Adaa Khan has embarked on a new journey on TV - that of playing a virulent snake-woman in Ekta Kapoor's Naagin. Here she talks about her role, the rapport she shared with her co-starts Mouni Roy and Arjun Bijlani, her fitness and more. Check out what she told PinkVilla.com in a recent interview.
Please tell us about your character in Naagin.
I play a Ichchadhari naagin named Shesha. She is the antagonist in the show. As the whole story revolves around drama romance, suspense and revenge. I am the one who is going to be the negative character in the show.
How did the role of snake-woman Shesha fell in your kitty?
I had not given any audition or look test for Naagin. Ekta (Kapoor) ma'am shortlisted me after seeing my previous shows. It just happened on its own. I am thankful to Ekta ma'am for keeping me in mind for the role of Shesha.
What kind of rapport do you share with Arjun and Mouni?
Arjun and Mouni are fun to work with. Mouni and I as well as Arjun and I clicked like on day one itself. We met for the story narration in Balaji Telefilms' office. We got along like a house on fire and there we were just talking and chit chatting. We also went to Bikaner for the shoot as the story is based in Rajasthan. Even there, we were having fun. We are fun on the set. Basically, our shoots are scheduled for night. So, we really need to shove up our sleeves and keep talking, do crazy things to keep ourselves awake!
Your super fit look in Naagin is awe-inspiring. How did you get so fit?
I always believe in being fit. And I don't follow any diet. I hate dieting. Whenever I have tried dieting, I have fallen sick. Once, I was even admitted to the hospital because of dieting. So for me dieting is a no-no. But I do power yoga; I love it and that's what keeps me fit. I don't want a zero figure.
Do you believe Ichchadhari naag and naagins exist?
I have only seen movies about Ichchadhari snakes; so, I don't know how real this concept is. But now that I am doing icchadhari naagin, I better believe and do it.
