You still stand a chance in Shankar's team. Since your voice is like Lathaji and you sing very surily (in shruthi), you can be a choir to PIPC's rock song. And as far as "Naana naaa naa" goes you definitely can't go wrong with the Mumbai hindi.

Of course these judges are rich and famous and talented. But even if they were none of those things - even if they were unsuccessful and untalented, we have no right to get into this gratuitous name calling! Everyone deserves respect, no matter how successful/talented...

Which brings me to another point. All the members on IF have the right to express their opinions, too, as long as they don't break IF rules (such as no bashing). So what if IF members aren't recording artists?? We are still sentient, intelligent people! Just because one person is successful doesn't mean we should follow their comments blindly. Javed Saab's comments were not even followed by his fellow judges and frankly I'm more inclined to support Lalit Pandit, Alka Yagnik and Isnail Darbar on matters of music.

So to the title question 'What do you people think of yourselves?' my answer would be 'We are intelligent, decent people who have the right to comment on public personalities because WE ARE THE PUBLIC!' And as long as we stick to commenting on these people's public outpourings, we are well within our rights to express our feelings! Don't expect us to go and cut an album before we comment...

I know this thread is old now... but I just want to make one edit to my post to make it more balanced. Recently, with the whole Rahul-Neeti thing and then Javed Saab's scores, Shaan fans have been on the defensive and a few have ended up bashing Javed and Shankar.

But we should not forget the times that Shaan has been bashed, too. When he sang his father's song, people said he was putting on a cynical act to gain votes. And there were comments like 'his wife is a very good actress - she can cry and laugh when needed'.

If you believe that you have a unique voice and your singing is not unpleasant to others, record 3 songs of 3 different singers in your voice, come to Mumbai and send those recordings to all the leading music directors of the Hindi music industry; you will surely get at least 1 chance to do playback. And if you don't have a unique voice, don't go to music directors directly. Instead, try to form good relationship with some actors, directors or producers; they may help you.
