Navratri is an opportunity to celebrate,

rejoice, and rekindle our spirituality.

During Navratri, we celebrate the nine forms of “Goddess Durga or Shakti”, who symbolises purity and divinity, while the depiction of demons like Mahishasura at her feet represents the five negative Sanskar, including lust, anger, greed, attachment, and ego...

Thus, Navratri serves as an occasion to invoke the deities in our quest to transcend these negative traits and habits.

This Navratri, let's celebrate the "Devi" who resides within us as manifestations of her powers. Let the music galore and bring in some rare and underrated gems in any language you know!

Here's the Devi/Vak suktam from Rigveda, written by the rishika Vak. It is written from the perspective of the Devi herself.

She introduces herself as the origin of all the Vedic gods such as Indra, Agni, Varuna, the Rudras, the Vasus, the Adityas, the Vishva-devas, Soma, Tvashta, Prisha, Abhaga and the Ashvini-twins.

She further says she herself is the yajna, the conductor of the yajna as well as the soma juice that is offered.

She is the air that we breathe, and the food that we eat. She is the string in the bow of Rudra, the final recipient of all offerings in a yajna and she is the hearing ability with which we hear this sukta being recited.
