This topic just always makes me very upset at some of the men and their thought process! A Muslim man cannot just have four wives because he wants too....there are certain exceptions (I guess that is the term I can use right now 😕), to this fact! For example, if a man is away from home for exceptionally long periods of time, such as if he is in the military or something, and is stationed far from his home and family, for many years and/or is unable to come home, then he "can" marry another woman, I believe, if I'm not mistaken, that too, with the permission of his first wife!

I'm sure you can catch my drift, as I will not be listing all possible reasons a man can marry again! 😃

oh..I am sorry I did upset you by saying that....Btw...you are right to some extent....but....It's not against the islamic law to marry 4...it's ok if you stick to one...but it's also ok you have four....yeah I agree that before marrying to another he should get the permission of the first and so on...

The second examample you gave is also right to some extent...military....away from home etc....during olden days man used to go for jihad...[islamic war]The population of man decreased....so to cope up the women population man used to marry....more than one..

But...on the whole keep those reasons one side....and it is still or even permitted to have upto four without any reasons...The lslamic law is a law..we can not deney it...
