Vik was projected as protector of bela, who was willing to die to save her, who couldn't watch she being manhandled.
Now he is the one doing all that. He deserves to die but in a way he himself foreshadowed.

Now it has been made clear many a times Mahirji can't hurt anyone even on purpose, bohat ache insaan, but we all know when a good man goes to war, the demons run.
Something is gonna happen which will make him lose his cool, just knowing about bela's past physical and mental abuse may push his button.

Mahirji toh hain hi but I feel bela herself has not yet embraced all her powers yet. Ofcouse she is newly minted, the day she acquired all her superpowers, purple toh gayi! 😆
