Bani shuts the main door and locks it before glancing at Veer and leaving. She goes up to her room with a mix of emotions stirring in her. Bani is confused but that’s the tip of the iceberg. She’s confused as to why Veer wants to let her go, was he done with her? But then she was confused as to why she cared, why did it matter? It did matter though, her guard was down now and as it was, she could admit that it hurt her that he wanted to let her go. She entered the room and put away her stuff in the cupboard, angry and frustrated. Veer came in the room and as she closed the cupboard door, he comes closer to her and when she turns around to face him, he has her locked in there.
Veer holds her and then pulls her in by the waist, he whispers, “Are you sure? Abhi tumhare paas mauka hai Bani. Mujhse door jaana chahti hou tou jaa sakti, I told you I won’t stop you. Lekin agar abhi nahi gaya tou mann badal jayega and tumhe khud se door nahi jaane dunga. Kabhi bhi nahi, vaada hai mera.”
Bani’s anger starts to take over the hurt and she retorts, “Achanak se kya ho gaya Veeranshu? Kal tak tou bada gharwali gharwali kar rahe the aur aaj bas, aise hi jaane de rahi ho?”
“Tumne mujhe wapas apne mom ke saath reunite kiya. You gave me my mom back. I thought the least I could do in return was give you this khushi. Yeh khushi aur sukoon chahiye na tumhe? Jou tumhe mujhse door milegi.”
Bani is frustrated, she can’t understand what’s going on in his mind. But she doesn’t say anything. She looks at him and tries processing the situation.
“You can go Bani, you're free to go. I won’t stop you.”
The hurt starts to seep in now, does he want her to leave so bad? Was she that horrible to live with? Pehle tou her chachiji used to tell her to leave and now Veer too? Bani was visibly hurt and Veer was starting to notice.
“What are you thinking sweetheart?”
Bani starts wiggling in his grip, “Leave me, let me go.”
Veer does as told and expects her to leave the room but instead, she goes to her side of the bed.
“Bani —,” Veer starts.
“I want to sleep. I’m not interested to phir se start some new drama. Aaj ke liye bahut tha. If you want to, start something with me tomorrow when I’m mentally ready. I’m not right now so please, don’t. Good night Veer.”
“Bani, kya hua? Talk to me, tell me what’s wrong,” Veer thought something else happened that was bothering her, he didn’t know that him telling her to leave would effect her at all.
“Are you serious? You are what’s wrong Veeranshu Singhania.”
“Me? Lekin I told you Bani, you can leave,” he said surprised.
“It’s that easy for you isn’t it? You were the one who decided to marry me, you were the one who forced this sindoor and mangalsutra, and now you're the one who’s telling me to leave?” Bani was starting to choke up a little, this was effecting her way more than she expected it to as well.
“Sweetheart, it’s not that easy for me and you know it. I know we’re married but I’m only looking out for your happiness.”
“Tumhe bada pata hai ki mujhe kis cheez se khushi milegi, hai na?” She said now frustrated again.
Veer started smiling, he knew she had started to fall for him. She would’ve left if not, she wouldn’t be fighting with him if not.
“You’re smiling? Mazaak nahi chal raha hai Veer,” Bani started tearing up. “You said you loved me, you promised to never leave me. Are you done with me? Is that what this is? Kal gharwali kar rahi thi, kal pyaar kiya aur aaj bas? You want me to leave?”
Veer went up to Bani, cupping her face with his hands and wiping the tears that were starting to drop. He didn’t know what to say, Bani was suddenly crying because of him when all he wanted was her happiness.
“Gharwali, I don’t want you to leave. I never did and I never will. I just want you to be happy. I want you to be free if that’s what you want. Please rona mat, mujhe bahut hurt karta hai tumhe aise dekhna. I’m sorry sweetheart, I didn’t mean to hurt you. I’m not done with you, kaise baatein kar rahi hoon?”
“You are. You’re done with me. I know what this is. Chachiji used to do this to me every day, she would tell me that I could leave and they wouldn’t stop me and now you're doing it. She did it because she didn’t love me and she was fed up of having me around. Now you’re doing it which means you’re fed up of me, you don’t love me anymore.”
“Offo meri jaan, are you listening to yourself? Sweetheart, I would die for you. How could you think that I don’t love you? That I’m fed up of you? Bani, I love you more than anyone in this world. Anyone. It’s you over everyone, always. I would die for you, or by your hands. Sab kuch qubool hai as long as it’s about you. I didn’t mean to hurt you, I’m sorry sweetheart, I’m really sorry. But I haven’t stopped loving you and I never will. It’s impossible, Veer Bani ko hamesha pyaar karungi. But ab tum bhi maan lo Bani, tumhe mujhse pyaar hogaya. Maan lo Bani, sach ke do. Mein kisiko nahi bataunga.”
“Nahi karti hoon mein pyaar tumse,” Bani looked away and made a face, as if she was a child arguing with the parent.
“Tou phir itna kyu hurt hua?”
“Biwi hou tumhare Veer, shadi kiya. Koi mazaak thodi na kiya. Yeh ghar abhi mera bhi hai, aur tum bhi.”
“Agar haq jatana jaanti hou tou maan bhi kiya karo na ke tum mujhe pyaar karti hou?” Veer egged on again, wiping her tears for a final time before pulling her in again by the waist.
“Nahi karti,” she said scrunching her nose. “Tujhse tou bilkul nahi. Tum bahut mean hou, aaj bahut hurt kiya. Dekh liya tumhare pyaar kaisa hai. Bas aise hi itni aasani se jaane deti na?”
Veer smiled and hugged her. He enveloped her in to a hug and Bani froze. “Kya kar rahi hou Veer, leave me.”
“Tujhe mera pyaar dikha rahi hou Bani. Wese aur tareekhe hai pyaar dikhane ke liye lekin aaj yeh kafi hai, jab time aayega tou I’ll properly show you how much I love you.”
Bani got out of the hug and started blushing, she playfully hit him, “Veer, cheee. Uff bahut hogaya tumhara naatak, mujhe sone do abhi. I’m tired.”
“Nahi, agar sona hai tou you’ll cuddle with me ya phir nahi. I’m not letting you go aaj gharwali. I want you to know that.”
“Wese Veer, mujhe bilkul pasand nahi tha aaj jab tumhe mujhe gharwali nahi kahan. I thought you were upset with me ya kuch hua.”
“I wanted to give you space. But now that I know you don’t want it, chumbak ki tarah chupa lega tujhse. Don’t worry sweetheart, I’m not going anywhere and neither are you.”
“Good, because I won’t let you go.”
