On a more serious note though I am not only saying this about Mahir. I am saying this about people in general.

If there is proper investigation by the police the evidence would point to Mahir since his fingerprints are everywhere on the weapon evidence. He would be seen as false and guilty even though he is innocent.

Even though it's unfair but police only follows where the evidence leads.
