A pair of eyes opened and blinked at the sunshine that steeped through the glass window that was not entirely covered up with the curtain. She woke up and smiled at the beautiful day and then smiled some more realizing it was seventeenth of December, the same day when god cried as he had sent her to the earth! Well why did god cry? Well because he lost an angel, I guess!

"Yes this beautiful day gotta be my birthday and it is! Happy birthday to me!! She said throwing a fist in the air, whole night she'd been dreaming of this day and how her special best friends were going to celebrate it!

"Sam! Are you up, Sautan? Get downstairs now for coffee!!" Sans shouted.

"In a minute! Right there!" she frowned a bit, shouldn't she get a bed-coffee at least on her B-day? But maybe her surprise is waiting downstairs, she thought as she recalled how special these idiots of hers had made her birthday last year!

Flashback

"SURPRISE!!!" everyone shouted on top of their lungs and they could see the confused girl getting shocked like a little puppy. After all she just woke up from her night slumber and never expected this.

"You almost gave me a heart attack, I didn't get scared though!She recalled saying these words with a big smile. She was more than happy. The whole dining room was decorated with balloons, cartoons, ribbons and tags wishing her happy eighteen.

Flashback ends

Butterflies were tickling her stomach, although the butterflies even demanded breakfast she just couldn't wait for the surprise!.

She went downstairs,

She closed her eyes before entering the room, sucked in deep breathes!

And the girl made her entry all ready to act shocked!

and opened but what?. NOTHING!

"Morning Pal!" Shri grinned. Sam smiled hesitantly and took her seat next to Sans

"Oh my God how can I forget what today is?" Mou got up from her seat making Sam look up with some hope.

"Finally She remembered!" thought Sam and smiled.

"Today is sael in the super-market! If it wasn't for the reminder I would have totally forgotten about it." She exclaimed as if it was the first time the world had introduced sale!

"Woah! such a great thing to remember!" Sans got up from her seat as well keeping Sam's coffee at the kitchen table! Sam rolled her eyes and went to give attention to that poor abandoned coffee in her Barbie mug

"I would give you company too" Sans jumped excitedly.

"Sale is all you remember?" Sam asked stirring her coffee. Anyone could tell from the look she was giving that she was heartbroken.

"Umm No", Sans replied clasping her hands.

"I remember something that will make you jump with happiness and cheer you up, can you guess?"

Sam smiled and the puppy eyes she made was undeniable. Who could know her more than the girl she lovingly called sautan?!

"Umm yeah lemme guess from today 29 days later comes Shidhart Malhotra's birthday!" Mou almost screamed.

"Now isn't this an awesome thing to remember Sautan?" Sans asked winking at Sam.

"Of course! Uh-uh awesome! she said

"You know what I would rather sit in here and die than going on a sale!" she snapped in her mind, but wait did they even ask her to accompany them?!

"I can smell something burning! Ahh I should go to kitchen!" Sans ran to the kitchen followed by Shri and Mou and they burst out laughing, they just couldn't wait to see the climax of the script they'd planned! Their buddy was going to get the best birthday of her life!

"We are really evil!" Sans and Mou talked like a pirate.

"I could feel the burns as I reminded her of Sid's birthday!" Mou giggled

Everyone cracked up with laughter but it stopped soon; after all they were making someone sad on her birthday even though for a short time! But everything was going to be well a the end!

"She's such a sweet heart to mess around with" Shri said with a sad pout recalling the way before they had teased Sam and then asked her a glass of water, Sam had bought her a glass of ice and asked her to wait!

"I was about to melt and give up in front of those puppy eyes!" Mou and Sans joined her.

"But guys it's just a part of our plan, She will understand." They decided at the end!

It was evening 7:30 yet no one was in home!. Sam kicked on the door. Now she was angry. She could not concentrate on anything.

"They can remember birthday of Sid and Not their friend?... I hate them. I am so bored and have nothing to do!" She switched off the T.V and looked into the mirror.

"I feel so pathetic! But I can enjoy my birthday alone! I think I should go alone!" she decided

She opened her wardrobe to find a dress to change and then she found a card and a beautiful party wear with a note "Don't take too much time for the make up!" and an address of a hotel 'Kurukshetra'

Finally something made her smile.

She stopped walking and looked around puzzled.

"Here should have been a Hotel according to the address given!"

"Am I in wrong place somehow?"

"Lift..Lift... she shouted and waved hands at each and every car only to be ignored by each of them.

"Is there not any humanity left in this holy crap world" She cursed.dramatically

But she did not give up. Finally a black SUV stopped in front of her; the metallic glaze stunned her, as a man in grey suit came out of the car.

"Is there anything can I help you with? Are you lost? Where do you want to go?" the man asked nearing her.

"Oh my god" She rubbed her eyes; she could not believe her eyes.

"Oh my goodness! Shaheer Shaikh is that you?" her mouth hung open.

The man in front of her smiled.

"God that smile is a killer! He looked like a prince in grey suit." She blushed.

"I want to go Hotel Kurukhestra!" she blushed.

"Come on in! We are going there to! There's plush party, young lady!"

Her eyes went to the window of the car, she felt like a dream coming true.

"Pooja Sharma" She blinked and opened her eyes. Pooja smiled at her and indicated her to get in.

The car took up its speed, she saw her favourite ShaJa couple sitting together opposite to her.

Sam wanted to capture their pictures together but decided not to spoil their moments of how they gave each other silent looks and smiles.

"So can I take a selfie with you?" she pouted.

And the flash of light as the camera captured them all together; she would always remember in the city lights how they smiled while taking the picture. Finally the car stopped, it was a beautiful place, and she loved everything; how the lights painted them with colours. The party girl inside her started waking up.

Pooja took out two gorgeous masks and passed one to Shaheer. They covered their faces with the gorgeous party mask and holding hand together they disappeared in the crowd and spirit of the plush party. They looked like prince and princess in red gown and grey suit.

"Bye; I made a new friend today! Pooja smiled asking for her leave. Shaheer nodded giving her a flying kiss.

Sam smiled as she saw them leave and she was the happiest seeing them together.

She stood there for a moment as she saw sans, Mou and Shri together standing with a cake on the door.

"Guys Sam waved at them.

"Happy birthday Sam" everyone wished her which was still loud even in the loud music of the DJ.

"I knew this and trust me I wasn't angry even a little! Sam could not smile more thorough her tears, she couldn't have had a better birthday! Her best friends arranging a party for her and she being escorted by none other than her favorite couple!.

The night of DJ, the lights, the colors, the music, the crowd everything faded in front of the smile that Sam wore in her face and the feet's started matching and the body started swaying in the beats of DJ.

THE NEXT DAY

"Huh lie! You did not met shaheer and pooja! Mou snapped.

"You are just trying to take revenge by making her jealous. Sans added.

Suddenly everyone's phone beeped with an instagram notification.

"I feel something burning, I think I should go and check kitchen! Sam said with an evil smile as everyone started laughing and tickling each-other like a maniac
