So everyone knows that singer turned actor Himesh Reshammiya is acting in the Karz remake.


As the shoots gain steam, speculations are rife about the cast already. Keeping the original Karz cast in mind, there have been rumours that the remake will have Sushmita Sen playing Simi Garewal's part and Hannsika Motwani playing Tina Munim's part.

Rubbishing the rumours, producer Bhushan Kumar says, Every minute detail is being looked into to make the classic Karz a real landmark. Be it the music, the locales or the scale at which the film has been shot.

But we have not even approached Sushmita for a role in this film. Not just that, we have not even finalised Pran or Premnath's cast yet, but a new face will be introduced to play Tina Munim's role.

In fact, ever since the sequel of Aap Kaa Surroor which is Ay Himesh Bhai has been declared, talks about who would play the leading lady opposite Himesh are on. However, details of the shoot locations, song sequences and leading actress are still under wraps.

Himesh is really excited about this project as his songs will be 'soulful' in this flick.

Apparently, the music of the new Karz will be at par with the original. Subhash Ghai is confident that he will be able to play the hero brilliantly. Satish Kaushik is the director of the new Karz and the movie is scheduled for release in August next year.

APNE, AKS, AWARAPAN complete 50 days

It would be celebration time for the makers of APNE, AAP KAA SURROOR and AWARAPAN tomorrow. Reaso? Each of the three films completes 50 days of theatrical run on 17th August.

Released on 29th June, the three films were different from each other in terms of genre, scale and grandeur. While APNE appeared to be a good product from the very beginning, there were still a few doubts in the mind of industry folks since Sunny and Bobby Deol had not seen a hit for quite some time.

There were not many expectations from AKS either since not many believed in Himesh Reshammiya's acting prowess. On the other hand AWARAPAN was considered to be safe since Bhatts, Emraan Hashmi, Pritam and Mohit Suri had hardly gone wrong.

The results were quite different from as expected with APNE turning out to be most loved movie of all with audience giving this Deol film a green signal. So far the film has collected in the excess of 27 crores just from India. AAP KAA SURROOR was a success too as Reshammiya's fans ensured that they didn't disappoint their idol. A runaway hit, the film has collected around 19 crores already.

On the contrary third release AWARAPAN has managed to complete 50 days though it deserved a much better fate than its eventual 8.25 crore score. Boasting of best ever performance from Emraan Hashmi, the film suffered due to APNE and AKS onslaught and is now expecting redemption from its DVD sales.

Nevertheless, sum total of revenue coming from the three films has made sure that industry has continued to smile all through the month of July.
