantra and Jeniffer used to host ZND.

Judging. One of the worst I have seen. Hate when Sajid says he is here to see the entertainment level. He can judge Comedy Circus for that. I hate all those lines the judges are using...Super se Uper and Sabki hawa...something...looks very cheesy. And scores...they are so generous...they give 11s for such performances which means we are going to get performances like this and nothing better. Did not expect it from Terence especially.

Choreography. Definitely everything has already been done in DID. I still remember the wall in between concept was done by Parvez who is also doing choreography here.

Last, though Rahul is doing his best to dance, he looks very funny all the time. May be he is doing it intentionally for entertainment value. But for how long. I dont want to see him funny all the time. He has to do different genres like the rest of them. And giving him 11s and standing ovation, i just feel he will here for a long time for the TRPs.

I completely agree with you about the "11's" being thrown around - the whole point of having 11's is not to throw them around but raising the bar - the performances were good but they weren't, what I would say - OUTSTANDING or something that has never been done before. So honestly, I expected more from the judges -

Coming on the contestants:

Amar/Charlie - Charlie was brillant and so was Amar. I haven't seen DID so obvisely, I'm not the right person to comment on copying but I really, really, loved their lifts and found them amazing - 10 should have been the right score, bec again, the concept of puppets is nothing innovative, nor are the lifts.

Jay/Mahii - Honestly, for being non-dancers, I LOVED them <3 You should see Mahii in JDJ, she was so BAD! And here, she is WOW 👏 The improvement is amazing, the lifts were amazing and the leap of faith and the little moments were WOW! 10 from my side again :)

Karan/Nisha - The concept was new but I felt the execution was pretty bad There was nothing new in the steps and Karan did seem a bit off I would have given them a 7

Dimpy/Rahul - I couldn't stop laughing throughout the act, and found them hilarous 😆 BUT - 11? This is a dance show, and though Dimpy was flawless and Rahul was good, I don't think they deserved a 33 :) As someone rightly said before, if this is what they want, all the participants should come dressed as women and do this. Again, an 8 would have been sufficent for the effort, courage and dance :)

Suhaise/Jaysheel - I found them beautiful 😳 The lift in the end blew me away and they were just stunning 😳 I would have given them a 9, deducting one mark for the little mess ups they had.

So for me, it would have been:

Amar/Charlie - 10
Jay/Mahii - 10
Karan/Nisha - 7
Dimpy/Rahul - 8
Suhaisi/Jaysheel - 9

As far as the hosts are concerned, they are funny, in some places but yes, their humour is reptetive and they don't have that comic timing, that style of a host. Rather the whole thing about coming naked was 🤢 I actually just skipped that part, it was so boring! They should take Rahul as a host instead 😆

i agree with every word you said but esp on hosts they are pathetic. I am sorry but not everyone can pull these kinda cheesy lines like manish paul he adds his own charm & no offence They should just hire jay as the host too so much better. Also, the dancing standards are way below the mark. 33's for such avg performances with no original idea.no Offence but that deewar act it was a complete lift off from Jhalak's shibani's act. In short, Jhalak might be fixed and all it still is a lot more classier than nach esp This season so far .

p.s am not a hater infact i like most of the jodi;s or a member of the jodi if not both so plz these comments are not to encourage hate or bash anyone just simply my opinion

My res.. Reply coming up soon..

-Edit-

Comedy is there more and I hope they would focus more on dancing! An improvement in Bade Chote would be appreciated and honestly, I do not like their Chai biscuit all the time.

Charlie & Amar- THe lifts done by Amar, definitely something he's done before and nothing surprising. This was expected from him. As for Charlie, she surely improved a lot. Also, the lifts were completely new to her and must have been hard while they were a piece of cake for Amar. For that, I would say Charlie deserves the appreciation she received as she worked hard, enjoyed, trusted Amar with those lifts and did a complete turn around from last week. Nevertheless these improvements, I would not have given them a full on 33. Giving a challenge to Charlie is good. But at the same time, it would have been MUCH better if there was a challenge in there for Amar as well. It wasn't all that out of the world. Been there. Seen that.

Jai & Mahi- About that, I have to agree with you. Their act has been seen in DID. I myself have seen it a lot and it wasn't all that innovative. Seeing that they really are one of the strongest pair in NB, I would have expected to see something different. I have NO idea why they were given 33! From the standards they've set, I would have liked them to work really hard and do something completely different which has never been seen before and then earn the full on 33 points.

Karan & Nisha- Like you said, Karan's hesitance could be noticed. From their act and the way they decided to do Egyptian, I was expecting it to be more stiff and rigorous. Thus, the marks given to them were justified. Wish to see more next week.

Rahul & Dimpy- No comments for the first time 😆 That is no criticism. Rahul really did do a great job in fulfilling his character and the role given to him while dancing. It was filled with entertainment. Rahul did seem to be getting all the spotlight. Why do I feel that they are trying to hard to improve Rahul since he's a non dancer that they are completely in a way ignoring Dimpy?

Suhai & Jaisheel- I liked their performance, their act, the story it was passing on to the readers. Applauds to them and their choreographers. The wall thing has been seen previously and I can only imagine the hard work put into it to make sure the steps are synced since you cannot see your partner. They were mistakes but the effort can be appreciated. About their Avi, it was surely a cute thing to watch. It seems to be passing on a message in itself. Distance makes you fonder and in reality, such a relationship many share and never acknowledge. At least they did and made a life of out it.

Top scores: Oh, don't remind me!! What were the judges thinking? Is what I feel like asking over and over and yet do not have an answer. None of the acts were that mind-blasting that 33 be given to them =/ They were mediocre if I were to judge. I do believe it personally that if you want the top scores, then you prove yourself worthy of it. Not just in a dance show NB, but anywhere at any given point in life. Nothing the two couples did was go above the height that they should have received it. I would have gone with 9 or 10's but not 11 for sure. If the judges start giving out 11's straight down the board from right now itself, then no one will be taking anything as seriously and just not improve. As you said, the charm will be lost.

Sajid- Haha! I have to agree PD. His comments really did surprise me this time around. He must have surely came here. They were still a bit side lined on entertainment but at least they were something we as audience would have agreed upon. I pray it continues.

Choreography- Sadly, I have to agree with you. I had hoped for something.. just not what we're shown till date. Definitely something new is needed. NB has came back after a LONG time. I wouldn't want it's essence to drop below because the choreography is simply being repeated.

And that's all! Rest would be agreement to yours!
