I've been noticing that people from other fandoms/show are bad mouthing the show because it's number one on the TRP chart. I've been seeing these comments on twitter, instagram etc. So I would like to give my thoughts on this...
Number one: Yes the naagin series is not a perfect show. Yes it has flaws, plot holes, cheesy dialogues and sometimes melodramatic acting. Believe me this is coming from someone who only watches American tv shows and movies, Only once in a while I watch an Indian tv show if it's worth seeing. My last indian tv show was Haasil on Sony. However despite all of this it has a combination of great casts who tries to bring a good story to tv. The cast alone attracts their fans to support the show and the characters including myself; who is a fan of Surbhi and Anita and is supporting them by watching the show. So insulting fans who love their favorite actors to want to support them by watching the show is wrong.
Number 2: The complaints that Naagin is not a logical, realistic show. Of course the Naagin series is not a logical show. It's fictional and a supernatural fantasy. So this complaint is useless. If your going to watch the show expect fictional things to happen. The only realistic element of this show would be the relationships the characters have with one another. It's really the supernatural fiction and suspense that keeps viewers glued to the show and want to keep watching. Many people like this Naagin concept which is popular and why it keeps coming back on tv. It's one of the oldest concept used in bollywood movies and now tv shows.
Number 3: Naagin 3 is a weekend show. The other shows air during the week while Naagin 3 just airs on the weekend. So just think about that. It's not like Naagin 3 is really a competition for these other shows. A show that only airs twice a week compare to shows that air 5 times a week; yea that's some competition. Shows that air during the week are the ones that are in competition with one another. Naagin 3 is just a weekend show.
To conclude I notice that the mindset of the indian viewers are beginning to change. These viewers or youths are modern and want to see decent shows they can relate to. I see on that Kausatti Zindagi ke promo; many comments are people making fun of that show and how saas bahu it will be. Many of ekta shows the viewers make fun of. There is nothing wrong in wanting good television but don't blame a weekend show for your own show now getting the TRP it deserves. And believe me there are many tv shows that should have gotten high TRP it deserved but didn't. Shows like Prithvi Vallabh, Haasil, Kuch rang Pyar ke aise, Bepannah etc. However blame the tv audience who like to watch regressive content but don't blame a weekend show like Naagin 3 which is a supernatural fantasy different from those saas bahu drama.
P.S. would like to add that Naagin 3 is again not a perfect show. But it's damn entertaining and enjoyable. I've enjoyed the witch track and I loved the snake charmer track. I'm definitely going to love this track now.
