Ultimate Decade Bollywood Singing Challenge

Ok so I have an idea for a game we can play on this forum. Since there has been so much talk about who is the best playback singer, who is better between ___ and ___, etc.

How about we have our own competition to decide who IF thinks is the best .And lets make it like a game not just 1 simple poll. So here is how it will work!

There will be a separate competition for male and female playback singers. 6 contestants each. The contestants will be some of the best singers over the past decade in bollywood.

So Round 1 will have all 6 singers. Each singer will have their own Round 1 thread, where I pick a song of theirs, and people give them a score out of 10 through a poll based on their performance in that song. After like 2-3 days, I find their average score, and that will be their score for the round. After that, whoever has the lowest score, is eliminated, and there will be 5 left. And we go to the next round. And we repeat this until we have a winner!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There will be 6 female singers in Round 1.

Singer 1
Singer 2
Singer 3
Singer 4
Singer 5
Singer 6

Each singer will have their own Round 1 thread which will be a poll thread. And in each thread, I will pick a song, and people will rate their performance on the song from the poll. Also, to pick a song, I would love to get private message for each singer on which song I should choose from everyone. The song range can only be from 2000-2009 since this is the singer of the decade.

After 2-3 days, I will calculate the average score of the singer that everyone gave, and the lowest score is eliminated! Then we start Round 2, new songs, and we go on and on till there is a winner!!!!!!!


I have a good idea who should be the female and male singers in this constant, but would like to hear feedback from others on this.

PM me with suggestions on who the 6 singers should be. I'll announce the selected 6 singers (remember this is from past decade) tomorrow, and then start the game on Tuesday. You guys can suggest songs for the 6 on Monday after I announce who the 6 will be.

Guys whats happening with this game? This forum has too many fights - it would be better to have a fun game instead!

I have already PM'd the names of my top 5 bollywood female singers to risingabove.

Anyone who would like to nominate their favourite female singers for this game please PM your suggestions to risingabove!

Hopefully it will be a great game. We'll all discover the best songs of the best singers, give our opinion on the quality of singing and decide the best male and female playback singers. On the way, there are sure to be many debates and discussion. It'll be our own reality show. And since it's not scripted, our fictitious competition will be more real than Gajjennddrra Sinnggh's shows anyway!

So get thinking - who would you want to see go head-to-head from the female playback singers of Bollywood? Alka Yagnik and Kavita Krishnamurty? Or today's hot favourites, Shreya Ghoshal and Sunidhi? What about others who have made a name for themselves in Bollywood - Mahalaxmi Iyer, Alisha Chinoy, Richa Sharma, Jaspinder Narula, Tulsi Kumar, Chitra (she is a HUGE star in the south - what about in Bollywood?) or someone else? Remember the competition only allows songs of the 2000s decade, ie from 2000 to 2009!

So to make it more like a game...we already have audience voting. Do you think I should select 3 judges on IF too? 3 members who claim to know about music, are active members and will participate?

This makes it more like a game show. you know, judges + audience voting...


good idea or no? I'm also thinking about having that poll, but also giving giving another vote to those who write out their opinion with a legit explanation. Because i think that shows they really mean it.

or should i just keep it at the poll, or use poll/judges or use poll/posts?

And obvioulsy there will be some minimums on how many posts you have before you post will count as a vote.

Oh wait - I reread risingabove's original post and it doesn't ask for nominations! it seems risingabove will choose the 6 singers and we have to nominate the best song for each singer. So slight change in when we need to participate.

Please clear this point if you can, risingabove? :S

btw, i have gotten private messages, and i will list the 6 participating in this contestant later today. (I'm from usa)
