Sound, Thanks for agreeing with my analysis and posting your views. It is always nice to read you POV. I had posted mine last night but it was pushed to back by hordes of other posts. So I thought of adding it to a heated thread.

Hussain-Tina's 2nd performance got 30 because of the theme. Thereare times when many jodis got points for the theme because it takes good dancing to do full justification to the theme. That was a brilliant theme and made everyone teary-eyes. We Indians are suckers for such patriotic songs.

We really are. Just listening to some of the all time great hits (patriotic ones), I still get teary-eyed after having heard them countless times before. And to actually have a visual, well you can't beat that!

That is exactly what had happened with me when I had posted my views on your thread regarding the analysis of a round couple of weeks ago. I had copied and pasted my views in your fresh thread coz the one I posted in earlier had drowned.

After going through hordes of posts for hours, I finally find one that I can agree with. Maya, we seem to be agreeing on the performances a great deal!!

I think you are probaly the first person, who actually like TB's first performance more than the second.. coz I seem to be seeing a lot of posts where people feel they deserved a 30 for Yaadein. I certainly didn't think so. I enjoyed the O Haseena more than Yaadein.

The most common point raised has been about TB being underscored, but the only one I found underscored yesterday were Yash Gouri, that too by 1 point. I usually don't have problems with the judges' scores but today I felt that taking off that 1 mark for no reason was unjustified. Theirs was a flawless performance and as you mentioned very chilly!. We have seen quite a fea dark performances this time in NB, but this I think was the best of them all. As for their first performance, I felt they started off brilliantly, don't know what happened towards the middle, they kinda lost it there. And I think blaming the song was the worst excuse I have heard in a very very long time. The song was definitely a good dance number, I felt and I was quite happy that YG had got it coz it seemed like it would be energetic but at the same time restrained. Oh well, Gouri was under stress but overall, choreography for this song wasn't as good as it could have been, but Deepak redeemed himself big time with Aaja Gufaaon mein (just typing this out, gives me the chills, this song was spooky!!)

As for Hu-Ti there have been 100s of posts claiming how they were overscored and it's good to see someone apart from the die-hard Hu-Ti fans ofcourse who thought they deserved a 10 for both rounds. Excellent choreography is what I have to say for both the songs. Harshal Vithal seem to be outshining themselves day after day. Que Sara sara was a song that came in with a lot of expectation, I remember reading on the forum somewhere how this was a female centric number and Tina wouldn't pull it off well. And I am glad she proved them wrong (though they might still not feel she justified it) I thought she was brilliant. They had just the right amount of style and attitude. Nothing over or under, so I felt. It would have been hard to not compare them to Madhuri and Prabhu Deva, but as you mentioned it was freshness of the steps that didn't let me venture towards the original at all! And for Bharat Humko, well let's just say dance or no dance, I have no words for that performance with such a superb concept. Who could have actually believed someone would dance to such a patriotic slow number, but what they did was simply superb for the 2 minutes they were given.

And with that I agree with the scores you gave to each jodi!

And with this I expect a lot of shredding of my post will be done coz my views don't match with most of the views here. But oh well, being a member of the esteemed audience, I have an opinion and have a right to have one too. 😊

P.S. Thanks for your analysis Maya, I was busy and hadn't felt like posting anything but after reading your post, I felt like showing my agreement.

👏 well written both of you.
Sound, it is difficult to add anything to your perfect analysis after Maya.
I concur with both of you.

No doubt this is a dance performance, but dance drama is also a form of dance and a new one for the Nach Baliye stage. We have had all types of dances, but no dance drama till date. Hu and Ti brought out this concept beautifully. And what a way to do it and what a choice of song. The two choreographers are simply fabulous.

Bang on👏. I was searching for this word since yesterday. Tableau & Skit came to my mind but that was not it. I was looking for dance-drama. That is what it was. I still have goose bumps thinking about the performance. This one and Y-G's 2nd performance was truly a semi-finale performance. Now knowing these two jodis and their choreographer they will try very hard to come up with an innovative theme and dance to outwit the other. So we are in for some fabulous dances in finale👍🏼.

Yes. Monday nights going to be a busy night. My moms addicted to the show and she has already made plans for calling in food, as she does not want to be disturbed that evening😃

I am quite looking forward to what the two jodis will perform. It will be a great treat, as we will be able to watch the other jodis as well.

I am particularly looking forward to Manav Shweta.

Wonder if Gurdip and Arjun will participate with their wedding on, and what about Narayani and Gaurav, they are no longer a couple so will they dance together, one last time.

😆😆 I just read your post on BB forum about the new game and I take back the Rupali comment. Maaf kariyega, tanik galti ho gayi Ravi Bhai😆😆

I visited the link you mentioned and needless to say I agree with your post. I hadn't followed JDJ so don't know about Shveta but Bakhtyar is definitely the example of frustration while trying to achieve perfection. He's a perfectionist is quite obvious and hence it's much harder for him to accept the reality and therefore the hurt on losing is all the more for people like him.

I would have posted my views there, but I will have to think hard (which I seldom do😉) before I can come up with solid views. I will try to be more active once I am done my exams. Right now I visit India-forums when I take a break from studying and obviously my breaks last longer than my studying periods. Debate Mansion seems to be a forum that requires thoughful planning before posting.

Maya, I seem to be quoting all your posts😊. But Since you have already said what I wanted to say when I read Priya's term, I thought it was better to quote than type it all out.

Thanks for the term Priya. Dance Drama is the word.

Am eagerly waiting for the finals. We should be in for a treat. If it's anything like last year's I guess the choreos and Jodis will be working together for the final face-off. What could be better for the audience than to see the top 3 choreographers (HV and D) working together on their creativity and brining out the best in all performers. I, sure as heck, am getting impatient.

Oh god Sound, I thought I was the only one taking long study breaks in between and spending so much time on IF 😉.....geez, so bad that my finals clash with NB2's 😔😛

In fact, I had also thought that I'll try to be active on Debate Mansion once exams are over...as they require a meaningful analysis, and for the moment, I cannot do it on anything else except my courses (or perhaps on NB episodes, for which, I am always prepared 😛)....I'll probably post my view on semi-finals in Minnie's post, though there isn't much to add to what you, Maya and Minnie have already said 😃

looks like we are on the same boat (in terms of finals and future plans for IF -DM), so lotsa good luck to you!!

cheers 👍🏼

Me too, I bet we are in for some great performances...my most favorite part last year was when all the 10 couples performed (I think along with the hosts - Sangeeta-Shabbir) together on NB's title song!! It was so spectacular!!! 👏 👏 I simply loved it and I hope they do it this year as well 😃

Cheers 👍🏼
