But the audience has an easy job - they can give the score they feel like giving whereas the judges have to rationalise their scores which is the hard part.

The audience can judge based on the singing or on popularity/likeability. I think we all know who the front runners are based on the second criterion. Now it'll be interesting to see if the actual front runners correlate with the expected front runners.

she needs to have really good songs to have a strong chance in this competition

well i hope in the round threads each singer will have, there will be some discussion as well. but also, i think this is how it ends up in real life too. just like you described.

but remember, in the round poll thread for each singer, the judges will also score them there. and there will be some discussion about the singing therefore. so the audience and the judges vote at the same time and hopefully the audience looks at some of the discussion too before scoring.

Yes I have sent a song. Lets see if risingabove chooses that or not.
Anyways I don't think Alka ji will garner much support from the audience as compared with Shreya and Sunidhi.

yhh i hope the songs encourage some discussion. I'm sure the audience will find it very hard to choose one singer over another too. so discussion will be required to decide scores..

but just to be clear: judges are not allowed to discuss with each other are they?? coz then it won't be the judge's honest and initial opinion...

so i'm expecting it to go something like this:

you start a thread with the song

the judges start off with their scores and explanation - they dont get to discuss the song with each other or with the audience before announcing scores, right?

so ssk first, then summer, then me

and then the discussion can start....

am i right or is it going to be some other way??

(NB i dont mind any method tbh :) )

i just get the goosebumps everytime i scroll down on the list of contestants and their pictures in the 2nd post. all of them are very good and there is going to be some very tough competition.

not sure what you are saying. but basically this is how it will work...

1. Poll thread is created
2. Thus, Poll is open for audience
3. In that thread, I guess whenver, the judges can post their scores/explanation
4. Hopefully this will be done early on and they participate in discussion after that
5. But basically, audience and judge voting is done in same thread
6. Everyone can discuss the performance there too
