Time to grill another member😆😛. Well, I know its summer and I am roasting up people! Yeah, I know I am cruel!😃 Some of you must be calling me "Evil Viewbie"😆😃😆 But I m happy coz I just can't stop people from bringing onto an alternative hotseat called:

Some information about Clarinets:

The clarinet is a musical instrument in the woodwind family. The name derives from adding the suffix -et meaning little to the Italian word clarino meaning a particular trumpet, as the first clarinets had a strident tone similar to that of a trumpet. The instrument has an approximately cylindrical bore, and uses a single reed. (See Characteristics of the instrument.)

Clarinets actually comprise a family of instruments of differing sizes and pitches. It is the largest such instrument family, with more than two dozen types. Of these many are rare or obsolete, and music written for them is usually played on one of the more common size instruments. The unmodified word clarinet usually refers to the B soprano, by far the most common clarinet. (See Extended family of clarinets).

Since approximately 1850, clarinets have been nominally tuned according to 12-tone equal-temperament. Older clarinets were nominally tuned to meantone, and a skilled performer can use his or her embouchure to considerably alter the tuning of individual notes.

A person who plays the clarinet is called a clarinetist, sometimes spelled "clarinettist".

Congrats desi_chick! I've been told that the clarinet is a very difficult instrument - kudos to you for playing it! 👏

1) What are the best songs which can be played on a clarinet?

2) What songs would you NOT like to play with a clarinet (ones which would sound really bad with that instrument)?

3) If you can play a clarinet, can you also play the flute? Or is one instrument harder than the other?

4) How many times in a week do you practise and for how long?

well i started in grade 7 and stopped in gr. 8😳😛

2. What/who was your motivation and inspiration to learn the clarinet?! Do any other family members play?!
I wasn't really inpired by anyone particular but i used to watch my older brother play and i remember wishing i knew how to and the next year i got a chance😊

ok well theres the reed... you need a new one every couple months i think and the ligature which attaches the reed to the mouthpeice lol😛 the barrel...🤔the bell😃 and the keys lmao its fun pressing them my cuzins always do when they come ova😆 and theres the upper joint and lower joint!😊

4. In terms of playing, to what other instrument is the clarinet closest?!
I think it's the closest to the flute😳 but the flute is harder lol😛

5. Who, if any, is your favorite clarinet player?! Why is he/she/they your favorite?!
I don't have a favorite😳 but the best clarinet player i have heard lol is my band teacher😃😆 cuz he plays realli good like Wow! and i havent heard that many clarinet players😳

6. Where in your house do you keep your clarinet?!
In my room, on my desk😳

7. When and where do you find it most relaxing/soothing to play the clarinet?!
I think its most relaxing to play the clarinet at home in my room, or in front of my parents. I find it nerve-wracking to perform in front of stranger😳 i remember at concerts i used to be soo nervous! I think its most soothing in the morning maybe because i'm used to playin early because my lessons were at 8 am😳

8. When you are playing, describe your emotions at that moment (how does it make you feel)?!
It makes me feel relaxed😃 which is a change because i'm usually very very hyper hehe😳 😛But when i play in front of people i get nervous and mess up way more😳

9. If you were given a chance to portray your talent at an event, to which song/musical would you play?! Why?!
I would definetly play the Jingle Bell Rock ( i think thats what its called) because i have performed it before on Christmas and it's really catchy and fun😃

10. Is there any other instrument that you would like to learn how to play?! Which one(s)?!
I would loveee to learn how to play the piano! maybe Aparna can teach me😛hehhe😳 I would also love to learn how to play the guitar because 2 of my friends play it and its really cool😃😉

hmmm nice question!🤔 I think because it would be sort of awkward seing someone playing a clarinet maybe dunno😳 But they do show Squidward ( or w/e) in spongebob playing the clarinet and its ....weird but funny😛😃😆
