They are just loopholes that the current cvs are not interested in covering. We can make an entire list of bloopers in this whole storyline. Yes from beginning only Avni wad their main target as she was the one who Destroyed RM and tried to kill RP and fooled Vidyut,they knew they couldn't easily defeat Avneil when they are together,so their aim is to weaken Avni and Neil from all sides and then attack them
