For the past weeks, I have been silently reading criticisms based on Hiten-Gauri. I want to ask why?
Because they are the most popular couple or because they are the true dark horse of this competition?
Some things to clarify to the people who love to hate Hiten-Gauri:
#1: Hiten-Gauri have NEVER claimed to become #1 and to beat their competition, nor have they ever said they are the best dancers among the lot. They accept they have 4 left feet and so do their fans.
#2: Hiten-Gauri have repeatedly stated that their #1 reason to accept NB2 was to do something different and to spend time together. Now in the reality bytes episodes, they are the very few people who have NOT indulged in backbiting of other stars nor of complaining about what others are saying about them. In their reality bytes, we always see them having fun and trying to practice.
#3: Hiten-Gauri have steadily improved their scores. Like Sweta-Manav, after the first round their scores have gone up steadily. Not like others who at once were 30 then 24 then 18 and then 20 and finally 24, like Sweta-Raja. Unlike Sharad-Keerti, they worked harder and put up with the pressure to face the criticisms.
#4: Hiten-Gauri to this date have NOT complained about their choreographer or fired him, despite the #1 complaint from judges and fans that their choreography is weak. Unlike Sharad-Kirti, they didn't fire their choreographer.
#5: Hiten-Gauri have always voted for the right couple to stay in. They were 1 of the 2 couples who voted for Naryani-Gaurav to stay in. To this day, Naryani has said that Hiten-Gauri are not biased when it came to voting.
#6: To this day, the only complaint you hear about them from other participants is that they are the popular couples that's why they have the most votes. Yet, Hiten-Gauri have to this day not ever complained about other couples. Instead, everyone sees them mixing in freely with couples like Yash-Gauri and Hussain-Tina and Bhaktiyar-Tanaaz. They were the only couple on NB2 present at Manav-Sweta's wedding. Not only that, but they are good friends with Manav-Sweta since 2002, as the 2 couples have gone to USA for navrati functions together.
#7: They are the most busiest couple out of all the jodis. They both work. Hiten has 2 daily serials he works on. Gauri despite being shown in glimpses in Kyunki, does side work in modeling for saris and kurtis for catalogues. Yet their look is always different from others and they try their best to stand out.
#8: No matter how upbeat the music or different the song is from the current popular numbers, Hiten-Gauri danced to it and still managed to improve their scores. Even judges have noted down that they have danced to difficult numbers and still managed to improve their scores. Unlike Sweta-Raja who chose a song from Lagaan so only Sweta could dance while Raja stood there playing a flute, they both danced. No matter how difficult a step or upbeat a song they still danced to it and managed to improve their scores. That's another thing we love about them: despite songs that are used to be popular or numbers that are hard (Kamariya lach ke re) they still brought the house down with their dance and had all the judges smiling, and Saroj Khan bowing down to them.
You cannot help but give them credit for their scores improving and still keeping up with the demands from their job. They attended the Balaji Navrati Festival, shooted for Kyunki, shooted for Diwali Dhamaka special, and are practicing daily.
How can anybody not see their hard work they are putting in.
Again a reminder that Hiten-Gauri have not claimed to the best dancer and instead are always laughing at their own inability to dance. Their main aim is to have fun, spend time together, and to learn to dance better.
If their fans see that their scores are improving weekly rather than dropping and then on top of that, they aren't involved in any kind of backbiting of other jodis, why shouldn't we vote for them? What made our respect and love GROW for them is when they voted for Naryani-Gaurav to stay in NB2.
We love them. We see their honesty, integriy, their hard work, determination, and love for each other. We have been with this couple since 2001, its now 2006, 5 years. For 5 years, we have seen this couple's true love evolving through their scenes in Kutumb to now their daily lives as busiest and most popular jodi. The only difference in the 5 years is that their popularity has grown but their love for their fans has only grown and been appreciated daily.
I have about 50 friends who have kept in contact with both Hiten-Gauri since 2002, and they still keep in contact with them. Hiten-Gauri have met my friends in Pune, Mumbai, and in USA. They have personally taken time out of their schedules to meet fans who request to meet with them. My one friend even met them at an airport and took a photograph with them and signature.
Hiten is always know to answer back his sms mssgs from fans since 2002. So him doing it right now, its not for publicity. Gauri is a bit more exclusive but it doesn't mean she appreciates the fans any less.
Hiten is a genuinely friendly guy which is why to this date he has never been involved in any kind of controversy. The only 1 time was when Akaasheep Seigal twisted Gauri's arm during one scene in Kyunki..., and that was justified as she is his wife.
Difficult actor like Nandani Singh who has never gotten along with anyone has praised Hiten.
Ejaaz and Punnet (Laksh from Kyunki...) look up to Hiten as their role model as they see how hard he has worked to achieve his succes and admire him for his dedication and friendliness. Yet he still hasn't let his star status change him. In episodes like Popkorn or Pardey ke Peeche, he is always shown to be laughing with costars and talking with a simple spot boy to the director, sharing his meal with them.
Iqbal Khan, Yash Tonk, Anjali, Karishma Tanna, Rakshanda Khan, and other actors from Kyunki... and other serials, consider him a friend.
You want to criticize Hiten-Gauri, then go ahead and do it to all you wish. But it will not change the fact that their scores are improving and they are coming up in top scores. Yet at the same time, they haven't changed. Why shouldn't we love them? Why should we not vote for them? Because they cannot dance yet they are still improving their scores, funny isn't it?
This isn't to criticize to other jodis nor is it to start a war on this section of the forum. Its just to point out what the people who love to hate them ignore about them.
