Earlier Tellychakkar had reported that Nishant Shokeen had been roped in to play an important role in Hats Off's Karegi Mera Naam Roshan on Zee. The story is based in rural North and Shokeen plays the role of a small-town guy from Lucknow.
Talking more about his look and role he says, "It is a different role with a completely new look. I have never played this kind of a role in the past five years of my career. The character is a little dark to look at since he is from Lucknow. It is a typical UPite look. All I can say is the viewers may not be able to recognise me in this new look."
He elaborates on his character, "I opted for the role because it was completely different and had many layers to it."
The rest of the star cast includes names like Farooque Sheikh, Lubna Salim and Yashpal Sharma.
The promos are expected to be on air by the second week of June.
