The icchadhari Mor Mayura in naagin is portrayed by Madhura Naik who is female while peacocks are generally males among the peafowl species.. Did the CVS forget about this or is it a misunderstanding from the the telly news reporters. ( p.s. I've just started watching the show online and haven't reached the latest episode yet so I don't know much but yes I've been following news related to this show and this article regarding shapshifting peacock did kind of confuse/surprise me). So what do you guys think?

It's the journalists fault who didn't bother to research before calling her peacock. The On Location videos of the show calls her morni, which means peahen and not peacock. Even her dress is being shown as white(hopefully as a peahen) which is what few peahens looks like. Peahens are not colourful and stunning like peacocks..they are usually grey, brown or white.
