I do feel Surya will realise that what he did with Karan was wrong... and will forget his vengeance... also just saw last part of the episode... Surya looked disturbed when Kishanlal's wife was poisoned... he was little teary and shocked... and not rejoicing again... also when Janvi asks him to dance... although he didn't dance... but he was smiling... it wasn't a fake smile but a genuine smile... so i guess these are already showing signs that Surya is starting to reform... so i feel Karan's problem will not bring a conflict but like you said it will draw them even more closer... also yesterday's episode if you see when Rana was telling we need to join Ammaji... Surya happily looked at Janvi... but when he saw Janvi suspicious... he also realised something wasn't right... so he was standing thinking...
