To answer your question though...
Naagrani was shown to be this force to be reckoned with till the truth revelation. After that Mukta Dhond started spreading her magic even more graciously in the story. This season had many external hindrances..as in the channel pitching in during the crap Yuvi track, Ekta Mata's countless promotions and then this huge extension of Four months!So in the middle of this the story was heavily compromised. Imagine a project getting over in 1 month is stretched for 2! There are severe consequences of it. Though these people were paid for it.
And I've heard that this season is completely different from the previous ones. Like the basic rule...Naagin and Human union results in no power loss...that should give people enough reason to not compare it to previous seasons. Also here the main male lead has been given no power. He was only a human, the soul mate of the Naagrani and that he was successful in living as and even while dying.
As for Bela...yes she has not been behaving like the typical powerful Naagin since the truth revelation but here the person in trouble always was her soul mate. From the beginning of the show...if you have watched it..you will see that her character has valued emotions more than the revenge she came back. That's how her character was.
Apart from few loopholes and wrong execution sometimes, I have no complains regarding the characters. That's how it was supposed to be maybe. It started as an independent season so the writers had the liberty to do whatever they want with the new characters. And that's what they did.
