Part 1 - Playfulness

On the stage were the shining studs...the ravishing Avni and the handsome Neil clad in best clothes, wearing the sash inscribed as "Miss Teen" and "Mr. Teen" respectively. They kept exchanging glances of eachother as the speech went on by other teachers...

The felicitation ceremony was over in some time with the students going off to their respective class rooms.

Avni and Neil got down the stage and went upto their gang which was waiting for them.

"Guys ! This calls in for a party... isn't it ?" Ali averted who was all excited about parties any given time.

"Ofcourse dude ! Come over to my place tonight... Mom dad are out and the whole mansion is for us !"

Neil gave back without giving a gap as he already had this plan even before Ali could ask him.

"Woah ! So it's a party cum sleepover I suppose...a well planned one ?" Rhea winked.

"Yup Rhea...! To add on...its a pool party babe "
Avni said enthusiastically which brought about huge smiles on all their faces.

"Cool then...I think right now we need to go to Our class... or else princi is gonna screw us !" DD cautioned them as he saw the principal approaching them.

"Run guys !" Kareena exclaimed as none of them really liked their principal who was always nagging about each thing.

But before they could run for their lives...the principal had already reached them.

"Ah so the whole team is here ! Good...anyways I wanted to talk to you guys" The principal said in a firm tone which made all the six remember their mischievous activities done wondering about which one she was going to blast them.

But they were sure they could manipulate her so the confidence on their face neve left !

"Hmm about what Ma'am ?" Avni enquired.

"Ha it's about the inter school competition held in few days...regarding the Shakespear plays. I thought Romeo and Juliet is an apt one so registered the same by our school's name. Since you guys are an ensemble of artists I'd want ur team to participate and win it. My support is always with u guys. The rest of the info will be given by your Headmistress. You can leave now."

The principal gave her instructions in one go and left the place. The squad six had gleaming faces when they heard of the Romeo and Juliet play.

**Canteen, lunch break**

Neil and Avni were sitting at a table waiting for their friends to come.

"Neil, I think we should discuss about the play by the time they all come." Avni averred as she never wished to waste time.

"Of course baby but before that open your mouth..." Neil said with a smirk.

"Why ?" Questioned Avni.

"Bcz my Miss Teen needs to fill her tummy first...!" Neil said as he fed her with a spoon of rice.

Avni was left with smiles at his gesture while Neil continued...

"Baby, I was thinking...that after the rehearsals evening if you could come along with me to home... we could have some alone time before the party begins...its been an year of our relationship and we haven't even kissed yet so I was thinking..."

Neil had finally expressed his long time wish to her... Avni was mum for a minute...as she wasn't expecting this at that point of time.

But now deep inside, her hormones were also wanting some cosy moments...which is very common in any person who's on the verge of teenage... but she had other plan too !

"Hmm...soo...baby... yes ! I'll come over " Avni had told it finally, nagging a bit though !

That was enough for Neil to get all excited and hugged her.

"Love you sweetheart!" He averred this not because she said yes but bcz he never missed a chance to express his love for her...

Yes, they were matured more than their age...both knew what was love! Inspite of being pampered rich kids they never behaved like the "Ameer baap ke bigde bache" types. Because they loved each other immensely since the age where they didn't even know that their feelings for each other was called "love"...at the innocent age of 8 years they had pure affection for one another which only grew with time.

While they were still embraced...there came their gang !

"Hey guys! Someone seem to be very happy...what happened? Tell us too..." DD had teased them.

Moving apart Avni and Neil exchanged cute glances.

"Nothing bro ! She said yes for Juliet's role"

Neil had lied to his friends for the first time. All the 6 of them never had any secrets...their lives were like open books to each other... But since it was some thing so intimate Neil didn't want Avni to feel embarrassed and had lied to them.

"Hmm hmm...fine then Miss Juliet...We knew that your Romeo would convince you..!" Rhea said confidently as her instinct was true.

The rest of the time they all spent discussing and planning regarding the play.

**Khanna Mansion* 6 30 Pm**

As promised Avni went along with her love after the school informing her mom about the pool party and the sleepover.

