Sunday's episode has concluded and given us quite a bit of insight to her character.
First of all, Sudha's portrayal was quite intense. The change in character from the sweet, nurturing, over-protective maa to this vicious fiend of a devil is very complimentary. Bravo!
On to the character of Yamini - there are a few points I'm genuinely curious in:
1) Princess Yamini was blackmailed into marrying Ankush the Maali; so I'm guessing that they haven't really consummated their marriage, because everything is a farce. I'd be willing to bet that the Yamini and Ankush we saw in the bedroom on Sunday is how they really act behind closed doors.
2) She showed Raja a picture of his son and what they've done to him. My guess is the picture was of Ritik being a part of the Raheja family - in other words - implying that they brainwashed him to be anti-Naag/Naagin or something.
3) This relationship between her and Anky lasted 20+ years, and before the revelation, Anky and Yamini - Yamkush (Yanky shall be used to infer to the Boss Yamini and the Maali Ankush) - were very romantic. I think that it's safe to say that Anky has made a special place in Yamini's heart (or they are both that great of a fictional actor), but that is nothing in comparison to the place the Naagmani has in her heart.
4) There is a lingering doubt in my mind that Yamini knows Seshanya's truth - that they are both naagins working together. We know Yamini as not only the mastermind behind the plot, but also as someone who is cruel, greedy, and doesn't mind murdering to achieve her goals. All that has been under wrap for 20 years, with no one suspecting a single thing -- this makes her 100x more cunning and vicious because she has managed to conceal her identity. The Naagins are a hurdle in her goal, but then again - having four other partners eating away at her profit is also problematic. So what if the entire "please do something to save my family from the Naagins" was just a ploy to anger Seshanya so they start targeting the four killers.
How she might know? Remember Shivanya's little photo album behind the painting in their room - it had pictures of all the killers - except two - well ... what if Yamini was in their room and discovered this. On top of that, what if she instigated Anky to call Suri up to discuss the Naagmani. For 20 years no one has mentioned the Naagmani's value or attempted to sell it, but suddenly Suri comes along saying that he has a buyer -- but later it is shown that the Rahejas don't even have the Naagmani. Why would anyone be looking for a buyer if they don't have the object that's being sold?
I don't have evidence nor have I given it much thought - but I do believe that Yamini is still holding the reigns to this show -- to the extent that she might even be predicting and playing according to Seshanya's moves.
Side Note - I'm wondering how Yamini found out about Suri's wife being attacked by Seshanya that night. Any theories?
