Yes, I know only Hindi songs are allowed. Actually I forgot to write the word, 'film'. So, I edited my questions.
Yes you can choose pop songs or non-filmi ghazals provided they fit the situation. Eg, Gazals would have to be sung in a mehfil in the original song, or mention mehfil in the lyrics.

Also, many ghazals are not film songs. A lot of them feature in music albums.

Remaining busy at work , just like many of you here in the contest …. I decided to make the best of the meal break n recorded my song in the store room of the Intensive care.
Unexpectedly I was over heard by a senior colleague and she has ordered me to sing two songs in the next party in the mess 🤦♀️🫣🙄
