Music composer A.R. Rahman is undoubtedly at his musical best in Rakyesh Omprakash Mehra's blockbuster "Rang De Basanti" with his carefree "Paathshala" tightly holding on its number one slot.

"Paathshala" - Film: "Rang De Basanti"; singers: Naresh Iyer, Mohammed Aslam; music: A.R. Rahman. The film has been declared a blockbuster and now this rhythm-based song puts "Rang De Basanti" on a musical high.

"Jhalak dikhlaja" - Film: "Aksar"; singers: Himesh Reshammiya; music: Himesh Reshammiya. Crooned by Reshammiya, the song stands out because of the nasal effect given by the singer. It has the potential to stay on the charts for a longer period.