Neil and Avni got out of the car in front of the main door of the huge mansion.

"Kaaka, you can park the car and leave for the day. Thanks." Neil never used to forget to thank his domestic helps whenever they did his work.

Both entered the vast hall, which was luxurious enough.

"Baby...go change and freshen up in your room. Shall meet at the poolside once your are done." Neil tapped her cheek and told.

Yes, Avni had a room in the Khanna mansion...Whenever she was at the Khanna's place she could use the room specially meant for her... so did Neil in the Mehta Mansion.

Avni and Neil's parents knew about their relationship and were too cool to let their children as they wished. But ofcourse with conditions of not hampering their upbringing and their respect which the both abided by religiously.

Avni left to her to freshen up and Neil left to his room after instructing his maid to serve them snacks and juice at the poolside.

**Poolside lawn* 7pm**

Neil wore shorts and a loose vest flaunting his biceps and was laundering around holding his glass of protein shake while Avni had entered wearing royal blue mini shorts and white tube top.

He was awestruck to see her...not that he hadn't seen her like this before but bcz he found her exquisitely stunning as she was walking upto him...her gait had captivated him...may be bcz of the rushing hormones and urge to kiss the very first time made him go flat for her...

"Baby...you look stunning!" Neil complimented her while rolling over his eye balls top to toe on her...

"Oh hoo...! You didn't tell this even when I won the title of "Miss Teen"... what's cooking in Mr Teen's naughty mind ha...?" Avni went forward and encircled her arms around his neck...just like preparing herself for the next moment...they were too close for the air to pass through their tender lips...but Neil surprised her by moving aback.

"Baby...like really ? Are we planning our first kiss ? Noo... it has to happen on its own...out of love, out of emotions..." Neil cupped her face and said... the guy who was all horny some moments back was lecturing about the kiss!

"Neil...are you okay ? God ! Under which tree did u sit and attain this enlightenment?! Hahaha..." Avni made fun of him as she heard him lecture her. She laughed like for good 2 minutes as she could not believe that her guy who was asking her for a kiss since noon was in no mood for it when she was ready.

While Neil kept gazing her and her hearty laugh.

Finally when she couldn't laugh more...she garnered some seriousness and said...

"You are correct my dear...these things aren't planned. They should happen...I'm so proud that I've found you as my soul mate... you thought I was really going to kiss you now ? I'm sorry but No... I just wanted to see and know...your intentions and your thoughts on our intimacy ! I knew... like I was 100% sure that you wouldn't kiss me now... see I was right !"

Avni said with a bright smile...triumph was seen on her face.

"Oh god! You mad girl...would you dump me had I kissed you...?!" Neil smirked to which her response was to run away from him playfully.

"Hahaha baby wait...don't run...it's slippery...!
Neil ran behind her as she started to play around the pool...

They both ran behind each other playing like kids to catch hold of one another...after some time of running and playing around both fell into the pool as it was too slippery...

Both dipped in the water and rose to find each other. Neil pulled her close...

"Don't you dare to test me and all...Your Romeo is as good as the original one...he can certainly give his life for you..." Neil said her while clutching her waist with his protective arms.

"Woah baby! Too cheesy line ha...! Try something better...hehehe" Avni couldn't stop laughing again and started to splash water at him while he did the same too.

While they were playing in the pool, there entered their friends clad in clothes perfect for a pool party.

"Woah woah! You guys already started your own party ha...?" Rhea gushed over seeing them play in the pool.

"Hey Rheee! Common...we were just..." Avni tried to explain but was interrupted mid way by Ali.

"Yeah ya... we know what you were just..." Ali smirked as he jumped into the pool splashing the water strides on his friends.

"Ali...!! God...this guy is never gonna learn manners ! Rhea exclaimed.

"Chill Rhea...now let's dive in..." DD averred as he pushed Rhea and Kareena into the pool and dived in next.

The squad six enjoyed the pool party with mocktails and music...playing with each other and laughing their hearts out.

When all the energy was down...they just lazed around the pool, while DD and Kareena swam together, Avneil were busy talking sweet nothings to each other... amidst all this...shocker to them was Rhea and Ali kissed !

