Naagin5 on voot select - Page 2

@bold - TRP ka toh game is different. Even if everyone watches it on TV, if TRP meter isn’t installed, it doesn’t matter at all and is not counted for the TRP. There are just some thousands of TRP meters installed pan India that act as the sample size for the whole of India ki population. Most of these are in semi urban or rural areas. It’s an unfair and rubbish system that doesn’t indicate pulse of the nation in terms of content. But somehow advertisers rely on it, hence channel has to follow the whims of this ridiculously small sample size.

Also, as a paying member of Voot like you, I look forward to watching episodes asap. I don’t have a TRP meter on TV. Channel ka koi nuksaan nahi in uploading early since they know that barely anyone who has a TRP meter installed at home will be a Voot member. Subscription ka kuch toh fayeda ho humko 🤷‍♀️

Sometimes, I get to watch the episode the next day after telecast and sometimes, its way before telecast!
In a way, it would be better if they stop uploading before telecast actually. In doesn't make sense, they are affecting their own channel's TRP.

Most people don't even know ki something like TRP meter even exists. So, they don't realize it. Like even I didn't know something like that existed until an year ago. so when they find out about it, there is no way to know if the trp meter is installed in their tv or not.

I think they do know when a TRP meter is installed, unless they aren’t an educated lot. A lot of these meters are in semi urban and rural households.

The whole controversy around news channels TRP was because of this TRP meter bit. The allegations were that channels were paying off these households to watch their content, thereby raising the TRP. Now I don’t know till what extent these allegations are true.
But it does show that there is a major flaw in how TRPs are being calculated.

I wish they change this system into something much more efficient. Otherwise, even shows with good content will bear the brunt.

But, its not only voot dear, the episode is leaked across social media through Voot. Voot episodes are uploaded on youtube! Lakhs of views are seen on those videos! So, the show's popularity doesn't seem to be a problem. Its the way the audience are swayed! Also, naagin 5 audience doesn't seem to be the TRP aunties sorts, they are quite a young lot, and if they have an option of watching it online than TV, why wouldn't they?

To make subscription worth for us,Voot can go the Hotstar way. Hotstar only offers to view epsiodes telecasted on same day to the subscribers! Others have to wait till the next day! That seems like a fair deal! Now, whose TRP is counted and who's isn't, that's a different story! We cannot help that!😆

But, online leak is something we can stop, I mean Voot can!😆

Fun fact:

A meter was installed at my house for many years when I was a kid! Like, till I was in my 11th or 12 th grade! You can say, it was installed for a good 5-10 years! Now, this company who once came to our house out of random, told us that they want the rating of our nearby houses so they would be installing a meter! It was a blue rectangular box with alphabets A to J written, assuming that more than 10 members doesn't live in a house!😆

So we were a family of six that time.Each one of us was allotted an alphabet! Now as many members are watching the TV, that many alphabets should be clicked, that was the rule! The meter use to beep if we didn't click any alphabet when the TV would be turned on!😆 As a kid it was exciting to do that! We use to click all A to F alphabets!😆

But the perk of that meter was a highlight! We use to get a gift hamper every year for just using that meter!🤣 The company who came to our house installed that meter for free and plus use to give us gift hampers for free! It was incredible!😆 We got a mini mirowave once and a Ipod the other time!😆 Toys too sometimes!

Now the funny thing is, as till today, I don't know if that was a TRP meter or not!😆 Coz, none of my family members knew there was a thing called as TRP so we never bothered to ask!😆

Now, I don't know, if all people with such meters get gift hampers or we were just got lucky for a several years!😆

Sadly, we discarded that TV, so the meter too stopped working!😆

@bold - Wait. When Voot uploads the episode in advance, is it viewable only to the subscribers or also to the non subscribers? I have subscribed to Voot Select.

Anyway yeah it's unfair, there is absolutely no consistency of when they will upload and if u start believing good episodes they always delay I m pretty sure u will find even that's not consistent....Moral of the story : subscribing voot select is total loss of money...😆

I kind of asked them on twitter they say naagin is not included in list however as soon as they get it they will upload.but nowhere they have mentioned that daily or weekly shows are not in list. Agar dubbed hi 24hr pehle dikhana hai toh hum uska original hi dekhlenge..humari mathi mari gayi hai jo ithna voot ko pay kare🤣 I so wish to sue them on this..
