After going through hordes of posts for hours, I finally find one that I can agree with. Maya, we seem to be agreeing on the performances a great deal!!
I think you are probaly the first person, who actually like TB's first performance more than the second.. coz I seem to be seeing a lot of posts where people feel they deserved a 30 for Yaadein. I certainly didn't think so. I enjoyed the O Haseena more than Yaadein.
The most common point raised has been about TB being underscored, but the only one I found underscored yesterday were Yash Gouri, that too by 1 point. I usually don't have problems with the judges' scores but today I felt that taking off that 1 mark for no reason was unjustified. Theirs was a flawless performance and as you mentioned very chilly!. We have seen quite a fea dark performances this time in NB, but this I think was the best of them all. As for their first performance, I felt they started off brilliantly, don't know what happened towards the middle, they kinda lost it there. And I think blaming the song was the worst excuse I have heard in a very very long time. The song was definitely a good dance number, I felt and I was quite happy that YG had got it coz it seemed like it would be energetic but at the same time restrained. Oh well, Gouri was under stress but overall, choreography for this song wasn't as good as it could have been, but Deepak redeemed himself big time with Aaja Gufaaon mein (just typing this out, gives me the chills, this song was spooky!!)
As for Hu-Ti there have been 100s of posts claiming how they were overscored and it's good to see someone apart from the die-hard Hu-Ti fans ofcourse who thought they deserved a 10 for both rounds. Excellent choreography is what I have to say for both the songs. Harshal Vithal seem to be outshining themselves day after day. Que Sara sara was a song that came in with a lot of expectation, I remember reading on the forum somewhere how this was a female centric number and Tina wouldn't pull it off well. And I am glad she proved them wrong (though they might still not feel she justified it) I thought she was brilliant. They had just the right amount of style and attitude. Nothing over or under, so I felt. It would have been hard to not compare them to Madhuri and Prabhu Deva, but as you mentioned it was freshness of the steps that didn't let me venture towards the original at all! And for Bharat Humko, well let's just say dance or no dance, I have no words for that performance with such a superb concept. Who could have actually believed someone would dance to such a patriotic slow number, but what they did was simply superb for the 2 minutes they were given.
And with that I agree with the scores you gave to each jodi!
And with this I expect a lot of shredding of my post will be done coz my views don't match with most of the views here. But oh well, being a member of the esteemed audience, I have an opinion and have a right to have one too. 😊
P.S. Thanks for your analysis Maya, I was busy and hadn't felt like posting anything but after reading your post, I felt like showing my agreement.
