Channel Colors has always been a fore runner when it comes to entertaining audiences with a huge variety of programming, whether it is fiction or non-fiction.

Viacom 18 had plans of launching a sister channel of Colors, by the name Colors Shine (tentative). Work was on in full speed with lot many renowned producers / production houses being allotted shows.

A little birdie whispers, "The casting for various shows was also going on, when the channel reconsidered the decision by giving the new channel launch a halt for the time being.

Yes, you heard it right!!

Channel Shine which was to launch in July 2019, has now taken a backseat.

The recent TRAI order that has been implicated gives consumers the freedom to choose their bouquet of channels, and it is still early days. Leading GECs are still in the process of stabilizing business after this huge development.

Keeping this in consideration, Viacom 18 has decided to roll back its decision of launching a new channel as of now.

According to sources, the channel honchos have taken the decision of breathing in more fire into their ongoing and content-rich shows first, and getting its GRP on track again, before getting into newer territories of bringing in a new line-up of programming for another sister channel.

Having said this, though the producers have been notified of the shows not launching on the new channel of Viacom18, the work on shows have not been terminated, considering that they can be worked upon in future on the channel Colors.
