Neil: DD, did you do as I had instructed?
Neil sat with full authority in his arm chair, as he looked upon DD and questioned him in the police station.
DD: Yes, Neil Sir! As per your orders, I called Ananya to the police station, and requested her to bring the video. She should be here any minute.
Neil looked over DD's shoulder and then at the clock on the wall, awaiting her arrival. In a matter of a minute, Ananya came through the door, and into the office. Neil gave her a small and genuine smile, and hand gestured her to take the seat opposite him. Once seated, she started flickering through her phone and handed the phone to Neil.
Ananya: Here is the video. I managed to retrieve it from Diksha Bua's phone as she had forgot to remove it from her recently deleted' folder.
Neil played the video and listened and looked at it intently. He saw the conversation that had took place between the bank employee and Dayavanti, and was shocked to witness Dayavanti's tricks for his own eyes. He paused the video, zooming into the employee's face, and took a screenshot, then texted the screenshot to DD's phone from Ananya's.
Neil: DD! Go get that Bank employee and bring him here. Just make sure that Dayavanti also does not get a whiff of this. Ok?
DD simply nodded in agreement, and left to carry out the orders given to him.
Ananya: So now you have seen it for yourself, Neil. You have seen the tricks she plays just for power and money, and this is only a small snippet. You haven't yet witnessed for yourself what she is capable of.
Neil: Even I am shocked knowing how Mrs Mehta has been pulling the wool over all our eyes. I had spoken to mother, and she confirmed that she had heard Amol admit about the Mehta's planning on getting me and Riya married to steal my father's property. But there is another thing that is bothering me.
Ananya: What is that Neil?
Neil: You had told me that you had sent evidence to Juhi in which Dayavanti herself admitted to killing Avni, but that evidence was stolen by her killers. Does that mean that Juhi's murder was done by...
Neil's hands clenched into fists on the table.
Ananya: Who else would want to get rid of that evidence apart from Dayavanti?
Neil: You are right, but how did Dayavanti find out?
Ananya: I remember how worried and annoyed Mrs Mehta appeared when Juhi asked those questions about the case. Perhaps Juhi must have come in Daya's eyes after that day? We can't rule anything out at this point.
Neil: You have a point! Nobody else would have benefitted from Juhi's murder apart from Dayavanti, but the problem is, we can only speculate. We have no evidence against her, apart from this bank scandal. I can't accuse her of murder until I find evidence against her.
Neil pinched his eyes together, confused as to what to do.
Ananya: I have a suggestion. Maybe we shouldn't arrest her yet for the bank scandal.
Neil: What? What are you saying? How can I just let her...?
Ananya: Because if we arrest her now, we will never be able to find evidence on her past deeds. We need to remain close to her so we can find out more on what she is hiding. We need to know for sure whether she is in fact behind Juhi's murder, including finding evidence against her for her past crimes, as well as against Diksha Bua for Hemant Uncle's murder.
Neil: I agree! I will call DD back and tell him not to question the bank employee, so that Dayavanti does not get on high alert. For now, we will play along.
Neil and Ananya exchange smiles, both determined on succeeding in this mission together, and somewhere, they were pleased on the together' part.
For a heads up, this is the last chapter I will be doing on this story. Please don't be disappointed, as I will be beginning my next story, 'The new ally'. As I had said, there will be a new addition to the Khanna family. I will now be giving you guys a new hint. The new addition will be a young maasi of Neil, who will be a doctor by profession, and an old friend of Neela. She will also dislike Daya, as she has a past with her.
