I was struck speechless by the end of the episode...I STILL can't get over how numb I am. I'll be back with my thoughts after watching the GuNur confrontation again.
For now, all I can say is Rati and Sanaya are BRILLIANT! I've missed them SO much, and this episode and the reunion was far, far better than anything I could've imagined or hoped for.
Will be back soon! *rushes off to watch the episode again*
***EDIT***
This is something like a one-shot from Gunjan's perspective...I just started watching this part, and the words just came automatically. I didn't mean for it to be so long, but that's what happens when Rati and Sanaya enact something so emotionally charged as a confrontation like this with flawless perfection! The clarity with which they understand the nuances of their characters as well as the Nupur-Gunjan relationship, with all its layers and intricacies...Naturally it could only lead to me attempting to write out everything and trying to understand Gunjan's feelings. I'm just as confused as everyone else is about Nupur - hence the perspective.
The ENTIRE MJHT team deserves a standing ovation - after so long, a wonderful episode with my favorite four!
---------------
"Bahut din ho gaye teri awaaz sune huye. Please, gaa na, Gunjan. Please!"
Gunjan closes her eyes, and the memory comes flooding back. This song, the same one she has sung time and time again...First an expression of her feelings about being in a new city with no one but her Di to cling to for support...Now a plea to bring her sister back to her...It takes immense effort to sing as the tears flow slowly down her cheeks.
She finishes singing, but the only sound that follows is that of the birds chirping, oblivious to the sorrows that hang in the air. Gunjan's hopes plummet to the ground as Mayank comes back to her and Samrat. He hadn't found her, and she hadn't come.
They turn to leave, but a force stronger than anything they have ever experienced before urges them to turn around...And she is there. Nupur.
"Tum jaa rahi ho na, Di...Toh kuch toh chod kar jaana hoga..."
"Kuch nahi, Gunjan. Sab kuch..."
Gunjan walks slowly toward the woman standing before them, her feet moving forward as if propelled by themselves, as if she is detached from the rest of the world and the only world that exists is the one in which she and her Di are in...But is she really there...? She's not an apparition, a creation of a hopeful mind, an incomplete heart, a longing soul...?
Struggling to take a shaky breath, blinking back tears as she looks into cool brown eyes, Gunjan reaches out trembling hands to cup her sister's face, and she knows that she is not living in a dream.
"Di...Di..." The words form on her lips, but no sound comes out. Her hands drop from Nupur's face to her shoulders, confirming that the person standing before her is living, breathing...The overwhelming sensation is enough to send her collapsing to the ground, hands sliding, grasping at those arms that had encircled her in a protective embrace year after year - an embrace that had left her feeling vulnerable and cold for the past three years.
When she has enough strength to take a breath, the air comes in a great, rasping shudder, and an anguished cry escapes her throat, a half-sob and a whimper that would have evoked pity from even the hardest of hearts. The pain that had been bottled up for years stings as Gunjan cries, gasping for breath at the feet of her Di. Di, who was never just an elder sister to her...She was, and is, everything to her. Her sister, her father, her mother, her friend, her entire world.
Nupur stands there, unmoving, her face expressionless, as Gunjan clings to her just as the dying cling to the air and memories around them, afraid to let go.
Samrat and Mayank ask her why she won't scold Nupur for tormenting them so; Gunjan lets out a strangled, "Nahi! Main kisi ke saath nahi hoon. Mere Di ke alaawa main kisi ke saath nahi hoon!"
And how could it be otherwise? They had always been there for each other, through the hardest of times. Nupur had always been there to wipe Gunjan's tears and console her; Gunjan had always been there to calm Nupur in times of panic. They were each others' strength. Gunjan would never let Nupur leave her side again, not ever, no matter what it took.
"Di...Tum jo bhi kahoge...bilkul waisa hoga! Sab kuch tumhari marzi se hoga! Bas...Bas mujhe kabhi chod ke mat jaana!" Her voice cracks as her self-control crumbles. "I promise, Di! Tum jo bhi kahoge, woh hoga! Lekin tumhe bhi promise karna hoga...Ke tum mujhe kabhi chod kar nahi jaaoge. Tum mujhe kabhi akela nahi chodogi! Promise karo, Di! Promise karo..."
Nothing could have prepared Gunjan for the shock that follows when Nupur pulls her hands out of Gunjan's, stepping away from her. She looks at her hands, and then up at her sister, confusion on her face. And nothing could have prepared her for the complete confusion that swirls around them all when Nupur speaks.
"Yeh...Kya naatak laga rakha hai?"

