I have to admit that we've been treated to another entertaining episode from the NBT team.. 😊
The initial Meghan-Mohan scene was hilarious. It was a well written scene that got the point across - about there being misunderstandings and differences of opinion between the two leads - without giving it a been-there-done-that feel. And of course, this was an interesting way to introduce Megha to Guru and Mohan's mom.. Over all I really enjoyed it. And now that Megha knows k Mohan jee really lives in the neighborhood, will she realize k he probably wasn't following her that day? And would that even matter? Given as they both think of the other as their worst nemesis at the moment.. 😆 I look forward to seeing more meeting between Mohan the "respectable patrakaar" and Megha the "president of India".. 😆
Mohan mother and Guru share an interesting malik-naukar/mother-son relationship. The way Guru tries to restrain his personality and opinions in front of the mother and FAILS makes for some interesting conversations and definitely cracks me up! "Bachi, javaan aur buddhi aurat..".. 🤣 And I
loved how Mohan's mother is such a MOTHER.. with her "monu" and her constant need to get her son married to the first girl he shows an interest in because "ab toh shaadi karo gai?!".. 😆 The first scene really was absolutely entertaining!
Tanmay is being spoiled silly my his mother.. Mera beta hamesha sacha, mera beta hamesha acha.. I am sure (and I sincerely hope!) that this you're-always-right-beta attitude comes to bite Renuka in the butt later on. Because this is no way to discipline kids. She's just spoiling him silly - even if Megha jumped the gun and assumed he was to be blamed in the push of the moment (she
was stressed after all!), the manner in which both Tanu and Renuka told her off for it was unacceptable. Aik tareeka hota hai cheezain kehne ka, mauke ke lihaaz sey.. And they clearly didn't get the memo. Tanmay's totally being groomed into a selfish guy who eventually will never be able to see past his desires, wishes and HIS feelings. And that can lead to some troubling times.
Mohan really is a nice guy, with a blunt exterior. He isn't overtly polite with anyone but that doesn't mean he doesn't recognize (or is not disturbed by his faults) whenever he makes a mistake. I'm glad that he was shown to realize that it was HIS fault for not reading the advertisement properly.. And I am glad that his mother was the one to tell him so too! Of course, she even liked the thought behind the deed - k aik vidwa ki shaadi ho jaye.. But I guess, baatain bolne mein achi hoti hain because as soon as Guru suggested Mohan's name (and this I think was just Guru thinking aloud and being conversational because he just likes to challenge aunty jee's thoughts 😆 - it didn't mean anything else at this point) she went all "mere raja bete k liye vidwa bahu! *gasp* *shock* *horror*".. I like how they highlighted k log bolne ko toh bauhat kuch bolte hain but when it comes to them, things don't nearly remain that simple or noble in context.
And while we're on the topic, it seems that Megha's father-in-law (while he supports her) is not a fan of getting her re-married either. And for some reason it seems to me that his aversion to the idea was more because of the fact that Megha was his son's last nishani along with her kids, rather than the fact that she is a widow. I think with Megha, Addu and Navika's presence in the house, he feels like his son's still there in some way shape or form. And by hearing Megha confess about her love for Amar, he feels that Amar's still with them - he's still remembered. I think, just like for him Amar is irreplaceable as a son, he's hoping and wanting him to be irreplaceable for everyone else too.. And Megha's second marriage would seem like a replacement for Amar.. I am hoping that he eventually realizes k what Amar was/is to Megha does not get affected by her decision to move on and provide a better life for her kids and by her desire to look for support and love. That he is still going to hold a special place in her heart and nothing would change that. I hope.. But for now, it seems that the FIL and MIL are happy keeping her with them as a reminder of Amar.. Which I guess is realistic and understandable enough.
Mohan-Navika scene was such a sweet one to watch! I'm always impressed by how he treats her with the sensibility she demands. She may be a kid but she has a lot of stress on her and so she needs to be spoken to like an adult at times - or at least spoken to without being treated like a baby. She needs to be told what is and how it is, saaf saaf.. Without bakwass or other nonsense. And he does that. He simply OFFERS her a handkerchief and water.. What she chooses to take or IF she chooses to take either is on her. And then he simply tells her how it's his fault but he's still going to be around if she wants him. Very straightforward, no cooing or sweet talking. I like that. I like that a lot actually! Because in my opinion, simple yet TRUTHFUL statements hold more weight that honey-dipped half truths.
And a special mention does need to be made for Addu standing up for Nanhi in the beginning scene. He probably doesn't even know what's going on but there he was, mimicking his mother during her first confrontation with Mohan, asking her not to yell at "didi"! I loved it! *adoring muh*
Based on the precap, tomorrow seems to be a Manao-Mirchimadam day.. Needless to say I'm looking forward to it.. But as always, with a pinch of skepticism.. 😆
