Modern day music phenomenon Himesh Reshammiya has more musical hits to his name than most singers nowadays.

But he has bigger plans, and doesn't plan to look either which way in his relentless quest to be on top of the pile. It's some coincidence, then, the title for his next film. In a breathless phone call from Johannesburg, Himesh reveals that it is called Mudh Mudh Ke Na Dekh Mudh Mudh Ke, after the old Bollywood film song of the same name.

"It's produced by Aditya Singh. Seema and Sudhir, who have been directing ad films and doing the packaging for a lot of channels, will be directing this, their first film," says Himesh. And what will be the plot of the film? "It's a love triangle that has two girls making their debut opposite me," he continues. And as for locations, "It will be shot in picturesque Paris, Delhi and the Punjab, besides being set in aamchi Mumbai."
Why has he chosen to work with a relative crop of newcomers? "Seema and Sudhir have a fresh perspective, a great visual sense that comes across in their ad films and TV packaging. When Aditya, Seema and Sudhir narrated Mudh Mudh Ke Na Dekh Mudh Mudh Ke to me, I was zapped. It's a story painted on a huge canvas and has some good moments which I feel is very essential in a modern-day love story."

And now to what Himesh is most famous for the music! "The script has great scope for music and a lovely title track, which I'm working on. The music will be contemporary and a blend of folk and world music. Additionally, my Karzzzz shooting is going super fine and I will start shooting for Pooja Bhatt's Kajraare and John Mathew's A Love Isssshtory next month, so this is the only work I'm currently doing," he excitedly adds. In this day of movies with acronym titles, he concedes that one can also truncate the rather long title to M2KNDM2K!

Himesh Reshammiya to perform at Filmfare

Hold on to your breath as Himesh Reshammiya would be performing live at Filmfare awards in Mumbai this Saturday.

He has completed shooting for his portion in Karzzzz in Johannesburg and is returning to Mumbai. Within a few hours of touching the city, he would go straight into Filmfare awards where his new look would be revealed in front of a live audience.

Says a unit member of Karzzzz, "Himesh is demonstrating great energy without showing any signs of stress or discomfort. He has been shooting non-stop for the movie and now without even catching a breather, he is all set to come up with a performance in front of industry big wigs."

He adds, "There is already a great curiosity around his new look and the film in particular ever since the pictures from the film's shoot have been revealed. Now with Himesh personally stopping over in India for a brief stint, there is bound to be high curiosity around his visit."

Himesh Reshammiya would continue to live out of suitcases though. Once done with his performance, he would be taking a flight to Cape Town on February 25. That would kick start the second schedule of Karzzzz which is already being wrapped up with good pace.

Informs the crew member, "Everyone is quite happy with the way film is currently shaping up. Himesh's new lean look is being appreciated too and his weight loss has been an amazing story. We just shot for a song for the film and the chemistry between Himesh and the new girl, Shweta Kumar, has been established well as well. Inshallah, Karzzzz should be most talked about film once the producers decide to announce the release date."

A T-Series film, Karzzzz, also stars Urmila Matondkar, Danny Denzongpa, Gulshan Grover, Rohini Hattangadi and Bakhtiyaar Irani.

Dino to be reborn as Himesh!

Morea joins Karzzzz cast; plays Raj Kiran's character

Dino Morea flew off to South Africa late Tuesday night to join the cast of Satish Kaushik's Karzzzz, based on Subhash Ghai's '80s film. The actor has been pencilled in to play the character of Ravi Verma, essayed by Raj Kiran, in Ghai's film. Dino will star opposite Urmila Matondkar (who essays Simi's role).

B-Town buzz had several names being tossed around for this role in the T-Series project. It was finally decided that Dino would star as the Mr Moneybags who is reborn as a singer, a role being enacted by Himesh Reshammiya.

Under wraps

Says an insider, "The producers want to keep Dino's character under wraps for now. They are giving him a distinct look. As a result, everything is hush-hush for the moment."

It is learnt that Dino's character will be an extremely suave, sophisticated character. Though the character gets killed in the first half itself, he will keep making appearances throughout the movie, as he continues to haunt his killers.

Born again

Released in 1980, Subhash Ghai's Karz had Sir Juda crave a sprawling estate owned by Ravi Verma (Raj Kiran), the son of the estate owner Rani Ma. Juda manages to trap Ravi when he marries his lover Kamini (Simi Garewal) who has been planted by Sir Juda to kill him and inherit the property. She succeeds. But Ravi is then reborn as Monty, a popular singer.