Reemz, thanks so so much for this topic! I'm sorry about the length of this post! 😳 It goes without saying that I LOVED Rati and Sanaya today, as much as I always have, if not more! I'm elated that they're back together as GuNur, even if things are shrouded in mystery as far as Nupur's behavior is concerned.

When I heard that Rati-Sanaya aren't exactly friends, I did wonder if this will affect their on-screen chemistry and so I wasn't sure if that bond and warmth will be there. I was slightly hesitant to be honest but they haven't lost it at all! Both Rati and Sanaya understand the depth of GuNur's relationship so well and I do think they are better actors than their male counterparts which is why when they are together, they seem more real to me. The scene had to be SO right if they had to give justice to GuNur's relationship and they really didn't disappoint

Rati was fab as always! She had to keep that blank yet curious expression and as soon as Gunjan dropped on to her knees sobbing, you knew Nupur had felt some tug!

Absolutely, I can definitely say I was not disappointed at all. In fact if I may say so.. I was really pleased with the scene!! The scene was perfect. Sanaya was at her best! Oh absolutely, Nupur did, but thats the mystery... they wont give it away so easily. Right now there is so much more to come... I am just looking forward to the coming episodes. I have never been so eager to see how a track unfold as this one. I know this will be amazing because I have gotten assurance to be patient and let everything unfold and that no one will be disappointed. So I completely trust the writers. We have seen one side and now another side is yet to unravel.

Reemz...

Now this is the little sister I have been dying to see.... that scene was too surreal and the one sentence...mein kissi ke saath nahin hoon... mein sirf di ke saath hoon....

now they have redefined sister bond.... she forgot everything.... her pain ... her anguish of loosing her sister... everything the minute she saw her standing there.......... I loved the graphics of undoing the past.... everything has changed... everything vanishing... the truth stands infront of them... she is there .... and all that mattered to Gunjan to have her sister back.... She showed her vulnerability and her hope at the same time... she stands at the intersection of past ,future and present... and all she wants is to bring that harmony in her life ..... her sister...

Sanaya really did excel in this scene... I have to give cheers to Sanaya.... kudos to her for connecting with the most important point of the character..... her strength and her weakness both are her sister...and Rati by God... what a conflict in emotions.... her earth shattered I guess... if she didn't recognize the song and the singer .... why did she come there..... the same bond brought her in front of the people she loves involuntarily.... and she was caving in... she almost did.... but she snapped out of it... marvelous expressions

I am so happy today...that one bond that was precious to MJHT was not tampered with and it maintained its sanctity....

Its great because MaYur fans will get a fresh love story, SaJan will re-build theirs and the GuNur fans like me will see them bond again. Its going to be really interesting to see!

Sisters...mother-daughter...best friends...all rolled in to one! She may have wanted to be angry at Nupur for leaving her alone for so many years but after seeing her standing right in front of her, I don't she cared at that point or wanted an explanation. Gunjan was in such a helpless state! 😔 Nupur definately got affected but for unknown reasons she rejected those feelings.

WOW! You just made me re-live the whole scene again! 😳 You write realllly well!!
a creation of a hopeful mind, an incomplete heart, a longing soul..
^So beautifully worded. Nupur made everything right for her! She is a lost soul without her Di simply because she depended on her when she needed her parents. I still remember when Gunjan got shot, Nupur was crying and telling their Dad how she was the one who raised Gunjan, she would decide what she would wear, who she would talk to. Gunjan is the product of Nupur's upbringing! She could cry on her shoulder when there was any issue with Samrat, she was just THERE 24/7. Her sister was her everything and her everything was taken away within a night. As soon as she fell on the floor, it was as if she was finally letting herself free. All those emotions she had hidden somewhere had come out! The kiss on the hand was so adorable and touching.

At that moment, Gunjan didn't care for anyone else. She just wanted to be with her sister and no-one else. The desperation was so obvious when she said everything will go according to what Nupur wants but she CANNOT leave her again. But when did Nupur even demand anything? Gunjan couldn't afford to lose her Di again!
