glad you liked it, trying to write an update but it keeps freezing on me

Avni sighed. It had just started pouring cats and dogs as soon as she left the construction site. They were rebuilding an abandoned old clinic. Neela Ma was helping her through her NGO named after Ayesha Ma to get it built. She had hoped to grab an auto and return home. She should have agreed to let Neela's driver take her home much earlier. But she had wanted to discuss the blue prints with the architects prior to leaving. Then some goons came and harassed her about why she was building on the property. Once she showed them with her fists and words why it was important, they relented. They ran off scared.

She shivered in the cold now. Even though she had supportive men in her life , for many years she had lost her trust and faith that any man would ever care or support her. Until Neil came along and Ali became her friend again. Then of course DD and Prakash always supported her as well.

A car sped up in the distance, Avni jumped back landing in yet another puddle. She cringed as she became even more soaked.

The vehicle which she now realized was a jeep had halted in front of her.

Her husband emerged in a white t-shirt, leather jacket and jeans. He seemed relieved to see her.

" Yaar where have you been? Everyone has been worried sick about you, he declared. He quickly wrapped her in his jacket and ushered into the jeep.

Her teeth were clattering.

"Sorry Neil. I was trying to get home but..

" Relax Avni. We have to get you home and warm, he said more calmly now.

Avni wanted to smile. Her husband could never stay mad at her too long. Neela called and Avni assured she was fine and with Neil. Neil advised them to get changed once they got home and to travel safely.

Bebe , Kareena, Maddy Bua, Shweta and Prakash greeted them at the door.

"Puttar tum dono theek toh ho?, Prakash asked concerned.

"Nahin Dad, aap ki pagal bahu ne phir se..

"Stop it Neil. She must have gotten busy, Shweta yelled at him.

" Tum log baas karo! Neil tum aur Avni change karke khana kal ne na, Bebe ordered.

Neil grasped her hand and led her towards their room. As soon as he locked the door and turned around, Avni had thrown his jacket back in his face.

" Avni!

" Neil why do you always yell at me !

"Why do you always try to be Lady Don?

She huffed as she searched for some dry clothes.

" Because I am used to being that way ok?

Neil sighed and returned a few moments later with a towel. He started drying her hair.

" Don't forget that you have me , your husband, he admonished more softly this time.

She turned around to see his warm soft brown orbs and adorable face.

" You used to get Shweta Ma to forgive you like this only?

He broke into a grin.

"Is it working?, he asked.

She moved away from him.

" Stay away from me Neil. I haven't forgiven you yet. Even though you saved me from drowning in a major puddle today,she pondered.

Neil took this opportunity to edge closer to her and caught her by the waist.

She laughed knowing what he was probably up to.

Suddenly both sneezed.

"Guess we better get changed. Bebe had made her famous soup for us today, he muttered.

Neil took off his shirt and playfully threw it back at his wife.

"Neil!

"Now we are even!

He turned to go change.

Avni smiled to herself. She reached into the cupboard and took out a t-shirt and track pants.

She was hanging their wet clothes in the laundry room when Neil called out to her to come eat with him.

She felt his eyes on her as she smelled the soup and was about to take a spoonful when she noted his glare.

"Kya hua?

"Did you put on my clothes?

"Why I don't look good in these clothes?

He smirked.

He leaned in and whispered, " I think you look sexy. Do you need some body heat wifey?

She blushed recalling their first attempt at having a honeymoon and how he had to innocently give her body heat since she had a blazing temperature. He did it to save her life.

This time he wasn't being innocent.

"Neil! What if someone heard you?

"Let's eat first wifey. We can finish the rest of the conversation in our bedroom, he said huskily.

She felt goosebumps. There would be no conversation she was sure of it. Her husband was in the mood for some action.

They ate, Avni taking her sweet time. Neil noticed some fresh bruises on her arms. He frowned. He had probably not noticed when he picked her up because he had placed her jacket on her earlier.

After they finished eating, he ushered her into their room.

"Yeh kaise hua?

She frowned then noticed her bruises on her arms.

"Did you get into a fight Avni? Did someone try to hurt you?

He caressed her face and then scanned her arms and rest of her body for wounds.

"There were some goons. They were questioning what I was trying to do with the land where the clinic is being constructed. It is all fine now. I was able to convince them not to interrupt the site, she explained.

" Avni you are to tell me next time something like this happens otherwise I will have no choice but to have you under police protection, Neil declared.

"Please Neil don't.. I can handle it, she pleaded.

He sighed.

"One more chance wifey. I almost lost you already. I couldn't bear it again, he said.

She wrapped her arms around his neck. She kissed his cheek.

He wrapped his arms around her waist.

His warmth always did soothe her.

When she pulled back, he whispered, "Let me love you.

She merely nodded.

He picked her up in his arms and brought her to their bed.

Sometime later realizing she had no major injuries, he held her close and wrapped the comforter over them. They soon lulled off to a deep yet pleasant slumber.

Love Neil's concern for his wifey & his one track mind😆

thanks so much! lol yeah Neil needs to make up for lost time and the times he wasn't able to protect her in jail

Keeping tab on avni will be a Herculean task for Neil at any point of time . She is more than his imagination 😆.