The others looked at them awestruck...since these both never gelled along like how a guy and girl of their age do...they were always like the Tom and Jerry...but that day it was surely a miracle to see them kiss amidst the pool.

Part 2 : Of love and kisses

After the pool party was done...they all changed their clothes and went up to the terrace which was already set up for their sleep over.

The sky was glittering with innumerable stars and the moon was gleaming in his full form.

The squad six strolled themselves on the beds staring at the peaceful sky. They were exhausted and done for the day thanks to their busy schedule of classes rehearsals and ofcourse the pool party !

Neil was lying next to Avni holding her palm gently...staring at the moon and her to and fro...while the new found couple Ali and Rhea were enjoying their togetherness...

DD and Kareena were just adoring the sky and their friends... everybody thought so but DD was stealing chances to see Kareena and tried to talk to her... finally he thought he need to propose her...

Just when he was about to call Kareena... Avni got up from the bed and said...

"Guys ! What's up with you all tonight? Our sleepovers are always so fun filled...but now seems like everyone is busy in their own world..." she complained.

"Aww baby...come here..." Neil had pulled her towards him such that she was sitting on his lap within seconds.


Neil continued..."Guys ! Common let's play Truth or dare! "

"Woah yeah ! Common...lets start !" Kareena exclaimed with excitement.

They all sat in a circle and started the game...as usual the game went on with loads of fun, pulling legs, teasing each other and so on...

Now the game was for Kareena... Ali had to ask her the game question Truth or dare and she had chosen a DARE which she never used to choose in their earlier games! So it was quiet a surprise for all of them.

"Hey Kareena kapoor ! Caught u girl ! Let's see what you gonna do...hmm so do something which will give a literal current shock to all of us !" Ali said in his usual mischievous manner to which everyone laughed.

"She's gonna do a stunt now...keep watching !" DD also pulled her leg while Kareena went upto him.

"DD...let's kiss re!" Kareena had said in utmost normal way... But had definitely amazed everyone including DD himself...

"Gosh! You guys are so unpredictable! Some time ago it was Rhea and Ali...and now Kareena ! Tonight is the night for kiss of love...hehehe !!" Neil exclaimed while Avni, Rhea and Ali joined him in laughing.

"DD, finally u are gonna lose your virginity of kiss dude ! Hehehe go for it...! Ali teased as well as encouraged.

"Woah so DD hasn't kissed anyone yet !" Avni remarked...

Amidst the teasing and laughing...one more couple kissed that night while Avni and Neil were wondering when would their kiss of love happen...!

After the game and some more fun...they all dozed off to sleep.

**After 2 week*Rehearsal Hall**

It was the final rehearsal before they could go on for the competition. So it was all set like the original play, with the costumes,music,lights every thing.

Neil and Avni were engrossed in enacting the scene where Romeo and Juliet confess their love to each other. They were really close to each other, that there wasn't any gap between their bodies. Their nose touched one another's while they could feel each other's breathe.

"Students...can you stop the play for sometime ?" The headmistress interrupted their intense scene.

Avni and Neil went upto their headmistress.

"What happened Ma'am ?" Avni enquired.

"Principal wants to talk to you all...get down the stage. Call your team mates too..." The headmistress urged them and got down the stage.

Avni and Neil called up their team murmuring and scolding her princi for ruining their rehearsal.

"Damn ! Why should she interrupt the play ?She could talk later too..." Neil fidgeted his fist out of frustration.

"Chill baby...you know about her right ?" Avni tried to comfort him while walking.

The principal walked up to the squad six with a grinned face.

"Listen, I have strictly told your co ordinator not to include the kissing scene in the play...then what were you both doing there ?" She fired like a cracker.

"Ma'am no... there isn't any scene like that. The closeness is atleast required to bring in intensity..." Neil tried to explain but in vain as the principal bursted yet again.

