Yesterday a call came on our landline phone, which does not show any caller id. I was not at home nor were any members of my family. Our maid, who understands smatterings of Hindi picked up the phone and answered, what she heard and what she replied I cant say in detail, as I dont know what happened.
I came back home first, and our old maid was muttering something about a caller speaking in Hindi. Curious, I asked about any calls for me and my family. She said that a call came in Hindi language. I asked her the name of the caller.
She said it sounded like a wrong number because there was no Rajat in this house. She pronounced the name of the caller with difficulty. She said it sounded like Mohit SiggaL
I was stumped. She is a Bong and in her own way she was pronouncing, and it almost sounded like Sehgal...
Er, I dunno if it is The Mohit Sehgal, there could be several of them. Maybe it was Mohit Shergill, maybe Mohit S. Gul, maybe... vagera vagera... after all maids cant be trusted!!
