Hey Friends

Hope you all are enjoying the Music Month in our Forum 😳

May it be the Sargam, Awara, Howrah Bridge songs of 1950's, the romantic songs of 1960's or to the melodious and disco numbers of the following eras - we have all enjoyed listening to them.. When the time passes by, the taste for the music also changes.. We can very well compare the old Devdas and the new Devdas songs or compare the older version of Don and the newer version, there is always a change according to the taste of the listeners..

There has always been a shift in the music industry from the old melodious songs to the recent fast numbers.. Few people have always loved listening to the melodious numbers of the older eras and are against the recent Remix versions of the old songs..

So, where did the actual turning point occur?? The few that can be taken into account are"

When Kishoreda and Rafi sahab made an entry into the music world
The introduction of the disco numbers
Entry of recent remix songs and the fast numbers

There are many more turning points that can be considered along with this.. So, what do you think is the actual turning point to this Bollywood music Industry??

We all constantly talk about the change in music industry and now here we come with a discussion topic on what was the turning point which made all this change occur

I think u urself hav picked one of da major turning points in dis music industry..but its actually very difficult to say which turning point has the upper hand..but I guess ppl like MS Subhalakshmi brought a drastic change in the music industry and this was followed by AR Rehman..who used modern instruments in the background with Classical and Semi-Classical lyrics and tunes..

i think d biggest change happened during d 80s..i mean, wen u listen to aongs from d 70s, it was mainly d singers n background instruments which carried d song,,den in d 80s, fast track started cuming in..d trend continued in d 90s, and in 2000, new technology, beats and disco numbers were in full forse..n den came d age of remixes..
i think d change began wid d cuming of fast paced tracks..mainly from d 80s..

I think the drastic change came when people started hearing the western pop music more and thus bollywood also had to develop to match the ones of the west. That was the pop time of the bollywood and dis change was the biggest one dat is the conversion from slow slow songs to disco numbers! 😳
