Part 3-
Neil finally arrived home, opening the door he saw Avni stood in the kitchen, her face turned away from him, he stepped closer, wanting nothing more than to comfort her.
"Avni I"
His eyes widened in alarm when she turned to face him, her cheeks were tear streaked, her eyes red, she sniffed, the tip of her nose red and let out a shaky sigh
"Oh Avni, what have I done to you" Neil said, falling on his knees, he wrapped his arms around her waist and rested his head on her stomach, she closed her eyes, allowing the tears to fall, she lifted her hand and put it in his hair
"Why was I not enough for you" she whispered
Neil stood up, shaking his head "You are more than enough, more than I will ever deserve, I was drunk and I honestly thought she was you"
She laughed bitterly "Is that meant to make me feel better hm"
Shoving him back she clenched her fists
"I want to know why you're still here, fighting for me Neil, when you dont want me"
"I want you more than anything, but I wont force you to stay" Neil hoped Avni wouldnt say the thing he dreaded most
"You know, I loved you Neil, with everything, my love for you consumed me and now without it, I dont know who I am, who is Avni, without Neil, who is Avni that isn't Neil's" she asked
"What do you mean" his heart clenched painfully in his chest, he knew what she wanted, she wanted to be set free
"I want the chance to find the me without you, I want to know if I can live a life without Neil Khanna, just some time where I am not your wife"
Neil gripped her wrist almost painfully, "But you are my wife, what exactly do you want to do"
Ripping her wrist away she glared at him "I want to know what it feels like to have meaningless sex with someone who isnt you, I want to experience everything you felt, then it will be fair, then I will give you a chance "
Neil shook his head "You're not in your senses, I can smell the alcohol on your breath you have no idea what you're asking of me"
This was a dangerous game and they both knew it, if he ever wanted a chance with her he had to let her do what he had done, but he could never imagine another man's hands on his wife

Avni awoke the next morning with a pounding headache, picking up her phone she held it to her ear
"Morning papa"
Ashish sighed "im sorry superstar, you had every right to be angry at Neil, he told me about what he did"
Avni's heart dropped, did he know Neil had cheated
"What did he say" Avni asked timidly
"He said you guys had an argument that was his fault"
Avni let out a sigh of relief, glad that Neil had respected her wishes and not told her father
"Yeah, we're okay now"
After some more questions, Ashish let Avni go, ensuring she promised to come for dinner soon
Avni walked downstairs to see a shirtless Neil sat at the table, a glass of whiskey in his hand that he twirled around, downed then slammed the glass back onto the table
"I havent slept all night, everytime I tried all I could think about was another man having you the way only I should"
She sucked in a breath when he turned around to look at her "So I get it, I understand how painful these few months have been, so if this is what I have to endure to be able to win you back then I free you for one night"
Avni stepped back in shock, Neil put his hand in her hair and pulled her forward
"But I want you to remember you're my wife, that you're coming home to me, I need to know that you will come back"
Avni closed her eyes, trying to pull away, he let out an animalistic growl making her eyes shoot open
"Say you'll come back, please Avni" her face morphed into one of shock as tears dripped down his face, she gulped
It was something she had said while drunk and in the heat of the moment, but the want to make him feel how she felt now over rode any sane thought
"Ill come back"
He let go, his arms dropping to the side, then he pulled her to him
"Believe me, im doing this because I love you, so damn much Avni, I am the biggest idiot ever, I never should have done what I did, ill spend my whole life making up for it, as long as you're by my side"