"Neil, so now you will teach me about the play and the intense scenes ? Listen ! It's a school and not a college...you guys aren't adults to enact such things...it's not allowed ! I'm not going to let the honour of my school be hampered in front of so many schools present in the competition. This scene needs to be enacted maintaining distance between you two or else I will not hesitate to send some other team in your place. Am I clear ??"

The principal had ordered and barged off from the place without waiting for the next second.

"What the fcuk was she talking ?! Maintain distance ?? Gosh ! She's gone nuts dude !" Ali exclaimed with irritation.

"Neil you should have told her to STFU and leave the moment she started...we agreed not to include the kissing scene but now should maintain distance itseems !" DD also joined in Ali as even he felt the essence of the play will be lost if done as per her instructions.

"Shut up guys ! Atleast respect her age !" Avni screwed them while Neil was just looking away.

They had no choice left other than adhering to their principal's rule since she had threatened them that she would send some other team in their place to the competition.

This was something they couldn't afford for after rehearsing so much...putting in so much effort right from the scratch till the end of the play. So they had to perform as per their principal's rule.

**Competition day**

"Students, put your hands together and welcome the winner of previous year completion and the crowd's favourite St.Mary's International School...!! The famous Squad six is here to present the most beautiful play of William Shakespeare "Romeo and Juliet "...!! Special mention is that "Miss Teen" Avni Mehta and "Mr.Teen" Neil Khanna are playing the titular roles !" The anchor announced.

Amidst the huge applause, the squad six started the play.

Avni was looking no less than a princess and Neil complimenting her like a prince.

It was a huge stage with an August audience.
Among the audience were the parents of the squad six team, teachers,principal of their school and their school mates cheering for them.

They executed the play with utmost sincerity and beautifully portrayed each character like a cinema.

It was the Act 2 which was being performed on stage ,the balcony scene where Juliet pleades Romeo to let his surname Montague for the sake of their love.

Everybody was spellbound by the acting of Neil and Avni that there was a strange silence in the auditorium.

Neil and Avni were so engrossed in the play that they probably presumed to be the Romeo and Juliet themselves...

As the scene was getting more intense with each dialogue delivered, with each tear drop from both their eyes they had gotten too close to each other, just a breathe away and their tender lips met one another. It was a pure one...just like Avni and Neil had thought. Their kiss happened on its own...out of love, out of emotions, out of affection!

Neil was hanging down the balcony where he was supposed to talk to Juliet in the play... he held Avni so close so tight that there was no space for even air to pass through them..

The audience was left awestruck at the sudden gesture by the two...while others thought it's a part of the play...only few knew that it was real. A real passionate kiss of love !

The principal who was sitting in the audience got up and went away feeling disgusted that they didn't adhere to her rule while the parents of Avni and Neil were left speechless and stunned.

Come what may the show had to go on...they finished the performance successfully and greeted the audience. They got a standing ovation from the entire crowd for their outstanding performance of the classic Romeo and Juliet.

It was quiet evident that the winner was St.Mary's International School...!

Each one congratulated them on their victory.


Avni and Neil were still not out of the trance of their first kiss...they did not know how they could complete the performance of the play. They were completely lost in each other even while their friends and other contenders congratulated them.

They kept looking at each other for a long time.

**Green room**

While everyone changed their costumes and left...it was only Avni and Neil in the green room.

Neil went to her and held her palm,looked into her eyes and all he could say was,

"Avni... I'm sorry... It... it...just happened ! I didn't intend to do so... I'm...I'm really sorry baby..."

"Ssshhh...you didn't do anything baby. We did...it happened...exactly the way we thought of...I'm happy that it could escalate our performance too...!"

Avni assured him and hugged him tight as Neil reciprocated.

They were again lost in each other's embrace when they heard someone's grinning voice.

"Avni...!!!!!" Ayesha had entered the room to see her daughter enveloped in Neil's arms.

AvNeil moved apart with hesitation as Ayesha barged into the room and held Avni's hand.

"You both are never going to meet after this ! Come Avni...!!" Ayesha shouted at the top of her voice and dragged Avni from there.

Avni and Neil kept looking at each other...tears flowing down their eyes and thus seemed like a tragic end of a beautiful story like the Romeo and Juliet...
