BOLLYWOOD stars attracted 6,000 people to the Bolton Arena at the weekend.

The fast-paced musical extravaganza included a mix of singers, musicians and dancers.

Farhath Hussain, who has 20 years of Bollywood show experience, organised the event which included some of India's newest talent.

Himesh Reshammiya, described as India's hottest composer and singer, was performing in the UK for the first time.

Actress Mahek Chahal was accompanied by colourful dancers.

And other stars included Abhijeet Sawant, the winner of Indian Idol, and Himani Kapoor, from India's hit music show Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge 2006.

Mr Hussain said: "The show went very well. Many of the people who came to see it said they have never seen anything like it before and thoroughly enjoyed themselves.

"Himesh liked the UK audience and it was different to the sorts of venues he is used to performing in at home.

"We are hoping to come back to Bolton in the future because there is definitely a market here."

</> Boney Kapoor is claiming Himesh Reshammiya stole his song He may be the rock star musician but Himesh Reshammiya certainly doesn't have an admirer in producer Boney Kapoor. A song from Himesh's debut movie as an actor 'Aap Ka Surroor', sung by him and currently being aired on TV channels, apparently doesn't belong to him. Boney Kapoor claims that the song 'Tanhaiyan…' was recorded for his film 'Milenge Milenge', which is yet to go on the floors. The film stars Kareena Kapoor, Shahid Kapur and Salman Khan. "That song is my property. The minute I heard about it being used in 'Aap Ka Saroor', I called Himesh. But he told me he was in London and would meet me once he got back on November 8." In the meanwhile, the producer has alerted the music company Tips. "They have promised to take it off the air in a week's time," adds Boney. Kumar Taurani of Tips Industries admits he is aware of the problem. "Boney has claimed that he has the audio rights for the film. I'm still wondering how Himesh could give the song to us, knowing that Boney has the rights over it. We are meeting up with Boney to find out what kind of violation has happened. Accordingly, we will take some action." Himesh, who is also the music director of 'Aap Ka Surroor', was unavailable for comment

Himesh Reshammiya violates copyright act

MUMBAI: Singer and music composer Himesh Reshammiya has done the unthinkable. In his debut film as an actor - Aap Ka Suroor – The Moviee – The Real Luv Story, Reshammiya has added a song from Boney Kapoor's Milenge Milenge, which is yet to go on the floors.



Incidentally, Reshammiya had composed the song for Kapoor's film but later decided to use it for his own. He has provided the entire musical score for Milenge Milenge.



The audio rights of Milenge Milenge, which stars Salman Khan, Kareena Kapoor and Shahid Kapur, are with Tips. Tips' Ramesh Taurani says, "Boney Kapoor has called my brother Kumar and informed about this unfortunate incident. The song is being aired on various TV channels. We are looking at various angles as to what action can be taken in this case. It is a violation of the copyright act."



Producer Boney Kapoor adds, "Once the song is recorded for my film, it is my property. I have already informed Tips and even questioned Himesh about this. However, he is still in London and is expected to return tomorrow (8 November). We will be meeting him regarding this issue."



Meanwhile, the audio rights of Reshammiya's Aap Ka Suroor – The Moviee – The Real Luv Story has been acquired by T-Series. T-Series chairman and managing director Bhushan Kumar was unavailable for comment
